How to Have This Conversation? Am I being insecure?

TLDR: My long-term girlfriend wants to hang out with a guy I think is creepy and I don't know how to approach the conversation about how I feel with her.

Hey 35m been with my 38f for about 10 years.

I'm not great at putting my thoughts on paper so bare with me.

Things have been a bit strained recently, we moved cross country for her to start a new job which has turned out to be incredibly stressful, and at the same time my freelance work has dwindled. I'm definitely not in a great place mentally. my self esteem/confidence is a bit low and my anxiety levels are high, hence looking for an outside perspective.

So here's the situation. There's a guy she used to work with, she describes as a lonely alcoholic. She seems to think his intentions are plutonic, but I'm not so sure. He's done a few things that seem a bit weird, like asking her to be his plus one at a wedding. He also seems to be willing to go to quite some lengths to see her. I've always said he seems a bit weird but she reassures me he's fine.....

He has friends who live in the next town over (to were we live now) who he visits sometimes and he asked if she would want to hang out with them when he went to visit. So she went to hang out with them. I didn't get invited, didn't really bother me at the time. Crucially, that time she got the bus home (I did offer to pick her up). Anyway. Soon after he invited her again, but this time he suggested she stay over. She told me this immediately and I said it was a red flag. She kind of blanked him for a few days and he said something like "that was my friends idea by the way". I don't buy it, she does. So at this point in time, I'm pretty sure she's planning on staying over at his friend's house next time they hang out. I don't know if I'm cool with this. It just seems weird, they're house is a short taxi/bus away, I have also said I'm willing to pick her up.

To be clear, I trust my girlfriend, she is not the one I'm worried about, I don't think she's going to get drunk and fuck someone else, especially not this guy, for a start he doesn't even sound very attractive, but more importantly, she just isn't that type of person.

What I'm more concerned about is him. We all know what some men are like, especially lonely ones. I'm worried that she will trust him too much. Like when he goes to the bar and gets a drink, he could easily slip her something and then what? Nothing good that's for sure. I would feel awful if I just sat back and let something like that happen, but also, she's a grown woman and I'm not usually in the business of telling her what to do.

The thing is, I'm not sure how to talk about this without it back firing. I'm essentially saying I don't think she has very good judgement/is naive/stupid and I'm worried it will come off as controlling (maybe it is controlling?) and me just being insecure (maybe it is).

How should I approach this situation? Part of me feels like I should just ignore my worries, it'll probably be fine, I'm just overthinking it, another part of me wants to put my foot down and say absolutely not, why would you even think of doing something like that and another part of me wants to demand to meet him/know who these other people are and the address she'll be staying at.

As you can see, with my emotional state, I'm not thinking clearly. I know we need to talk, but I don't know how to go about doing so in a way that's respectful of her autonomy and won't end up in an argument.

TIA, hope this isn't too much of a ramble.

Parts Cross Compatibility (Ignition)

Hi everyone, I have a 2011 XH10 (EU/UK variant). The drivers door lock and ignition barrel are on the way out and I'm keen to replace them before they completely stop working. I'm struggling to find a set of locks, most listings seem to be for 96-06. Does anyone know if they would still fit a 2011? If not does anyone know where I can get some that will (in the UK)? I'm hoping not to spend a lot of money because I'm poor.

How to stop this thing

Hey, sorry for the newb question but I'm struggling to figure out how to stop this floating screw when I exit the app. I still want the video to keep playing (when it's music), but I don't want this floating mini screen. This is YT, not YT music. Maybe I should get YT Music? Do your playlists from normal YT carry over?

TIA

Levelling Tool?

Hi everyone

I've been having fun making wonky slab built mugs recently, I love watching them warp as they dry. One thing I'm struggling with though is levelling out the tops/rims of the mugs.

I've been using the back of a scourer sponge and scraper which works quite well, but it's quite long winded and one slip can mean having to bring the level down a bit further again

Just looking for some tips on how to make it easier. I did think of some kind of height adjustable scraper stand, sort of like the thing people use for icing cakes. Is that a thing?

TIA.

Dying Synthetic Stretch Fabric

Hi everyone

I bought 10m x 1.5 of some synthetic stretch jersey recently very cheap on ebay. In the listing it looked sage green, but when it turned up it was a bright green, almost like a snooker table top.

It was so cheap that sending it back isn't worth it, but I really don't want to use it as is or throw it away, so I was thinking of dying it all.

I've never dyed anything before ever, I gather synthesics can be tricky and I imagine the fact it's stretch might also throw a spanner in the work.

Is there a suitable product for my needs? What colour should I add to tone it down? I'm guessing I could go darker green or maybe go for blue and end up with a real?

