Will it happen again?

I had HG with my first child, she is currently 5 months and perfect! I really wanted 2 under 2 but now I’m debating it because i don’t know how I could possibly take care of a 10 month old - 14 month old while having HG….

tell me your experience… did you have HG again or not? was it worse or better?

Convertible car seat recs

looking for recs on a convertible car seat. we’re going to be buying the Honda Pilot at some point this year or early next year so we should have a decent amount of room. I don’t want one that’s insanely bulky or anything - nor do I want to spend 1g on a carseat. what have you liked and why?

open to: rotating convertible car seat

must have: extended rear facing capability for weight AND must be easy to wash/clean

Backwards wake windows?

my little one is 5 months old +1 week

I thought I had her schedule perfect since she was finally napping for more than 20 minutes but it only lasted a week… her schedule was 2/2.25/2.25/2-2.25 (her last WW is always shorter because she is DONE for the day by then).

then last 2 days I extended her morning wake window to 2.5 and she’s been doing 2.5/2.25/2.25/2h and her naps have been better!

anyone else have a baby similar that has longer morning wake windows in the morning and shorter at night?

I feel like my flap jacks are currently writing this post with how saggy they are… do they ever recoil back just a bit?

How sleep training my colicky baby saved my life...

My baby hated life... let's just say that. Was crying 5+ hours a day. between week 2 and month 2 we couldn't even put her down.. like ever... not even to sleep... she slept on my chest. My husband and I would take shifts so that I could get 3-4h of sleep from 7-11pm and then I would take over the rest of the night and was awake as she slept on me...

She grew out of that around 10 weeks where we were able to finally put her in the bassinet... her colic also improved but still screaming for 1+ hours a day and if we drove anywhere she was screaming,.. or in the stroller... screaming.

Before bedtime and before every nap... SCREAMING so the thought of sleep training scared me because... she has proven she can scream for 5 hours straight before... the idea of letting her do that again scared me because i was soooo sick of hearing her scream.

Around 3 months is when the regression hit (remember the regression is just your babies sleep cycles maturing into adult sleep cycles which have more frequent light sleep cycles where they easily wake up). Well she was waking up every 30 minutes to every hour... I was going insane...

occasionally she would give me a few good nights here and there which helped me push through until she was 4 months. She definitely wasn't ready to self soother prior to 4 months so I do not recommend sleep training prior to (give or take a week im sure its fine doing it a week earlier).

Here is where the ferber method/cry it out saved my life

On July 15th.. I put her down at 7pm... she was up every 30 mins as per usual.. then at around 9pm she was up EVERY 10 MINUTES. I tried putting her down for 2 hours until i said F THIS WERE STARTING SLEEP TRAINING NOW. Are you supposed to start sleep training in the middle of the night? nope but to bad...

July 15: she cried on and off for 1.5h, she woke up around 15-20 times that night. Each wake up after she fell asleep she would cry for about 5-20 mins

July 16: she cried on and off for 27 minutes and fell asleep and only woke up 6 times

July 17: she cried for 7 minutes and fell asleep and only woke up 3 times

July 18 (currently tonight): SHE FELL ASLEEP IN 2 MINUTES. She usually ALWAYS wakes up at the 30 minute mark at the start of the night.. like ALWAYS... NOT TONIGHT!!!! she hasn't woken up yet.

I feel like I have my life back and my sleep anxiety has decreased SUBSTANTIALLY.

10 weeks - it’s worse!! When does it get better

my 10 week olds gas is soooo much worse now and her colic is too… I’ve tried everything

grip water, mylicon/ovol, warm compress, baths, tummy massage, bicycle kicks, Frida windi etc etc EVERYTHING.

she is EBF - i am avoiding all dairy egg and soy. She will not take a bottle, absolutely refuses and she will not take a pacifier

she will not allow us to put her down. she will not sleep unless on top of my chest and even then it takes me forever to settle her

i cant keep going on like this

when does it get better??!!!
