Countryhuman/Cityhuman Head cannons—part 3.

1. London
Throughout his youth and early adult life, London had always been a very sickly city. From the early 1100s all the way into the late 1800s, he was constantly dealing with some form of illness, disease, or infection.

During the Black Death and later outbreaks of the plague, London became so ill that he nearly died on several occasions. His experiences during the plague also created his extremely strong fear of rats and rodents as a whole. Even today, despite everything he’s lived through, London cannot stand them.

In 1666, during the Great Fire of London, he was gravely injured and suffered burns across nearly 50% of his body. Although the burns eventually healed, they left extensive scarring across his torso, back, and arms.

The fire also left London with a severe fear of fire that he has never completely overcome. He keeps this fear extremely private, however, and Paris is one of the only people who knows about it.

During the 1800s, London’s poor health continued due to disease, pollution, overcrowding, and the horrible sanitation conditions throughout the city. His health finally began improving considerably during the second half of the century as London’s sewer systems, sanitation, and medical knowledge improved. By the 1890s, he was finally healthy enough that being constantly sick was no longer simply a normal part of his life.

London has respect for engineers because of this, particularly those responsible for London’s sanitation and transportation infrastructure.

During the American Revolution, London was placed in charge of taking care of New York’s five children after they were taken by the British Empire and brought to Britain. Although they were technically being held by the British, London treated all five extremely well and did his best to keep them away from the uglier parts of the conflict, and from empire herself.

He fed them, looked after them, showed them around London, and generally treated them more like visiting relatives than prisoners, leading all  five to becoming  extremely attached to him.

When the war ended, the British Empire kept her word and returned all five children unharmed.

Their relationship with London survived into the modern day, and the five boroughs still affectionately refer to him as “Uncle Donn”, specifically spelled with two N’s.

New York himself also has a great deal of respect for London because of this. Regardless of his feelings about the British occupation during the Revolution, NYC never forgot that London protected his children and returned them unharmed.

London can speak Old English, modern English, French, and Spanish very well.

His natural accent is an extremely strange mixture of different English and British dialects accumulated throughout his life. However, when conducting official business or attending diplomatic meetings, he switches almost effortlessly into an extremely clean Received Pronunciation (RP) accent.

London is a massive train and infrastructure nerd and is also a skilled engineer.

He participated in and oversaw portions of the development of the London Underground during the 1800s and developed an enormous interest in locomotives and railway history as a result.

During the Blitz, London suffered numerous injuries from the bombing. One explosion permanently damaged his hearing, leaving him partially deaf.

He now requires a hearing aid.

London doesn’t particularly hide his hearing loss and has become extremely good at reading lips. Occasionally, however, he’ll deliberately remove his hearing aid when someone is annoying him and pretend he can’t hear them.

Paris knows when he does it  intentionally.

Between 1944 and 1988, London worked extensively in intelligence and espionage.

During this period, he established contacts across Europe, North America, Asia, and portions of the Middle East. He became extremely skilled at reading lips, concealing recording equipment and wiretaps, following people without being noticed, identifying surveillance, and generally disappearing into large crowds.

Even today, London knows an uncomfortable amount of classified Cold War information.

London and Paris share a very strange relationship rooted in centuries of rivalry, friendship, arguments, mutual attraction, and occasional romance.

Neither really knows what to call their relationship.

They’ve stopped trying.

London has a strong respect for D.C. due to his character, work ethic, and willingness to stand up to America when necessary. However, London also considers D.C. far too young for the amount of responsibility placed on him.

London can also drink like it’s nobody’s business and has an incredibly high alcohol tolerance.

Very few people can actually drink him under the table.

Berlin and Dublin are the only two able.

2. U.K.

U.K. is normally extremely composed, diplomatic, somewhat emotionally repressed, and painfully aware of Britain’s declining position as a global power.

Despite this, he isn’t necessarily bitter about it.

He understands that empires rise and fall and that Britain’s role in the world has changed dramatically over the centuries.

He generally tries his best to stay away from his country’s everyday politics whenever possible for numerous reasons, many of them deeply personal.

Much of U.K.’s personality comes directly from his relationship with his mother, the British Empire.

During her rule, U.K. was essentially both her physical and emotional punching bag.

