UGent kicks out that scientific racist that is also tied to Peter Thiel.
Pls don’t mention his name there are too many Nazis running around on the internet defending this guy. Already had to deal with them in here and on my real substack.
Appointment of controversial “race researcher” questioned by 300 staff and students at Ghent University. This is about the guy who started the hate campaign against Jason Arday.

I hope you guys have caught up with the recent drama in the broader academic social-media community.
I don't want to focus on what happened or whether the criticism was justified. What I think is worth discussing is how we interact with people when social media turns its attention toward them.
When thousands of people are commenting, sharing, criticising and discussing one individual, it's easy to forget that there is a real person on the other side. It also makes me wonder whether some of these conflicts could have been handled differently, with more room for dialogue, accountability and humanity.
Jason Arday died by suicide. I think that should make us pause and reflect on how we treat people online, particularly when an entire social-media community turns its attention toward one person.
In any case, RIP Jason Arday.
The Great Debate: Are Ants Communists or Imperialist Pests?
Inspired by one of my older classics, “Why Dolphins Aren’t Communists (and Never Will Be!)”, I decided it was time for another investigation into the political nature of the animal kingdom.
Here is the link to the dolphin debate: https://www.reddit.com/r/TankieTheDeprogram/s/CK1shWI3WP
This time, however, in true ML spirit, I don’t want to jump to conclusions. Before we reach a final position, we must hold a proper debate in accordance to the principles of democratic centralism.
So, what is your opinion on ants?
Are they an example of communist organization?
Or are they actually tiny imperialist pests, ruthlessly expanding their territory, exploiting other species, and maintaining a brutal caste system under the command of an unelected queen?
The floor is open. Debate begins now.

[News From Belgium] The USA Celebrated the 250th Anniversary of “Independence” Here in Brussels…by Shutting Down One of the Largest and Most Popular Parks and the Residential Area Surrounding It (After a Massive Heatwave)
(Hello there, if you are not already familiar with my posts I report on stuff that happens in Belgium. Also apologies if this is the wrong tag)
Yep, as the title says. Last weekend the US embassy to Belgium blocked and shutdown one of the most popular parks in the centre of Brussels. The Cinquantenaire Park , and the surrounding residential area. This was done in order to celebrate the United States 250^(th) anniversary of Independence. Because nothing else screams Independence Day of the USA more than celebrating it abroad in a foreign nation…The preparations were constructed by workers during the heatwave that plagued Europe.
The festivities started right after the last day of the heatwave, the day where Belgian residents were finally able to open their windows. Around 9000 people attended. The people on the Brussels subreddit are complaining about the fact that a foreign government is celebrating their independence in our park, the blocked traffic, the noise, the fireworks and not being able to relax and sleep with open windows. The use fireworks were also controversial since in Belgium most of the time it is not allowed to use fireworks.
Overall, it is weird to see the USA celebrating their Independence Day in the “capital of Europe”... Though If you think more in detail about it, this was a demonstration of dominion over European politics. The sponsors were there for networking and to embed themselves further into the European industry.
The guests present were
- The United States Ambassador to Belgium, Bill White (a very controversial figure here in Belgium)
- NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte
- Prime minister of Belgium Bart de Wever
- Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot
- And Trump sent a video message
Extinction Rebellion and other groups were protesting the celebration
Other than that, the sponsors of the festival were the usual suspects like Meta, Google, Nike, McDonalds etc… and many more ( u can see them in other pictures)
also journalists criticising the festival were attacked
You can find a lot more about it in the Belgian news and on social media.
Anyhow leave your thoughts below….
What do you think about it?
(Also, apologies if my English sounds like shit today, I’m rather unfocused)
