Saying goodbye to an old friend. My final Tastes 4 Tickets
Just used my final Tastes 4 Tickets. I'm gonna miss these lil guys. They've been serving us very well every week for years. Nothing like plunking down a few dollars on the table and then immediately heading out to the game floor as soon as you're done eating, because no check is needed. Meal is fully comped when you handed your server one of these things. D&B may have gotten rid of my beloved spicy burger but their other smash burgers are still some of the best burgers around if you ask me. I stockpiled 100+ of these things redeemed @ 2,200 tickets each when they discontinued them last year
First time setting a new all time high score.
Also apparently when you set a new top score it jumps the big win score all the way up to the top score. Oops... that's gonna take a while to come down
Collector's Call no longer seems to be produced in native HD as of S07E09 (Garner Holt - Disney Animatronics), airing June 14, 2026. S07E08 (AJ Weir - Sneakers/Sports) was the last episode they aired that wasn't being upscaled from 16:9 standard definition.
slow.picsThe AQI is the worst it's ever been on record in Gurnee today, peaking above 600, and Six Flags is still open. Is operating rollercoasters considered "essential work" by OSHA?
Is there a way to simultaneously synchronize SMS / RCS text messaging across a variety of different devices like WhatsApp, Telegram, etc. can? Is routing phone calls to multiple devices at once possible?
So here's the deal. Unfortunately I find when dealing with the Americans that they insist on using this primitive phone number based system of communicating with each other called "SMS" or "RCS" instead of using a modern account-based messaging software that works across numerous different devices simultaneously. (i.e. Discord, Telegram, etc.)
The primary problem with this method of communicating with one another of course, besides all the various issues with file size limitations, the extra ease in which it allows government surveillance, etc. is that RCS/SMS text messaging seems to be tied to a single phone number and that phone number is tied to a single device and there is poor support for using anything other than a single smartphone. Unlike other programs, such as Telegram, I have been unsuccessful in finding a solution so that I can receive communications sent via RCS messaging to all of my devices simultaneously -- Android tablet, Windows desktop, multiple phones, a VR headset. With Telegram this is not a problem as there are apps for all of these devices available and I receive a message sent to my Telegram account across all of them. I just open Telegram no matter which device I am on and I can communicate and read years of message history whenever I want.
I am not always on my phone, or my tablet, or my PC, but I am usually using one of them at any given time. There will sometimes be entire days when I don't even look at a phone but I've been on my tablet or PC that day. I don't even have a single phone. I have multiple smartphones, and two phone lines, so some days I won't even have the right phone on my person for communicating with someone via this method. They'll be wanting to talk to me but I will be out and about with a completely different phone and the phone number they are trying to talk to will be on the phone that I've left at home sitting in a drawer. Americans who message me often take a long time, sometimes days, to get a response back from me because of this poor cross-platform support. SMS/RCS communication has been taking the whole "instant" out of "instant messaging" for me.
Don't even get me started on if they want to engage in an actual audio call with me. How am I supposed to talk to someone when they want to call me, but they're using the standard phone line system but I'm sitting in the other room on my PC or I'm not even in the same house with that same phone and phone number on me? If they call me on Telegram, all of my devices will ring and I can answer wherever I am with whichever device I have on me.
Southridge Mall (Milwaukee) is total ass now. They went too hard on nerfing the skill crane machines.
Is there new management? They've overhauled the skill cranes for the worse. At least half of them are a straight up scam now -- altered to be unwinnable. The turkey legs have had an extra leg added that makes it impossible to push down the prizes. Hint pictures have been removed.
Other skill cranes have been modified to require numerous tries to win. Pipe in the hole distances have been increased and they are now using a claw that flies and shakes all over the place for them. Hooks to lift a lid off boxes distance also greatly increased. U bolt hooks have been altered with super weak claws that will barely move them and they now have to be pushed far down a pipe. Requires many plays to push the U bolts across the pipe. Drop the box in the holes are positioned ridiculous now, instead of parallel with the bars they are now perpendicular. I don't know how you would even push that into a winnable position. I didn't test the drop rate on the payout claws or the ping pong ball machines to see if they have found a way to rig those too. Ping pong ball claws are usually pure luck but the sad thing is they might be the most winnable ones now.
Wasted a whole reload with nothing to show for it. I tried every type of skill crane and they're all rigged horribly now. There's a balance between being a profitable arcade and straight up scamming the player with impossible to win claws. I won't be returning until they find a more reasonable balance. A player that spends $100 on the claws and doesn't even win one prize is not going to be a repeat customer.
Honestly... I think it's the best tres leches cake I've ever had
D&B's desserts menu this year has been on fire... I used to skip their desserts because I thought they were mid but the new tres leches cake, brookie sundae tower, and the banana foster pie are all really good