She frequently screamed at him, insulted him, struck him, and blamed him whenever something went wrong. He learned very early in life that arguing usually made things worse.

As a result, he became extremely good at hiding his emotions.

Don’t argue.
Don’t cry.
Don’t show fear.
Do what you’re told.
Don’t give her another reason.

Even in the modern day, U.K.‘s emotional repression isn’t simply him being stereotypically British.

It is a learned survival behavior.

The British Empire was also obsessed with creating what she considered a powerful and long-lasting lineage.

When her only son was just fourteen, she began forcing him into sexual relationships against his will in an attempt to produce descendants and expand the family’s influence.

Many of those relationships resulted in children.

Many of those children did not survive.

U.K. doesn’t even know the identities of some of their mothers.

Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and America are among his surviving sons and daughters, although their individual origins and mothers differ considerably.

This history is a major reason U.K.’s relationship with his children became so complicated.

For centuries, many of them viewed him simply as a lapdog  who stood beside the British Empire and allowed her to continue on.

It took many years for some of them to understand that U.K. himself was terrified of what she might do to him.

That doesn’t excuse everything he did.

U.K. knows this.

Under his mother’s rule, he served as an officer within her military and was ordered to participate in numerous horrible acts throughout the Empire for many years.

He followed many of those orders.

Some because he believed in them at the time.

Others because he was terrified of what would happen if he refused.

He carries considerable guilt regarding both.

U.K. and France also have an extremely complicated romantic history.

The two spent centuries fighting, insulting one another, competing with each other, occasionally becoming extremely close, and then immediately returning to fighting again.

They were never officially together.

Neither has completely gotten over the other.

Even today, U.K. still quietly yearns for France, while France continues to have feelings for him that she generally refuses to properly acknowledge.

London finds the entire situation exhausting.

Ironically, London and Paris have almost exactly the same problem.

London is also U.K.’s closest friend and arguably the only person U.K. considers a true friend.

London has known him through almost everything and is one of the very few people U.K. completely trusts.

U.K. normally wears an old-fashioned trench coat over a suit and tie, along with a Homburg hat. He wears a monocle and carries a pocket watch dating from the 1890s that he has maintained for well over a century.

During the First World War he developed a cough due to toxic gas that has never truly gone away.

Despite his old-fashioned appearance, he isn’t technologically incompetent.

He simply likes the way he dresses.

U.K.’s relationship with his mother finally ended following the handover of Hong Kong in 1997.

The British Empire viewed giving up Hong Kong as yet another humiliation and another example of her son destroying everything she had spent centuries building.

The two got into an argument. This by itself  wasn’t unusual.

They had argued thousands of times before.

Empire screamed at him.

Called him weak.

Called him pathetic.

Accused him of dismantling her legacy.

Reminded him repeatedly of everything she’d supposedly done for him.

U.K. initially did what he had always done.

He stood there.
Quiet.
Controlled.
Listening to every insult and threat thrown his way.

Then she said something that brought him straight back to being that frightened fourteen-year-old boy standing before his mother.

“You should of never been born, you are a disgrace.”

She turned away, but UK had finally snapped.

U.K. saw one of her prized sceptre’s  nearby.

Centuries of fear.

Humiliation.

Self-hatred.

Anger.

Red hot, Anger.

Everything he’d spent his entire life bottling up exploded.

He grabbed the sceptre and screamed, taking her off guard.

He  struck her.

Then he did it again.

And again.

And again.

By the time U.K. realized what he had done, the British Empire was dead—He had caved in the back of her skull.

Officially, her death was reported as a horrific accident involving a falling chandelier.

Unofficially, numerous countries and cities suspect otherwise.

London knows exactly what happened.

France strongly suspects.

Paris almost certainly knows.

America has his theories.

Canada figured it out years ago but has never asked.

Whenever London is questioned about what happened that night, however, his answer has remained exactly the same since 1997

“That  chandelier was old anyway.”

3. British Empire

Throughout her extraordinarily long life, the British Empire accomplished numerous enormous feats and achievements.

At her height, she controlled the largest empire the world had ever seen.

She was intelligent, charismatic, disciplined, extremely ambitious, and frighteningly competent.

She was also extraordinarily cruel.

