Splatoon Raiders is not THAT fun. It could be somewhat better

Yeah, I said it. I’m so serious on my opinion that I am posting it in the dedicated sub.

Essentially though, while I do find the game fun, it isn’t THAT fun. It is THAT addicting, but not THAT fun. Like I’ll be honest, I felt like the game was losing some steam around the super-spicy levels.

The game is still great though, and well worth the money. However, even though I bet most of y’all would disagree, I would make the following changes:

Balance Changes

  1. Essentially have everything unlocked before bottomless. Pretty much I want every single gadget modifier and relic before we tackle bottomless buffet.
  2. Make it extremely easy to switch strategies. Right now, you have to invest a lot of time to one strategy that you can’t try a different tank or gadget without grinding it.
  3. Across the board, just cut all the costs of everything by 75%. Weapon level upgrade just maxes out at your current level, up to 100.

With these changes, I think the game would be much more smooth and seemless, bumping my score from an 8/10 to a 9/10.

Why no 10/10? Honestly, I think the only 10/10 Splatoon campaign so far is Side Order. Only wish is more content, but it ends at the perfect time when you have seen all of it.

But you can see how in side order, when you grind, you can easily switch to new, viable options with a snap. With Raiders, it is just too much commitment and grind.

How do we bump Raiders to a 10?

  1. Honestly, it needs more mission types. All of them are essentially “Kill everything”. Side order had the “fill checkpoint with ink”, splatzones, bubble burst, catch the fish, etc.
  2. Also, inking the ground doesn’t really do anything, it should slow and damage the salmonids more.
  3. The bot should have also had its own gadgets and upgrades.
  4. Honestly, I just think Raiders should have just straight up added all the content in Side Order in it. The palette chips should have all had relic equivalents, and relics should have a cost system like gadgets so you could equip 10 different relics if you wanted. Only difference between Raiders and Side Order is that Side Order is a Rouge-Lite and Raiders is continued progression and powerups.

Thanks for reading my very disorganized rant haha.

Men: which education/debt level would you prefer your wife to have?

Been arguing with a couple of the boys on this, so was wondering what you would consider to be the ideal scenario when you get married and start planning your life together. You can consider any possibility and say what would sway your opinion to one side or the other.

It’s good that people are against inter-faith dating in the sub now

I swear just a year ago, when someone said “Hey my girlfriend isn’t Christian”, most of the comments were something like:

  1. “Make sure you pray on it to see if it’s fruitful”
  2. “That’s alright, I have seen it work, be careful”
  3. “Just make sure they let your kids be Christian”

And if you decided to go against the grain, everyone would chastise you for being ignorant.

Now, if someone posts that they have a non-Christian boyfriend, the comments section says:

  1. “Don’t”

I think this is a good development in the sub. We have made some good progress here

Why are there so many 30+ year old Filipinas here?

American here, but I have noticed that about 80% of the profiles coming out of the Philippines are 30+ year old Filipinas.

Was just wondering what is the reason for this? Of course everyone is an individual, so let us know your personal story, as well as any broader issues in the Filipino dating scene that brought you here.

Not wanting to watch a 3+ video essay on YouTube ≠ Short attention span

It seems like a trend for some youtubers to post videos from 1-5 hours long. I’m not talking a stream vod or let’s play, I’m talking an actual essay or commentary.

This is specifically a Reddit issue, but every time someone shares one of these massive videos, there are a few comments that are downvoted to oblivion that simply say “This is way too long, I’m not watching this”. Everyone replies to this saying “Me when my attention span is short and the video isn’t in tiktok clips”

Look, I agree that attention spans are short today, but bro, I’m not watching this video that is longer than the extended cut of Lord of The Rings.

Real life examples I have seen are a 90 minute video on how the archer has changed overtime in Clash Royale, and a 4 hour video on why iDubbz fell off.

Tangentially related, I really feel like these videos are full of fluff. While I haven’t seen these videos,
I can’t possibly believe that there is really that much content in these videos. They could really have made these videos in 1/10th the runtime.

Pro-tip: actually list all of your requirements in your “Who I’m looking for” section

A trend I notice in probably half of all the profiles on here is something like this:

Who I’m Looking For:

Loves Jesus
Kind
Loyal
Respectful
Someone I can build my life with

The issue?

Great, you have essentially described EVERY SINGLE PERSON who is interested in talking to you. I doubt there has EVER been a SINGLE person who has read a profile like that and said “Dang, she is great, but I’m rude and hate Jesus, so we can’t be together”.

I get people want to be as vague as possible in order to not scare anyone off, but unless you are literally interested in every single person who has ever posted an intro here, don’t lie to yourself.

Also, having a picky selection makes the people who do qualify more interested in you. Saying “must be conservative” or “must hate Trump” makes a qualified person say “Yooo, this guy is cool!”

