LOBHA OUT NOW

Submission Statement —
LOBHA
LOBHA is a Kannada psychological horror film built around a simple idea: greed does not destroy a person all at once—it takes away everything they value, one piece at a time.
The film follows Advaith, whose seemingly small act of greed sets him on a disturbing psychological journey. As his sleep, appetite, relationships, and eventually his grip on reality begin to deteriorate, the line between psychological breakdown and something supernatural becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish. Rather than relying solely on conventional horror, LOBHA uses fear as a way to explore guilt, obsession, and the consequences of wanting more than we need.
The film was made with virtually no budget and was shot entirely on an iPhone 14 Pro Max. Working with such limitations became an important part of the filmmaking process. Every location, frame, sound, and performance had to be approached creatively, with the intention of proving that scale does not necessarily determine the impact of a story.
At the heart of the film is Chetan, who plays Advaith. Chetan is not only the lead actor but also my roommate and someone who has been part of every film we have made together. Our creative partnership has grown through each project, and his understanding of the character and willingness to experiment were essential to bringing Advaith’s gradual deterioration to life.
The film was cinematographed by Chiranth Satish, whose visual approach helped us create an unsettling atmosphere despite our extremely limited resources. His work allowed us to make the most of the locations and available light while maintaining the psychological and claustrophobic tone of the film.
LOBHA is ultimately a film about how greed can begin with something seemingly insignificant and slowly consume every part of a person’s life. It is our attempt to create an intimate, atmospheric horror film with nothing more than a story, a phone, a small team, and the determination to see it through.

Shots from my recent short film we shot using iPhone 14 Pro Max

“LOBHA” is finally out.
A psychological horror film about greed, shot entirely on an iPhone 14 Pro Max with no budget.
No fancy equipment, no big production setup — just a small team trying to make the best film we could with whatever we had.
The film is in Kannada with English subtitles, so you can watch it even if you don’t speak Kannada.
It’s a 24-minute film, and getting it from an idea to a finished movie was honestly a journey. There were a lot of limitations, compromises, and moments where we weren’t sure if we’d even be able to finish it.
But we did.
We’re incredibly proud of what we managed to pull off with almost nothing.
If you’re interested in independent filmmaking, especially what can be achieved with a phone and virtually no budget, I’d love to answer questions about how we shot it, edited it, graded it, recorded the sound, or put the whole thing together.
LOBHA is now available on YouTube.

Would genuinely love to hear what you think.