The British Empire felt very little genuine regret, remorse, or sympathy for many of the things she did throughout her lifetime.

She viewed imperialism as competition.

Someone was always going to dominate.

As far as she was concerned, it might as well be her.

She particularly despised the French and Spanish Empires, not necessarily because of their cultures or people, but because they were her greatest competitors for global influence.

She wanted to win.

And for a very long time, she did.

The British Empire became completely obsessed with maintaining a strong empire and creating what she considered an equally powerful lineage.

This obsession extended directly to her only son, U.K.

She didn’t view him as a child in the traditional sense.

She viewed him as her heir.

Something to shape.

Something to strengthen.

Something that would eventually inherit what she’d created.

As a result, when U.K. was only fourteen, she began forcing him into sexual relationships in an attempt to produce descendants.

She never viewed this as abuse.

In her mind, she was strengthening her bloodline and preparing her only son for his future responsibilities.

Even centuries later, she never truly understood the damage she did to him.

She frequently beat, screamed at, humiliated, and controlled U.K. throughout his life.

As he grew older, she made him an officer within her armed forces and ordered him to participate in numerous campaigns and actions throughout the Empire throughout its history.

Whenever he objected, she reminded him that everything she did would eventually belong to him—often before beating him into submission.

During the American Revolution, the Thirteen Colonies managed to get a lucky shot on her during a confrontation in 1781, which  struck the right side of her face.

She survived, but it permanently disfigured her and left a large scar running across her right cheek.

She never forgave America for it.

The scar wasn’t simply an injury.

It was a life long  humiliation to her.

One of her own colonies had permanently marked her before successfully breaking away from her grasp.

Despite her cruelty, however, the British Empire was absolutely a woman of her word.

If she made a genuine promise, she kept it.

During the Revolution, New York’s five children were taken to Britain as hostages and placed under London’s supervision.

Empire promised that the children would be returned unharmed if the war ended in her defeat—which at the time she thought was completely impossible.

And despite everything that happened during the conflict, she kept that promise.

All five were returned, unharmed.

During the War of 1812, the British Empire participated enthusiastically in the campaign against the United States, her son was left in charge to control her affairs during the napoleonic wars—her personal vendetta against the United States was far too strong z

In August 1814, following the Battle of Bladensburg, British forces entered Washington.

Empire personally took enormous satisfaction in watching Washington’s government buildings burn, including the White House.

She laughed as she watched them burn.

Later during the war, Empire herself experienced several close calls at sea, including an incident in which a vessel she was traveling aboard was attacked and lost, nearly resulting in her capture by American forces.

The experience did very little to humble her.

If anything, she considered surviving it proof that she was simply extremely difficult to kill.

For most of the following century, she continued expanding her influence until the British Empire reached its territorial height.

But eventually things began changing.

Colonies became independent.

Her influence shrank.

Her son increasingly stopped listening to her.

The world moved on.

Empire didn’t.

She continued thinking like an imperial ruler even after there was increasingly little empire left for her to rule.

By the late twentieth century, she had almost no actual authority remaining.

But she continued behaving as though she did.

The handover of Hong Kong represented something deeply personal to Empire.

It represented the end.

She blamed U.K.

They argued.

She insulted, belittled and threatened him as she had done for the past 400 years.

Reminded him of everything she’d supposedly sacrificed to create his inheritance.

Then she turned her back on him.

It was the last mistake she ever made.

After centuries of abuse, U.K. finally snapped.

He grabbed her one of her own prized sceptre’s  and struck her repeatedly across the back of the head.

The British Empire died in 1997 at the hands of her own son she had spent centuries attempting to turn into her successor.

Her death was officially ruled a freak accident.

A chandelier supposedly failed, and  fell on top of her.

Very few people who actually knew the British Empire believe this explanation.

But nobody has ever been able—or particularly motivated—to prove otherwise.

And London has never come forward to say otherwise.

It was, in fact, a very old chandelier.

City-human Head cannons part 2

This contains both Ottawa and New York City!

Ottawa:

Speaks French, English and the Algonquin language (learned it very early on when Canada was first colonized) . Sometimes slips into French while speaking English without realizing.

