Stitchable Items

A dopamine rush, but for the crafters. These are 3D printed items you can STITCH ON. The lid is perforated so you can customize it with cross stitch, embroidery, mix of both, add some beads, pixel art… the creativity is endless. So far we have 14-day pill boxes, trinket and card deck boxes, and mini frames. They’re addicting because you can get them done fast and they’re items you can use.

Card Games + Cross Stitch

Not sure if this is a good place to share, but thought the card game appreciators might like it.
It’s a 3D printed box you can stitch on. They happen to fit your deck of cards while looking whimsical on your coffee table. There’s cross stitch patterns for dice, face cards, Flip 7, Five Crowns, Rook, Phase 10, Uno, or you can design your own.

Carrying Threads

I’ve learned to relax on my 3D printed projects. Carrying the threads won’t warp the product and knots get covered by the backing. Absolute dream material for us that say the back isn’t our problem!

Water Tower Cross Stitch

I redownloaded Reddit for the cross stitch community. This one is for all the original Idaho Falls water tower lovers. RIP!

[CHAT] Design Process = Procreate + Stitchly

I recently searched for the best cross stitch design software for Apple iPad and Pencil. I didn’t find a great answer. But! I’ve found my own process I love! I want to share to see if anyone else has a similar process or has tips to help my process along.
I first design on Procreate. I change my canvas to about 100 x 100 pixels (or whatever grid amount I want my design to be). I use a pixel brush (I found one on GumRoad). Then I create a color pallet similar to the floss colors I want. Once completed, I save as a PNG.
From there I upload the PNG directly to Stitchly and select convert photo. It almost always gets my pattern exactly how I designed it. To finish I change around the floss colors to what I originally picked.
The downside is you have to do any backstitching in the app. I also do not love the symbol choices from Stitchly. They give off a chunky emoji vibe.
The positive is Procreate is so much more user friendly than Stitchly.

My husband is an engineer. I’m a cross stitcher.

Turns out he can design anything I dream up. He designs the 3D print, I design the cross stitch pattern. So far we’ve done pill boxes, trinket boxes, and mini frames. I’ve always loved cross stitch, but breaking free from the repetition of Aida and framing has been so rejuvenating. Like what else can I put fiber art on and use daily? My imagination and to-do list is getting out of hand.
