I'm so miserable to be around now

I've been struggling with daily migraines for a few months now. Every day with no relief. Yes, I've tried preventatives and abortives and all the other tricks, no they haven't really worked. I'm going to see a new neurologist who specializes in migraines in October, so maybe she will help.

Migraines have taken everything from me. I'm not active now, my hobbies aren't worth the energy, I can't enjoy days out because of the sun and smells. Basically everything triggers a migraine unless I lay in bed in a dark room all day. I'm irritated and depressed all the time and probably miserable to be around for my husband. I don't know what to do. I'm only 21 and this is taking away my life.

Day 15 of status migraine

I am going insane, this is the worst migraine of my life. I've tried droperidol, dexamethasone, flexerill, magnesium, benadryl (all under neurologist supervision), ibuprofen, rest, heat, ice, stretching, carbs and sugar and salt and caffeine, Tylenol. Nothing is helping. I'm so dizzy and nauseous that I'm barely sleeping and am losing weight from not being hungry. What else can I try? I'm desperate.

Neurologist keeps prescribing steroids as an abortive?

Hello!

I am new to migraines, about a year out. After being on aimovig and propanolol for the last 6 months, I only get a few migraines a month. Whenever one turns into a status migraine (3-30 days for me usually) I will ask for help from my neuro. I always try ibuprofen/heat and ice /exercise/ carbs and caffeine and salt/ waiting it out before I reach out. He always prescribes a steroid though, which I feel is harmful to take every other month? I failed two triptans, so maybe that's why.

Just got diagnosed today

Hello!

I have had chronic migraines, dizziness, neurological symptoms and POTS for a year and a half now. My migraines have been somewhat managed over the last 6 months, but after a 9 days migraine I decided to visit the ER.

My CT scan there showed mild chiari 1, and they sent me home still in pain. They said I have had this, but they just didn't tell me about it.

What should I know from fellow chiari sufferers? I believe this could be causing my migraines as it fits the typical chiari head pain location and triggers. What do you guys do for migraine relief?

Will the ER be mad if I go for status migraine?

For reference, my chronic migraines have been under control for 7+ months on aimovig. I do all I can to minimize them and usually I'll have 1-2 day migraines, but I'm having an 8 day migraine right now. My rescue meds won't be in until Wednesday and it's causing a lot of issues I won't go into. Will the ER be upset or annoyed if I go there for a migraine? I can't wait another week.

Birth Control Patch Day Two

Hello!

I just started the estrogen and progesterone patch yesterday. Since then, I've felt so so anxious and an impending sense of doom. Like I'm so terrified my husband suddenly doesn't love me anymore to the point of a panic attack

Is this normal??? Do I sit it out???

Is it worth it?

I've had chronically swollen tonsils since I was a child. I also got strep very frequently. This year, I've had easily 30+ stones a day. I brush, floss, mouthwash, cut out dairy, all the tricks. I have also had a tonsil infection not responsive to antibiotics for 4 months now with swollen tonsils, sore throat and pus and fever.

Is it worth the tonsillectomy? It seems so painful for adults and I'm very scared of hemmoraging.

I think I have the worst luck in the world

I am now almost one month post op and still struggling.

Just before week 2, I developed dry socket in my lower socket. I wasn't able to see my dentist for a few days, and by the time I could it needed scraped out to start again. So by week three, I was still on soft foods and it still hurt. After the dry socket started healing a little, I started feeling pretty sick. I ignored it for a few days because I figured my body is going through a lot with all of this, but low and behold I have a double tonsil infection from the stress of the debriding.

Now I'm on antibiotics and praying my socket starts to heal a little. I'm never looking at a jello cup again after this.

After dry socket, I'm back at square one

I got dry socket on day 6. It is now day 12 and my dentist finally was able to see me. They said my tissue was messed up, so they had to debride the socket. Basically scraping and vacuuming the socket and bone. Like I said, I was on day 12!!! Now I'm back at square one. Soft foods, no straws etc. I'm literally going crazy. On top of that, they gave me nothing for the dry socket pain, not even clove salve. So now I have the pain of that and a new socket.

Day 9 I just flushed out my blood clot

I had eaten oatmeal for lunch and went to flush my sockets out and a huge blood clot came out of my bottom socket. I haven't eaten anything red, so that's all it could be. My jaw hurts really bad now and my dentist is out for the weekend.

What should I do? Will it heal on its own?

After a dose of steroids, my POTS is now mild??

I know this is going to sound crazy.

To preface, I do not condone taking steroids without a doctor's approval, I know this is not a treatment for POTS, I am just looking for answers or maybe others who have had the same experience.