Similar to DC she’s  second in command of the Canadian government, right behind Canada himself. Unlike  America, Canada helps somewhat by doing paperwork with Ottawa so it isn’t as stressful on her.

Deeply despises Florida along with much of the South, especially during gatherings and meetings between July 1st and 4th, thinks the South/southern date uncivil and fake.

Despite this she has decent/good relations with Texas and North Carolina mainly due to their shared interests of wildlife and also firearms—a guilty pleasure of hers.

Gatineau and Ottawa are like brother and sister, often drinking together and going on hike trips together in the Alberta region. Both love hiking, and often speak French to one another.

Prefers the cold, cold doesn’t bother her at all, she  doesn’t like the heat at all. Her skating and skiing abilities are above professionals, although she  was pressured by Canada due to national pride, she doesn’t care for the two sports but is extremely good at them.

Her former name was Bytown but changed it following arguments with the other cities and Canada. Britain stepped in and quailed the situation, marking her as the official capital in 1857.

Despite her Canadian mannerisms and way of thinking, she has a  strong respect for America in regards to their military culture, and is part of the reason for her friendship with Texas and North Carolina; her liking of security and keeping herself and ones she loves safe. She  is unusually versed in firearms, which surprised the two states.

She also participated on the frontlines in the war of 1812 (when she was named Richmond Landing, disguised as a man).

During the war, she was shot in the head during the battle of queenston heights, but survived and was dragged to safety by fellow soldiers who refused to leave her behind. As she recovered, she forged paper work to be a part of a British regular unit  instead of the Canadian militia.

Participating in the siege of Baltimore and the battle of New Orleans, she was shot once again in the neck and back.

Later waking up hours later laying  on the battlefield in the pitch black darkness, surrounded by dead bodies and insects.

Crawling through the bodies, magenta and mud  she was found by New Orleans who happened to be crossing that section of field. Instead of killing her or leaving her to die, he showed mercy  and captured the city and held her prisoner and helped Ottawa nurse back to health  until the war's end two months later.

She still had nightmares about her experiences to this day.

Toronto is still jealous she was chosen to be the capital and not her, Quebec City and Ottawa have mutual respect regarding their military service during  the war of 1812. Quebec City was the first city to see through her Ruse but did not rat her out and instead encouraged her to give the Americans hell. His service stretches back to as far back to the time he was a  fortified city in the 1759 Battle of the Plains of Abraham, along with the British takeover, and the failed American invasion of Quebec in 1775–76.

Ottawa feels guilty and regrets not being able to help the indigenous nations more during the conflict and being unable to speak on their behalf, having close relations with them prior and during the war. She also feels a heavy guilt weighing in her heart, being the capital of Canada, and representing his and the government's treatment and policies regarding the indigenous people she knew for so long and saw as friends and even family.

She wears glasses and has a scar on the side of her head when the musket ball struck her, though it is hidden by her hair most of the time. She wears dresses and occasionally pants and jackets.  Her  hair is in either a bun or down around her shoulders, she also wears a braided bracelet on her left wrist gifted to her in 1802.

New York

New York is a curious case as despite not having any federal power “officially” he is well versed in international affairs and politics along with being friends with several international cities and even a few countries particularly Italy and Greece. Along with being acquaintances to the  cities of London, Ottawa,  Paris, Tokyo, Toronto, Berlin and Rome.

New York is also verse in an absurd number of languages.

He’s fluent in Dutch, English, Spanish and Italian.

Very good in Yiddish, Mandarin/Cantonese, and German.

Conversational or fragmented in Russian, Haitian Creole, Arabic, Korean, Polish, Greek, French, and Bengali. Though he rarely speaks in these languages as he isn’t very good with them.

His accent isn’t stereotypical “New Yorker” but rather a strange mix of many dialects that no one can pin down.

He hates being reminded of his old name “New Amsterdam” and doesn’t particularly care for that period in his life. Though refinements of his old flag still shine through his modern flag design, like papers stapled over one another over the years.

The five boroughs themselves are the five direct children between him and Amsterdam, the mother. In 1898 they banded together (as they were ordinarily counties) and became the five boroughs of New York.

