Rust Painting Tips Sought

I'm looking for some advice on painting better rust (and damage) effects.

I futzed around with this attempt way too much and sort of lost the plot and got discouraged and gave up.

So I'm hoping to get some advice on how to render rust, dirt, and damage better.

Tabletop Wargaming Group?

Hey Stratford, I'm wondering if there are any local groups that play stuff like Warhammer here in town?

Ideally a group that is old-person friendly and welcomes 50+ players who are not up to date on the current rules and miniatures...

I've been going through my stuff with the intent to sell it off but figured I'd check first if there's a chance to use them.

Thanks :)

ID Help Request

Can anyone identify any of these Elf miniatures? I think the far right one with the bird is part of a chariot set, but I'm not sure.

I've been able to find and ID the majority of my old elves but these 4 are eluding me!

WFB Where to Identify Miniatures?

I have some old Warhammer Fantasy Battle (80s) armies and wondering about a resource to help identify them.

The Stuff Of Legends site doesn't have listings for Elves, which is the current army I'm cataloguing for selling purposes. Is there another good resource for old mini identification?

Q for eBay Buyers & Sellers

Those that buy and sell Oldhammer miniatures on eBay, how do you prefer listings? Do you like to trade in individual minis, small groups like units (say 5-10 individuals), or large lots like armies?

It's time for me to accept that I will never actually play Warhammer Fantasy, 40K, or Blood Bowl ever again and so shouldn't be wasting precious storage space with nostalgia, therefore am thinking of selling my collection to get some extra money to supplement my disability benefits income.

So I'm curious what might be my best method for listing (meaning a balance between potential sale price and easiest way to list), so how do you like buying or selling?

Premium Family Plan How to Add Users

How do I add my wife's profile to my family plan? She wants to start using YTM and I can't figure out how to add her to the plan so we can have our own YTM profiles.

This is What I Pay $60/month For with Telus

Power is currently out so am reliant on my Telus mobility service.

Apparently this is what $60/m gets me.

Using "Collectable" Toys

Do you have old toys that could be considered classic or collectable and do you use them in your builds?

I have a number of toys like original run Kenner Star Wars figures, lots of GI Joes, M.A.S.K. figures (no vehicles sadly), MotU, BSG and other odds and ends that I'm constantly deliberating over cutting them apart.

They're not any good for collectors as accessories are largely missing, and they're really no good to me aside from parts, but it feels wrong to chop them up!

Just curious if others struggle with this sort of dilemma!

Uploading Music

About a year or so back I uploaded my digital music collection to YTM so I could listen to my music remotely (and to be an emergency backup in case my normal backups failed).

It worked pretty well for a while, but I was getting increasingly more frequent "Something went wrong" errors when trying to play from my Uploads.

This pushed me to the normal YTM streaming which I've been using for a while now.

Today I decided to update my uploads as the collection has grown, and opted to do a bulk upload rather than going album-by-album because nobody got time for that and I wanted to be sure to capture everything.

Before I started I looked up what happens if I upload duplicates - does it re-add or skip? - and the info I found said it will skip if the tracks are identical (tags etc), so I thought no problem, it should just find the stuff not already uploaded as I haven't changed anything about the individual files.

Well, it has not done this and appears to be re-uploading every track. Odd.

So I'm wondering if YTM removed or altered my uploads in some way? We're those "Something went wrong" errors because the files were removed or changed?

Why is the app seeing each file as new? Does some sort of change to the files happen when uploading and so cause the uploaded files to read as different from the files on my HDD?

TL;DR YTM is re-uploading every file rather than just new ones and I am wondering why.

Portrait Mode TBS, RPG, or Builder Games?

I'm looking for suggestions for some good portrait mode games in the RPG, turn based strategy, or (city) builder genres

I really like Snowprint's 40K Tacticus and Rivengard games so something like that would be great.

Monmyth's RPGs are good as is what I've played of Castle Grimhold.

Portrait mode is pretty much a requirement but I'm open to alternative suggestions if there's something you feel really strongly about recommending.

Thanks!

Liking Songs Reduces Queue Variety

I had a pretty good, diverse queue going and I started Liking songs to get them into my Liked list, but this started to really narrow the diversity of artists being populated into the queue.

This is so damned obnoxious. It means that what is being played becomes less and less diverse and so what I can add to Liked also restricts and ends up telling the algorithm I only want to listen to half a dozen artists.

What's the point of Liking songs if that actively restricts what is played?

Sequence Bio NL Canada

A day or two after submitting an application for remote work with a Canadian company called Sequence Bio I received today a job offer email (data entry).

From what I've been able to find online, they're a legit company, but I'm a bit surprised they sent the offer without any interviews or discussion.

This sets off some red flags, however, so I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this company.

Thanks in advance!

Plastic Arms & Weapon Replacements

Wondering if anyone knows of a source for the plastic arms and weapons that came with GW 40K miniatures from the late 80s period.

They came with Squats, Guard, Necromundans and suchlike.

Maybe someone 3D prints them or makes the print files available?