TIA

Question From A Clueless Tenant

Hi everyone. I moved to a new town last August, at the time I signed a 6 month lease with a 1 month notice period after that. This is my first time being on a lease, I've always lived in share houses or with family etc/casual hand shake kind of thing.

I found a new rental, same price, much nicer house, so I'm keen to make the move there.

I haven't told my current letting agent anything just yet.

Last night I went for an interview with the estate manager (new rental is owned by the estate/lord of the land type thing). He said that our old contract/agreement should still be in force and we should only have to give 1 months notice. But from what I'm seeing on Google it seems that the new renters rights act now applies and it will be 2 months.

He also said about letting our current letting agents know we might be moving, without actually serving notice (we have not yet been accepted and would still need to go through referencing once we have). But, again, that seems to go against the usual advice.

So, should I open a line of communication with the current letting agent and let them know? Is he right that we'll only need to serve one month?

TBH, I'm not sure how well the interview really went, so I'm not particularly confident I'll get the house and really don't want to risk having to leave this one with nowhere else to go. Like I say, I'm new to all this and it seems like there's conflicting information.

TIA.

How Do I Make This Fit Properly?

Outdoor tap wasn't turning off properly, so I thought it was time to upgrade to a dual outlet as I would like to run 2 sprinklers at a time. Stupidly bought the cheapest one off Amazon. Every time I fit it it ends up upside down once fully tightened. I tried putting loads of PTFE on it but it hasn't helped. Is this a problem with the thread on the tap or am just I being a doofus?

Help Choosing a Boombox Amplifier

I used to build boomboxes many moons ago. Back in the day of ta2020 amps and deep cycle lead acids. I've decided it's time to build another one and things have clearly moved on. I was recommended amps with TPA3116D2 chips and 5.1 Bluetooth. I'm really struggling to find one that's available in the UK or posted from overseas in a reasonable time frame.

I'm looking for 2 channel, not 2.1, I will pay what I have to but I'm trying to keep costs low.

Planning on running 2x 4ohm 6x9s and using a 145 watt power bank with a usb-c PD trigger cable for the power.

Any advice welcome, I've been looking for about 24hrs now and coming up short. There's just so many options and they all look very similar and have names that are hard to remember (I already accidentally bought a 2.1 MT21 thinking it was something else).

I notice there's a lot of other TPAxxxxx amps as well, maybe I could use one of those instead? Or honestly whatever, I just want enough oomph to run the 6x9s and good sound and maybe some level of tone control.

TIA

Edit: maybe this? It's not 5.1, but does that really matter?

I bought one of these the other day. I decided to assemble it and test it today. I hooked it up to a cheap 12v 2a power supply and a pair of small bookshelf speakers. When I connected via bluetooth I got a lot of interfernece/high frequency noise, when I connected via aux I got pretty bad sound quality but much less audible interference. Can anyone tell me if thats an issue with low voltage/bad power supply or the amp itself? I did try a few different power supplies, all 12v 2a, all kind of cheap and crappy, same result with all of them. Let me know if you need any more info and I will try and provide it. I'm planning on running this off a usb powerbank and a usb-c PD decoy/trigger cable (once I figure out how to do it) at 20v. If this is faulty, can anyone recomend an alternative? I don't actually need the sub channel at the moment, maybe I'd be better off with a 2x100 version of a TPA3116D2 amp. I'll be running a couple of old 4 ohm 6x9s.

Hi everyone. I made some window covers and used self adhesive velcro to attach them. It was genuine velcro brand, so I figured the glue would be pretty strong/heat resistant. It's staying stuck to the window covers, buts it's all starting to fall off the the window surounds. Can anyone recommend a self adhesive velcro/hook and loop that can stand the heat/test of time?

I could use suckers, but I find that usually ends up with a gap that lets in light/heat.

▲ 13 r/Pottery

Hi guys, pretty new to this pottery thing. I made this lemon juicer the other day and I think I forgot to do the join properly (test fitted it and then got distracted). The cracks don't go all the way through, but I'm worried the top will pop off in the kiln. I'd quite like to save if it it's doable, but I also don't want to waste money on kiln space, I've got a lot of stuff to fire.

The lawns at my new house are surounded by brick walls with pillars and cap stones as shown in the pictures, I also have a manual reel mower, which makes it hard/impossible to get into the awkward spots. I was thinking of just buying a strimmer, but I feel like i'll chew through heaps of wire trying to get into the corners and maybe even damage my landlords brickwork. I spotted these "cordless grass shears" which look like a potential alternative, but also look like cheap junk. Does anyone make a decent quality version? Keen to hear from anyone who has experience with them or any other ideas about what I could use. I have a pretty bad back, so i need something I can use standing upright rather than being bent double.

TIA