For the last year and a half, POTS wrecked my life. I couldn't drive, I lost my job, it strained my relationships. I spent most days in bed, exhausted, in pain. My heart rate, even medicated, was insane, I fainted often, my blood pressure was always out of whack. In addition, I dealt with fevers, rashes, migraines, swollen lymph nodes, etc. which are not symptoms of POTS.

I saw two doctors who both diagnosed me with POTS. My heart is normal, just fast. I tried so many medications which didn't work, I moved, I tried to exercise, I changed my diet, I chugged water and downed salt, I tried EVERYTHING to get my life back.

Two months ago I spent a week on IV steroids to cure a status migraine. After this, my fevers have been gone, my heart rate is more level, I'm not nearly as tired or in pain anymore, the rashes have gone away. I feel almost NORMAL for the first time in forever. I can hike now, I can work a full time job on my feet now, I can workout again. It's mind blowing and I'm so grateful.

But why did it work?

My PCP thinks maybe my immune system is overactive, which when untreated made my POTS worse. Maybe it was something else entirely.

Has anyone else had this happen?? Am I crazy??

Pain and bleeding on day 6?

Hello!

I had my WT out on Friday. It went smoothly, no impactions, and I managed with no pain taking only ibuprofen until Monday. Since then, the pain has gotten worse every day. It's like a very sensitive, bruised throbbing in my teeth, and a sharp pain in my jaw on the bottom left. I woke up today with blood coming out of my mouth and all over my pillow, which hasn't happened since day one.

My bottom left extraction looks clean, but it's still very deep with nothing inside the hole.

Normal day 4 socket?

I feel like it's not closing up, and this one hurts more than the others. My dentist said to flush my sockets today, and this one has like nothing but some gray film in the bottom.

My top non basic meals for recovery

If you're sick of jello, pudding and mashed potatoes here are some meals I made during recovery

Liquids:

Matcha with strawberry cold foam. It feels like more sustenance than just juice, and it's very tasty!

Konjac jelly pouches. Be sure to really break it up and don't suck the jelly out! Just dump it in your mouth. It's tasty and really filling.

Smoothie thickened with extra ice, add whipped cream on top. This has nutrients but isn't purely sweet. Eating it with a spoon makes it feel like a meal. I got sick of ice cream pretty fast so the tanginess of a fruit smoothie is nice.

Puree foods/very soft:

Refried beans, seasoned, mashed, with queso on top! Very good, especially if you're sick of mashed potatoes and sweet stuff.

Dinner rolls soaked in chicken broth. You don't have to chew them, it's very good.

Banana cream pudding. You can buy banana pudding, add whipped cream, and mash a banana in there for a nice dessert.

Mashed green beans, small bites of very cooked meatloaf. Top meal during recovery for me so far.

Is it normal for one socket to hurt a lot worse?

For reference, I got my remaining three teeth (both upper, and one lower) out on Friday, three days ago. My bottom right was rotated so it was tough to take out.

I've had very little pain until today, just taking ibuprofen as needed, and following the rules to a T. Today my upper right socket pain went from a 1 to a 6 with medication. Is this normal?

I don't know where to get help to recover

Hello

As the title says, I don't know where or how to get the first steps to recovery. I have struggled with ana for five years now, and I won't go into numbers or specifics, but it is affecting my health at this point. I've had therapists for CBT which wasn't helpful, so I don't know what to try at this point.

For context, I have a diagnosis and I live in the US.

First yeast infection

Hello!

I'm pretty sure I have my first yeast infection. I have itching/soreness and the discharge that's typically associated. I also have a fever, fatigue, and lack of appetite.

What should I do? What helps with any of this?

I need a tonsillectomy but I'm too scared

Hello.

I'm hoping that by posting here, I can hear from people (adults) who have made it through a tonsillectomy ok.

I just found out yesterday that the cause of my two years of migraines, severe fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes is my tonsils are so swollen, I'm not breathing right when sleeping. I get 30 tonsils stones a day, no jokes. Frequent sore throats, constant itchiness in my throat, etc.

I am 21 though and after researching tonsillectomies for the past day, I'm terrified to get one. The long recovery, the pain, and I'm SO SCARED of hemmoraging. I already bleed easily due to other issues.

Is the death rate low? Will everything be ok/is it worth it?

It took me MONTHS to figure out what was causing my night sweats. Every time I take my aimovig injection, I will have drench the sheets night sweats for about two weeks, then nothing, then the cycle starts over again.

I love aimovig because it's been very helpful in reducing migraines, but the side effect is crazy!
