How many records do you have on constant rotation?

With classical being so big, different eras, composers, pieces and even different records for the same piece i assume you don't listen to all of your library equally, so how many records do y'all consider your core repertoire? the records you keep listening to daily or on average? for me I'd say it's like 20 that i pass by weekly, can be stretched to 50ish depending on mood.

What makes kleiber's beethoven 5th so special?

Like everyone else when i first got into beethoven I've heard about this record, and what an experience it was, both of the performance and of the piece itself, but I've only ever listened to it, so much so that I didn't even think that there are other pieces of the piece worth hearing! I'm no expert, so I don't know why people worship this recording, to my ears it's perfect, like i literally can't tell a single problem with it, but then again i can't compare it with anything.

So is this what makes it so special? are there other recordings should i check (only if the performance at least matches it not just for listening sake).

Tone poems recommendations

I've found i listen to tone poems more and more, relatively short pieces that are enjoyable from start to finish when i'm commuting, currently i've listened to Scheherazade, Pines and Fountains of Rome, Isle of the Dead, Pictures at an exhibition (ravel orch), just a few from the top of my head.
Please shower me with other works, thanks!

Edit: Thanks y'all! i'm sorry i'm too lazy to reply to each one but i've read the replies and i'll make sure to check strauss and sibelius, i forgot to mention that i love a lot or ravel and debussy, and also a lot of spanish stuff (who are written by french composers??)

classical period recommendation

Hello! I've noticed that i don't have any classical period records in my collection, i have basically a lot of romantic with some baroque and a tiny bit of 20th century, so what pieces would y'all recommend i start with? preferably with what record would you recommend for that piece.
I love pretty melodic music, something lush and beautiful, or something dramatic and emotional depending on the mood, i list to pretty much all types of classical except opera (prefer to see video than record) and choral, thanks!

Multiple versions of the same work on qobuz

I was looking for some heifetz works on qobuz, the brahms tchaikovsky violin concertos, and i've found multiple version of the same works, many coupled or seperate versions, some 16 bit and some hi-res, how do i know which version to pick? is there a different mastering for each one? and in how to know the best version of works in general?

Does headphones choice make a huge difference?

I have you average cheap consumer headphones (oraimo boompop lite to be exact), do you think the headphones choice makes a huge difference? like you wouldn't listen to classical on normal hardware? am i missing a lot to justify buying audiophile headphones? let me know what you think!

Edit: At most i can afford the koss KSC75, will they do or should i save until i can afford better ones?

Music genres for bad headphones

I have terrible headphones (oraimo boompop lite), the only genre i listen to is classical, which sounds terrible on them, so i would like to explore new genres that sound at least decent even on mediocre headphones

Edit: i'm thinking about exploring mono, specifically jazz, what do y'all think?

Unfortunately the only way I can experience classical is through digital format, and I'm thinking about getting my music from qobuz, are y'all familiar with their quality? Do they have high quality masters? And if they don't is there a better replacement?

For reference I 99% of the time listen to RCA living stereo, mercury living presence and old Decca (with some DG in there)

The living stereo series is just straight up my favorite in all of music not just classical, wonderful playing and audiophile sound even for today, I'm always looking to expand my collection so tell me your favorites

Which pianists living today (or recently dead) will be seen as the best of their times, the richters and arrau's of our time

Edit: Can you also explain the why behind your choice?

Hello! I'm new to classical so I'm still figuring out how to pick the best records of pieces I like, I'm a huge piano fan and would like your recommendations for some of my composers:

Chopin (nocturnes, ballades, etudes, preludes...)

Liszt (sonata, Annes de pelerinage, transcendental etudes, Hungarian rhapsodies)

Beethoven (piano sonatas)

Schumann (too many to liszt)

I would like great interpretations with excellent sound, or this best balance of both, just the best way to experience the works overall, please share your recommendations that fit the bill or feel free to give a advice on general how to find the works, thanks

Edit: feel free to recommend other composers or works, I really love the romantic and beautiful works

Edit2: If I had to pick one I'd pick better interpretation, but I also want great sound to demonstrate it