So, I’ll help out and list a couple of things I think people actually care about. It’s not exhaustive, but pick some things that really matter to you, and even things that aren’t necessarily dealbreakers, but REALLY nice to have.

Examples of things to add:

Taller than me
Physically fit
Debt-free and can support single income family
Wants LOTS of kids
No LDR
Graduated college
Conservative
24-30
Cool with alcohol, but no cigarettes
Likes dogs
Virgin

Anyone kinda baffled by how many teenagers are on here?

Honestly, I have never in person met a reddit user under the age of like 19. Yet I feel like a bunch of 14-16 year take up a ton of the big subs. I am in a few advice subs and unironically, maybe 70% of the posts are from teens

Anyone know why Reddit is popular amongst teens? Is it just bots?

What are some backpacking meals that non-backpacking people consider wacky?

I finally heard of a ramen bomb, and I’ll be honest, it sounded lowkey (just a little bit) absolutely and utterly insane.

This kinda got me going down a rabbit hole and found other wacky meals. Some sound crazy, while some got me 🤔

Was just wondering what are some backpacking meals that people may consider weird or wacky?

You should maybe consider getting off Reddit

Been on the sub for a few years now, and I have seen this timeline happen to multiple people now:

  1. Hi everyone, I am super hopeful!
  2. Dang, this is kinda tough
  3. Women suck
  4. I think I should be a priest
  5. Depression

I don’t know if correlation or causation, but nevertheless I still feel like Reddit was still a net negative to many people in the sub.

Another thing, the vast majority of the people that go down this pipeline don’t even follow any of the new, novel advice they hear. You tell them “Hey, why not do this?” and then they say “Nah, I don’t want to do that”. They just stick with being the same, except being colder and more bitter overtime. They are able to parrot all the very popular platitudes and grievances, but do nothing about it. It’s like all they want to do is complain and document their downfall.

So yeah, honestly, I am giving my last piece of advice to those who actually heed it. If you are at least at the “women suck” or “priest time” stage, delete Reddit, don’t look back. Reddit cannot help you, only you can help you.

“You can’t hate tomatoes! You like pizza, and pizza has tomatoes!”

Not a personal issue, but I still get annoyed because it’s still stupid.

I hear this often when people eat pickles and tomatoes. They instantly say “Well you know, spaghetti and pizza have tomatoes in it. Therefore, you are stupid”.

Like bro, they change the ingredient to make it taste good. Imagine not liking a plain baked potato and someone says “you know french fries are made of potatoes, right?”

Assuming unlimited time/money, how long would you want to take doing your thru-hike?

I saw a few people taking a whole year hiking the entire Appalachian Trail. If I had the money and the free time, that would sound like a ton of fun, essentially doing less than 10 miles a day. Maybe though I would just take 9 months though to avoid winter.

So yeah, pick a thru hike trail, and how long you would want to take to be on the trail. You can spend as much time as you want to just sit around and relax if you want, no need to hike everyday. Can even stay in town for however long you want. Just can’t like fully leave the trail, do something else, and come back a year later.

Should I remove my sleeping bag and tent from its sack?

I’m going in my first backpacking trip, and it feels like I am not fully utilizing my space. There seems to be a few empty pockets from my tent and sleeping bag sacks.

I was wondering if it’s common practice to remove these items from their sacks and just jam it into the bottom, or there is good reason to keep it in the sacks and find a different way to pack

Got my first unicycle!

Here ends my trilogy of getting a unicycle haha.

Tested it out, and absolutely did not figure out how to ride this thing 😂 I’ll figure it out soon enough though.

Thanks for coming along with me on this mini journey. Let me know if you got any advice!

What are some of the silliest or “That’s so true!!” Red Flags you have ever heard of?

Let’s keep this discussion mostly light hearted but at least a little spicier and less obvious than “Doesn’t go to church”. I’ll start with a few I have heard in public before:

Men

Wears sunscreen
Doesn’t like wearing ties
No Bedframe
Is into sneakers

Women

Wears Pantsuits
Has a Bikini Tan Line
Nose Ring
Has watched any sitcom more than once

Thinking of getting this used Unicycle. Any questions I should ask?

Welp, the moment I complained I couldn’t find it, that’s when the unicycle finally showed up on FB 😂

It’s going to be my first ever uni, so I was wondering what kind of questions I should ask? I don’t know if it’s like cars where it could look fine, but then break after a few miles

Where do you even buy the Nimbus II?

Looked online, and it seems almost unanimous that the best beginner unicycle that will last is the Nimbus II 20”.

Issue is, I can’t even find it. It’s like sold out everywhere, and nothing second hand is available.

Any help, or is this a fool’s errand? Any good alternatives?
