5 Days PP-Poor Supply?

FTM, had my sweet boy 9/27. Planned to breast feed + pump to start building a supply. Birth weight: 7lb 13oz, at first appt down to 7lb 5oz & then we had a repeat appt 2 days later and down to 7lb 1.4oz. We talked about supplementing an additional 1oz at each feed (formula or pumped breast milk), and have since initiated it.

I pump after every feed during the day (every 3 hours) and every other feed at night (usually only skip 1 or 2). The pattern from my last few outputs has been: 30mL—>56mL—>34mL—>20mL—>35mL.

Again, these are post nursing pumps, but does this mean i’ll kinda always make around this amount? I was hoping to build up a little bit of supply but I really just make just enough to supplement. I am sure it’s early but does this mean I won’t ever make more?

I’m currently using the spectra s1 pump (blue). I also have: eufy s1pro, willow, & hand pump (have had 0 success with). i’m hesitant to try a different pump bc I know my spectra is at least semi reliable.

Thoughts? Ways to increase production? Have been: drinking lots of water, eating protein, eating lactation oat balls with brewers yeast, drinking body armor.

Team Green & just want opinions!

34 week FTM & just wanting opinions on our names! I’d say we are like 99.9% settled on them, but just want to hear opinions!

If we have a boy: Noah Christopher. My husbands suggestion/pick, I’m certain it’s after Noah Kahan but he won’t confirm or deny. Christopher is my husbands name. I know it’s common, but classic, & I love it. Wish there were a few more nicknames, but those come naturally anyway so who knows.

If we have a girl: Joelle June. Really struggled with a first name (which is so weird bc I love so many girl names). June is after my moms birth month, as well as the month we started dating. I love the nick name options (JJ, JoJo, Elle, etc.) At first I was a little nervous about the “exotic dancer” vibes but then I got over it and decided I love the name, and don’t plan to refer to her as her first & middle name together often.

Thoughts? Opinions? Have only told parents the name as I don’t really want opinions from friends/family, but for some reason open to them from the internet lol

Pumping bag with detachable cooler?

Hi! FTM & planning to pump. Already thinking about going back to work after maternity leave and need help finding a bag to bring my pump, parts, bottles, etc! I work night shift 12 hours as a nurse. I think I would like something with a detachable cooler because I do have access to refrigerators so I can pop that part in there, but I wouldn’t think i’d want the entire pump in the fridge (right??)

Probability of GD?

hi! i’m 25 week FTM, have my test in 4 days. I am overweight as well as have a diagnosis of PCOS. Was taking metformin up until 12 weeks (when my reproductive endocrinologist said to stop). I have always assumed I will get GD, and while I have *tried* to be mindful of eating, pregnancy has made it even harder than normal. Anytime i’ve had blood work done, my fasting BG has been good, always under 100. My A1C was 5.4 I believe.

Last night I ended up in the OB triage for decreased fetal movement (probably unnecessary at 25 weeks, but I was panicking and spiraling). The ran a urinalysis where I had trace glucose in my urine. Notably, I had just traveled on our baby moon for a week where I ate like garbage the whole weekZ

Do all of these things definitely mean I have GD? I know I will get the answers in 4 days, but just wanting to hear others advice. Not asking for diagnosis based on labs results of course, just anecdotal support if anyone has been in the same boat?

Recs for plus size moms?

For reference, I’m 5’10, pre pregnancy 2X, around size 20-24 depending on brand. My current ones i’m looking at are: hope & plum or tula. I would like recommendations for both a newborn carrier and one that grows with us! FTM due in October & this has been the hardest for me to research so far!

*bonus points if you know of a great plus size breast feeding pillow :)*
