Don't understand how Rajiv Gandhi is associated with Hyderabad Airport
Rajiv Gandhi is not born in Hyderabad or any Telugu state. He never contested from anywhere in Telugu states. He was just prime minister of India. Hyderabad was also part of it.
If you see other cities' airports, every other city has been named after a person who has some connection with the city or the place. For example:
- Chhatrapati Shivaji Mumbai airport
- Subhash Chandra Bose Kolkata airport
- Kampagowda Bangalore airport
Hyderabad airport could be named after PV Narsimha Rao, who hailed from Hyderabad, or it could be named after N.T. Rama Rao, who was a Guinness World Record holder because of his achievement. There are so many other leaders and successful people who hailed from Hyderabad.
