For those of us losing: share your weirdest NSV!!

I am 53 pounds down from my highest weight as of today.

So I decided to come deep sea fishing tonight and I had a lot of stuff to carry onto the boat including my jacket. As I was looking for a way to carry everything, the 90s kid in me got the idea to tie my jacket around my waist. At my heaviest I couldn’t do this-the sleeves weren’t long enough to go around my waist and I could never get a good knot. Well…today…I was able to tie my jacket around my waist!! The weirdest NSV I’ve ever had but I was insanely giddy.

Tell me about your weirdest NSVs!!!

Baby boy name-Zero?💙

Hi everyone,
We’re expecting a baby boy! 💙
We already have a top 4 when it comes to names. One of the names is “Zero”.

We think it’s a cool, strong and powerful name, but part of me is a little worried that people will immediately think of that delicious white chocolate and nougat bar and that he might get teased about it later on.

What do you all think?

Made a decision (I guess?) and now grieving the kids I didn’t have

So, I (38f) was a fence sitter for a long time. Like, years. I was married to a man who insisted that he wanted kids once we had a house, money, and established careers. Once we got those things, though, and I said I was ready, he had completely changed his mind that he absolutely did not want kids. He never told me that he changed his mind until I said that I was ready, which brought up a whole plethora of problems and emotions.

Long story short, we got divorced. It wasn’t just because of the kid thing, but that did bring a lot of underlying issues in our marriage to the surface. Now I am 38 years old, and single. I have been dating but nothing has stuck, and, at 38, most men my age don’t want kids or already have kids. I would still be open to kids, but now I think I’m too old, especially since I’m single.

The other day I was at a baseball game and I saw a kids shirt in the gift shop that I thought was really cute, and I had a weird moment of something almost like grief. Additionally, my best friend has a 6.5 year old and he is a super cool kid, so that kind of brings it up as well.

Seeing my friend with her son makes me think huh, I could have done it after all, and seeing the stuff in the stores just kind of…brings up a lot of emotions for me. It’s almost like I’m grieving a life I didn’t get to have, or the weird feeling of missing kids that never existed. I don’t know how to describe any of it, but it kind of makes me sad and I was curious if anyone else experienced this.

Support canceled the wrong order….

Just a rant here.

I got an order tonight that was about $50 pay, a double order with “Nick,” who had about 35 items, and “Shiela,” who had one item.

Shiela’s item was Freshpet dog food, and the store didn’t have any of what she wanted. I messaged her asking if she wanted a different flavor, and she said that her pup had a sensitive tummy and she needed the one she ordered. Since it was the only item in the order, I called support to remove Shiela’s order.

They removed Nick’s order instead, and the rep said that it was just gone and he couldn’t get it back. So, I spent almost an hour of my life for $7 and had to abandon a nearly fully shopped order. Ugh.

Which episodes make you irrationally angry?

I was doing a rewatch recently and S3E3, Stolen, makes me irrationally angry.

It involves a 12 year old boy who ended up being the victim of an illegal adoption, and the judge ended up taking him away from the only family he knows so that his biological father could raise him. I understand they were all good people but I think it was handled in absolutely the wrong way, and (if it were real life) it would have been incredibly traumatic for the child.

What episode makes you irrationally angry and why?

Ideas for a birthday cake with a specific list of flavors that my friend likes

So my new friend has apparently never in her life had a homemade birthday cake. That is going to change this year!

I asked what her favorite flavors are and she gave me this list. Any ideas how I can put most or all of them together to make a cake? I’m thinking cake, filling, frosting and maybe a ganache drip, so lots of room to work.

Banana
Peanut butter
Chocolate
Coffee
Cream cheese icing
NO strawberries

Thanks in advance!
