Will hospitals lower their certification requirements since Florida is lowering their licensure requirements?

From what I've read, you only need to meet CLIA regulations to qualify for Florida license in the future. Will hospitals no longer require certification as a result?

If I am applying for a less desirable role and more desirable role in a company, would the recruiter (in house) usually push me the less desirable role to fill it quickly?

I'm honestly open to both roles but one has been sitting for several months as it is not very desirable. Another role is more desirable and there may be some internal transfers.

I'm honestly fine with both jobs but I would prefer the one that's more desirable. If it were to apply to the less desirable role, is the recruiter likely to steer me towards that? The pay is the same.

Is it best to hold off on applying to your second choice jobs in the health system you want to get into?

There is currently an evening shift position in one of their hospitals and another night shift position in another hospital that has been open for a few months. I would still take the night shift position if I have to but it's not my first choice.

I have a feeling that if I go ahead and apply to both, HR would push me to the night shift position. Should I try to wait for a week or so just to see if they move me forward for the evening shift position? I like my chances since it's not day shift, but there could be internal transfers fighting for the second shift.

Do labs offer you a different shift if someone internally takes the open position?

Let's say a day shift was posted and someone from evenings took the job, and no one from nights wants to move up to evenings. Do managers offer you the evening shift job if you were the top candidate?

Do the number of applicants correspond to the actual number of applicants? Is the actual number higher or lower?

I decided to use linkedin premium. Not only can I see the number of applicants but the qualifications as well. My manager said he has no qualified applicants for the position, but the number on LinkedIn would say 10.

There are some tech positions which would have single digit number of applicants, but then I would see 50% of the applicants have a masters. This is weird because I have met very few MLS with a masters.

Are MLTs preferred over MLS in the lab?

I’m not hear to start an argument or anything. I wanted to understand budgeting in hiring.

Are MLTs preferred over MLS since it is usually cheaper to hire them on?

How much does it cost to do a transmission, rear diff and transfer case fluid drain and fill? What mileage do I need do it?

Just wanted to budget it for the future. I have a 2021 CX30 with 28k miles.

Is it better to go to an independent shop or the dealership for it?

New CX50 Hybrid vs Corolla Cross hybrid?

If my main requirement is reliability, which one should I choose? I've heard that Mazda puts in a weak 12V battery so that would be my concern as well, is the 12V in the Toyota better?

What is it like working at lab with a physician office combined with free standing ED (FSED)?

Just wanted to know what a typical shift is like. What type of analyzers are used?

I work at a Trauma one hospital so I can't imagine doing maintenance for a high throughput chem analyzer, sysmex analyzer, urine analyzer, coag analyzer all on the same shift with only one person. I think I would spend half the shift just trying to get maintenance done.

Does working at a FSED or a small community hospital (less than 100 beds) hurt your resume?

I've been thinking out moving out to work at an FSED or a smaller community hospital in my area due to some toxic problems in my company. The larger trauma 1 hospital labs in the area don't have a good reputation too.

My plan is to relocate out of state entirely in a few years. If I were to work at an FSED lab or a smaller community hospital, is that generally looked down upon by hiring managers for trauma 1 hospital labs?

I have trauma 1 hospital lab experience but the managers might not view it was "current" if I were to work in a much smaller lab.

Is it just me or are the standards getting lower in hiring for unlicensed states?

Was looking at jobs the other day and some of them don’t even list certification as a preferred requirement anymore for a hospital core lab position, just a bachelors in biology.

For me personally, I believe that everyone should be certified before getting hired unless they went through an MLS program, then they can be certified in 1-2 years.

Are there any reliable car/private shuttle services to the airport from Norfolk downtown for a reasonable price?

Was wondering if there's any reliable car service that would take you to the airport from downtown other than prescheduling an uber?

Is an EV a good choice for apartment living?

I'm just curious on whether there are folks here that live in an apartment with an EV. I like the fact that there's minimal maintenance.

As someone who likes outdoors and drives out to hike or to OBX occasionally. How would this work out? Wanted to hear everyone's thoughts on it.

Is it easier to ask the car salesman to throw on new tires than negotiating on price?

I live in an area that the stock tires won't cut it in the winter. When negotiating on price and they won't budge, would it be easier to ask them to throw on a good set of all weather tires instead?

$40k for the most reliable AWD compact SUV?

I want something that is similar to the Corolla but in the compact SUV world. I know there's the Corolla Cross, but I don't know if it is actually that most reliable AWD SUV.

When I typed this question into AI, it suggested Rav 4 Hybrid. However, they just did a facelift so I'm wary about potential issues.

Any suggestions? I basically just want something that will not break down and the only thing I'll need are oil changes and replacing wear parts.

$40k budget on an AWD electric car, what is the most reliable and should I stick with a dealership or something like carmax?

My budget is $40k on an AWD EV. Which EV would be the most reliable?

I hate dealerships in general. New cars in dealerships can be okay but I don't really trust them for a used car. Would carmax be better?

Supervisor denies PTO rather than working the bench. Am I missing something?

I want to look at this objectively. My supervisor only deals with admin stuff like the schedule and bench assignments. There really isn't a lot of technical paperwork as our leads deal with it.

Personally, I would rather work the bench than to deny one of my direct report's hard earned PTO.

Why would someone do this? I'm not in management so I want to get a better idea of the thought process.

Amex Plat vs CSR?

Which one is better? I'm in St. Louis and the CSR only has two eligible restaurants. I like chase a lot but I feel like it would kinda be hard to use the benefits to break even. Thoughts?

Amex Plat (175k) vs CSR, which is better?

Currently have a mailer for the 175k Amex Plat and obvious the 150k CSR is going on right now.

I'm in St. Louis, MO. The major disadvantage is that there are only 2 open table sapphire reserve restaurants. There's 12 for resy for the Amex Plat

I go on probably 1-2 trips a year. I already have 200k points for my CSP so having the CSR would be great as I can add to it.

Another thing is I've paid rent for July already so if I apply for the CSR right now, I might not have enough time to spend the 6k. I'm also planning to move to another apartment in the area so there's a lot up in the air. The Amex would give me a lot more wiggle room.

What do you guys think?
