I hit my kid today and I don't know what to do

So background is that I'm a 100% solo parent and I'm very tolerant and understanding of age appropriate behavior. I don't always have enough support outside of daycare hours when I'm working for me time to recharge. I am extremely morally against corporal punishment although physical punishment was used on me growing up (more like overly aggressive restraining than hitting). Important: I'm also a DV survivor and was diagnosed less than a year ago with CPTSD, which I'm in the process of seeking treatment for (very few resources where I live, long waiting lists).

So to today, my kiddo is 2.3 and he's very into hitting, biting, pinching, grabbing, climbing on me, screeching etc. Developmentally normal 2-year old stuff. I redirect and explain appropriate behavior. It's really important to teach him to respect me and today I failed really badly. We had an easy morning, he got lots of attention while we read books and ate breakfast outdoors. Mid-morning I really wanted time to recline with a coffee and to read my grown up book. He wouldn't stop climbing on me, wasn't responding to redirection. At one point while I was sipping my coffee, he smacked the cup hard into my teeth. As a DV survivor the impact to my face was really, really triggering to me (normally kiddo smacks me in the arm and not nearly that hard) and out of pure reflex I smacked him in the face. What scares me is that it wasn't a decision, it was a split-second reflex from my primal brain defending myself from a perceived threat.

We both dissolved into tears and I apologized and we cuddled for a long time. He's over it now (this happened 45 minutes ago) but I'm still shaken and crying. I feel like I have a low tolerance for hitting relative to people without C-PTSD and I wish there was some way to fix hitting behavior quickly. But it's impossible to just shut it down instantly. I feel like such a bad mom and person and I don't trust myself.

I'm really not looking for advice, I feel like I know all the parenting advice to address hitting in toddlers. I don't need any therapy advice, I have medical professionals for that. I guess I'd like to hear that it's going to be okay, and maybe if anyone else has had an isolated experience like this and the reaction didn't happen again, please tell me because I'm most scared about it happening again.

Where do you look for deals on vacation rentals in Mazatlán?

Hola!

I have a 2 bedroom house near the beach in downtown historic district of Mazatlán. I'm looking for new places to advertise the house for vacation rentals between now and January, when my monthly rental season starts. The price is VERY good for the amenities and location, but it's new and I still need more bookings and good reviews. So I am asking those of you who love to travel to Mazatlán, where do you look when you're searching for a nice place and a nice price in Mazatlán?

Gracias!

Could this be the cause of weak AC?

The AC is noticeably weaker this year than last summer. It's primarily downstairs where the vents are unfortunately on the floor (upstairs vents are all on the ceiling and work fine). When I looked inside the vents, there seems to be pieces of insulation inside the vents? I'm not sure what the stuff is that looks like a bundle of chicken wire and charcoal filter? I wasn't expecting to find that. Pics are the vents from 3 different rooms downstairs.

How can I get real info about cartel violence?

I have a casa in Mazatlan but I'm not in the country right now. I learned there's been an uptick in cartel violence in the past 2 weeks. I heard from my neighbor this week someone was shot at a restaurant near my house a couple of days ago. She also told me that cartels are targeting tourists for the first time, and that outside of the city they are finding thousands of murdured bodies. The last story especially sounds like gossip and I'm not finding any detailed reports in the newspapers I've read.

What have you all heard?

Looking to learn about boats

Hey, I'm new here.

I've spent a lot of time on catamarans (like 8-night long trips and countless day trips) and other small marine fishing boats, but always as a passenger. While I've picked up a lot about boats, I don't know a whole lot about boats broadly, and need more info on the right type of boat for my purposes.

I have a vacation rental near the beach in a popular vacation city in Mexico and had a dream to start boat yoga tours. So I would need a boat with a completely flat section of deck minimum 240 sq feet / 22.3 sq meters.

Does a boat like this exist? Could a catamaran be modified with a flat deck built on top without affecting other factors like buoyancy or wind resistance?

The boat would be in the sea in mild conditions and traveling short distances each trip.

Appreciate any insight to help determine the feasibility of this dream.

Jewpiter isn't safe to post satire anymore

My account got a warning after a satirical comment on a satirical post. I replied mocking popular conspiracy theories to the "Jews control Israel" post. My comment was reported by a lurking Jew hater and removed within a matter of a couple hours. Meanwhile, reddit mods allow Jew hate to run rampant with no consequences across reddit. Absolutely disgusting, hateful, and bullying move by reddit mods.

I love this sub, love our people, but I feel very uncomfortable being closely surveilled and punished for parroting what antisemites write freely across reddit.
