Looking for someone to talk, walk & connect with

I’m a 21M living in Kathmandu, and lately I’ve been feeling pretty lonely. I’m just looking for someone genuine who can listen, talk about random things, go for walks, grab a coffee, or simply hang out without any pressure.

I don’t expect anything complicated just hoping to meet someone I can genuinely connect with and have good conversations with. If you’re also looking for a friend or someone to talk to, feel free to DM me. :)

BHM Student Looking for Direct Casual Work Opportunities in Hotels/Banquets (Kathmandu)

Hi everyone,

I'm a BHM student currently studying in Kathmandu. Over the past year, I've worked as casual staff in several 5-star hotels and banquet venues. The experience has been great, and I've learned a lot about hospitality and F&B service.

However, the issue is that most of the work comes through middlemen/coordinators who take a large portion of the payment. After working long shifts, I usually receive only around Rs. 600–700, which feels unfair compared to the actual amount paid by the hotel or banquet.

I'm looking for direct contacts or ways to get casual work without going through these agents, so I can receive the full payment for my work.

If anyone knows:

Hotels that hire casual staff directly

Banquet halls that contact workers themselves

WhatsApp/Facebook groups for direct hotel casual jobs

Any tips for finding fair casual work in Kathmandu

I'd really appreciate your help.

Thank you! 🙏

Will having two stars on my Physics marksheet affect my future?

Hi everyone,

I'm from Nepal and I have a question about my NEB Class 12 marksheet.

In Physics, I failed the regular board exam and then also failed the first supplementary/back exam. Later, I passed on another attempt. Because of this, my marksheet has two stars (*) next to Physics.

I'm currently studying a Bachelor, but I'm worried about whether these stars could cause problems in the future.

Will this affect:

Private jobs in Nepal?

Master's admissions?

Student or work visas?

Has anyone been in a similar situation or knows how employers and universities view this?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Looking for a Part-Time Job in Hospitality While Studying

Hi everyone,

I'm a 21-year-old student currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management in Kathmandu. I'm looking for a part-time job that I can do alongside my studies, preferably in a café, restaurant, hotel, or any hospitality-related business.

I'm particularly interested in gaining experience in the Food & Beverage Service department, but I'm open to other hospitality roles as well. I'm eager to learn, hardworking, and willing to start in an entry-level position.

My college hours are from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, so I'm available after that.

If anyone knows of any openings or can suggest places that hire students, I'd really appreciate your help. Feel free to comment or send me a message.

Thank you!

I'm in my early 20s and curious about the lessons people wish they had learned sooner. It could be about relationships, money, career, health, friendships, or life in general.

What's the most useful thing you've learned in your 20s, and how did it change your life?

Am I wasting my life studying BHM in Nepal?

I honestly feel lost.

I'm a boy from Kathmandu, currently studying BHM and I'm in my 4th semester. Like many students, I chose this field hoping it would help me build a better future. My family and I are investing around 6–7 lakh rupees into this degree, which is a huge amount of money for us.

But lately, reality has been hitting me hard.

The more I talk to seniors and people already working in the industry, the more hopeless I feel. Most of them tell me that after graduation, the jobs available in Nepal are mainly waiter, housekeeping, kitchen helper, front office staff, and other entry-level hospitality positions. There's nothing wrong with these jobs, and I respect everyone who works hard. But after spending years studying and investing lakhs of rupees, hearing that the starting salary is only around Rs. 15,000–18,000 per month is honestly heartbreaking.

Sometimes I sit alone and calculate everything in my head.

Years of study. Lakhs of rupees spent. Assignments, exams, internships, stress, and sleepless nights.

And then the reward is a salary that barely covers basic living expenses.

I feel scared about my future. I look around and see people moving abroad, building careers, earning decent incomes, and supporting their families. Meanwhile, I'm stuck wondering whether I'm walking toward a future that will leave me exhausted, underpaid, and regretting my choices.

The thought that hurts the most is not the hard work itself. I'm not afraid of working hard. What scares me is working endlessly and still not being able to build the life I dream of.

Maybe I'm overthinking. Maybe I'm being impatient. Or maybe I'm finally seeing reality.

If anyone here studied hospitality, especially those who moved abroad, I genuinely need your advice.

Was BHM worth it for you? Did you find opportunities outside Nepal? What would you do if you were in my position right now?

I feel stuck between continuing this path and questioning whether I'm investing my youth into something that won't give me a future.

I don't want sympathy. I just want honest advice from people who have already walked this road.

Thank you for reading.

Right now, I don't fear hard work. I fear waking up 10 years from now and realizing I worked hard for a life I never wanted. 💔

Looking for a genuine relationship after a long break any advice?

Hey everyone,

I’m from Nepal, and after going through a breakup around 2–3 years ago (the relationship lasted about 1.5 years), I finally feel ready to get back into a relationship.

Over the past few months, I’ve tried using different dating apps, but honestly, most profiles seem fake, inactive, or not serious about anything meaningful. It’s been pretty frustrating and disappointing. I’m not looking for time pass or casual stuff I genuinely want a real and meaningful connection with someone who is honest and serious about a relationship.

I also feel like in Nepal, it’s a bit harder to find genuine people online compared to other places. Maybe I’m using the wrong approach or platforms.

So I wanted to ask:

What are some better ways to meet genuine people nowadays?

Are there any good platforms, or is it better to focus on meeting people in real life (like college, events, etc.)?

I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences 🙏

TL;DR:

I'm from Nepal, after a breakup a few years ago, I’m ready for a serious relationship but dating apps feel fake. Looking for better ways to meet genuine people.
