pagod n ako

(I’ll use English first since I’m not very confident explaining in Tagalog—sorry. But tldr: PAGOD NA AKO)

My father is one of seven children. Unfortunately, five of his siblings have already passed away, leaving only my father and his remaining sibling.

My father used to be very well-off. He saved a substantial amount of money after finishing his postgraduate studies and held off on starting a family until later in life, eventually having me in his 50s. He has always been a strict, disciplined man who firmly believes in self-reliance and working for what you get, though he could also be somewhat frugal with money.

Tragically, he suffered a stroke in his mid-50s, which left him bedridden and completely unable to work. My mother became his full-time caregiver and had to manage the household without any income, gradually exhausting the savings over the years. Now, facing declining health and the rising cost of living, my father wants to sell two land properties co-owned by his siblings so he can pay off medical bills and leave some financial support for us before he passes.

However, his surviving sibling holds a massive, deep-seated grudge against him. Decades ago, this sibling was the "black sheep" of the family—marrying young, having children early, and struggling financially while trying to maintain an extravagant lifestyle. My father and their parents helped to a degree, but they eventually set boundaries, believing an adult needs to take responsibility for their own life. My father even lent them a significant amount of money nearly two decades ago. Although this sibling eventually built a very successful business and became wealthy, that debt was never officially repaid in cash. Instead, whenever they gave us small gifts, food, or cash over the years, they secretly counted it as "payment in kind."

BUT, over time, that bitterness only grew. Now that their financial situations have reversed, my aunt/uncle subtly implies that my father's condition is "karma" and that he finally knows what it feels like to struggle. It breaks my heart to see someone carry so much resentment, but I think that the immediate problem is much worse.

By law, selling the co-owned land requires my relative's signature. My mother has done all the heavy lifting—handling tax payments, marketing the properties, and meeting potential buyers. We have had serious buyers ready to put down payments within specific timeframes, but every single time, this relative stalls the process by claiming they need to "consult their lawyer." They drag their feet, ignore messages for weeks, or refuse to respond altogether. This has been happening for nearly three years, causing multiple buyers to pull out.

To be honest, it really feels like they are deliberately dragging this out just to get satisfaction from watching my father wither away, bedridden and unable to secure our family's future.

I work online while studying for my board exams, but my income is limited, and the pressure is overwhelming. My mother, my father, and I are completely exhausted. I just needed to get this out because it feels like no one else understands what we're going through. That's all !!

how to get started (as a fresh grad) ?

hello everyone!

I just graduated from bs pharmacy this year and is planning to take the boards. I came across medical coding and i’m very interested in the field. I think that this may help me in the long run not only for experience in the industry but for maybe fun na rin po i guess hahah. (I plan to gain experience in every field I know po sana and buttt I’m still finalizing my desicion if i would pursue med or just go abroad.)

May tips ba po kayo to start? I heard about applying to BPO companies that specialize or have a connection to healthcare and having a bond with them pero are there still more opportunities to start?

Nakita ko rin po kase mga ibang review centers ang bayad po don ay 20-25k and I really dont have the money to pay. I also heard that US companies would prefer coders with experience, meaning that if a BPO company would hire you and train you to be one, aytomatic ba po non magkakaroon na ng experience?

And usually ano po ang starting salary if ever magkaroon po ng bond between the employee and the company if said company will be training them to become a coder?

Any reply is appreciated. Thank you for helping out a loss bonnie😅😊.

(Please correct me if anything seems to be wrong in the text.)