Manhattan thinks he’s the main character.
Brooklyn refuses to admit Manhattan is important and bullies him.
Queens speaks more languages than everyone and is the only girl.
Bronx constantly gets blamed for stuff he didn’t even do.
Staten Island pretends  like he doesn’t want anything to do with the other parts of the family  until an outsider insults NYC or his siblings.

He knew Lenape way back in the 1600s and knew the language but over the years, decades and centuries it had faded from memory.

He had never forgiven himself for that.

During the revolution he was held captive by England and his  children were sent to London, though never harmed they were returned at wars end.

During 9/11 when the towers fell, New York was crushed under debris and the only way to save him was to cut his legs off, leaving him wheelchair bound to this day. He suffers severe PTSD and panic attacks when a plane passes too close no matter how safe he is, which is something  he despises with himself.

Regardless, NYC adapted quickly. Being  extremely good with his chair, moving  fast, knowing  exactly where accessible entrances are, and will absolutely tell someone to get their ass out of the way.

Hates being treated as fragile.

NYC’s concept of “New Yorker” has almost nothing to do with nationally. If you contribute and follow the law, he treats you as any other citizen.

Surprisingly to most individuals is that NYC is an enormous history nerd who speaks several languages, loves old architecture, has centuries of military/political memories and knows firearms considerably.

Inside his house are many items from many centuries including:

Old subway tokens from various decades.
Newspapers depicting numerous events that shaped the city.
Photographs from the 1860s to now.
old Dutch coins along with British coins and American coins as far as the 1600s.
Letters from soldiers during different conflicts.
Baseball tickets and other baseball memorabilia.
A damaged FDNY badge and other items from 2001.

He wears suits almost all the time though he wears a baseball jersey and cap when watching baseball or at home with his family. Wears a ring he bought at a store in Greece in 1955 and had worn it ever since.

Balalaika but she’s a tired mom

This is a alternative universe where Balalaika; with the advice of Boris and her men, sought counsel and therapy to help her overcome her trauma and PTSD she sustained during her military service and later adopted these two children and later married and had a happy and healthy life 😁 (I’m not delusional)

CityHumans head cannons Part 1!

Washington D.C.

Head cannon: DC is the personal assistant and secretary for America and personally overseas all of his assets and responsibilities when Mr. America is unable or unwilling to do so….which he mostly is. D.C. is close friends with Berlin, Rome  and Tokyo due to their work ethic and their shared liking of liquor and stressful lives. DC along with Montgomery, Prince George (PG) and   Anne Arundel counties (Maryland) also included Fairfax county, Arlington County Virginia  along with the cities of Fairfax and Arlington VA and Silver Spring Maryland. The correlation is named the “ the coalition of America” T.C.A. Whom handle any potential:

Riots

Terrorist attacks

Hurricanes

Cyber attacks

Federal emergencies

Continuity of Government operations

But operate mostly like a friend group or country club.

DC is most often seen wearing  tailored suits or business-casual suits.

DC has a burn scar running from his left cheek down to his abdomen after he was injured in the 9/11 attack (he was visiting the pentagon on behalf of America) America himself was blinded in the attack and now has artificial eyes that glow red and blue (main reason he wears sun glasses most days)

Moscow:

The personal bodyguard and head of security for Russia and its neighbors, he wears bulletproof vests along with white dress shirt and black slacks and shades. He carries a MP-443. Moscow was friends with Kiviv prior to the Ukraine war  but their relationship soured after and has been at a all time low since WW2.

Moscow served shrapnel wounds in WW1, tortured in World War Two and had to learn how to walk again after a motor struck his transport truck in the Soviet-Afghan war, he is in good health now but requires glasses to see far due to the torture inflicted in WW2. He enjoys American Jazz and rap secretly and can speak fluent Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Russian, German and English. He’s best friends with St. Petersburg and Minsk.

Ronnie the Jaws appreciation post🏳️‍🌈 + Tommaso

I like Ronnie. He’s cool and dare I say—good looking. He’s understated in my opinion plus I read somewhere where somebody said he and Ballalaika have a brother-sister relationship going on and I agree wholeheartedly. Also, I don’t care how many hookers he sleeps with—ROONIE IS GAY 🏳‍🌈 Everytime I see him all I think is “yeah this guy likes men” Ronnie and Tommaso is differently having gay sex.
