How does everyone pay your loans off?

SCAD is expensive. And a lot of students are taking out 100k+ a year to attend SCAD. How do you plan to pay your loans off? Or how are you paying your loans off?

Server question-is there any way to see what you made every night in credit card tips?

Like if you’re doing direct deposit? Is there a way for me to see what I made a night in credit card tips?

Copyrighting an Animated series that’s still being written?

Looking for a little bit of guidance. How would I go about copyrighting an animated series that’s still being written. It’s indie, and I want to post about it online, but I want to make sure it’s protected before I do so. How would I go about it? I have character designs and storylines drawn up, but it’s still being written. I’m in Texas.

Tips and Tricks (and popular items) to know for my new serving job?

Servers of chilis, what are things I should know that will help me better integrate into the Chili’s server job? What are the most popular menu items? What can I expect from food runners and customers? Turn and burn or slow down? I’ve served at other places before and I have to overall vibe of chilis down, but I know servers have tips and tricks to making money and doing well I hope to hone in on when I start.

How long til I get my orientation date?

That’s the question. I got hired last week and did my onboarding on Thursday, got it processed on Friday… and nothing has happened. I called Saturday morning just to ask, and I was told they typically do them on Monday or Tuesday, and they’d get back to me that day. Nothing. Called Sunday morning in case they wanted me to do it Monday, and the manager was busy and got told they’d get back to me that day. Nothing. I didn’t call today because I don’t want to bother them too much, and I get they will get back to me eventually. I’m just wondering how long it typically takes. I don’t plan on calling them again for a few days so it doesn’t feel like I’m rushing them. I just don’t want to get forgotten.

Insurance for 19 year old dependent in Texas?

Dental and health insurance in particular. Im 19F and in college. I also work. I’m from a family that used to have insurance but lost it when my dad switched jobs several years ago, but it was fine because we could afford everything without insurance. Until we couldn’t.

Parents are in a lot of debt and I’m starting to have health issues that I’m not getting addressed. My parents say they can’t afford to pay for me or help me pay for anything at all. I can’t afford to go to the doctor on my own and am saving up to get my teeth cleaned and two cavities filled (which was supposed to happen last year). I really can’t afford insurance either.

What options do I have? My parents still claim me as a dependent because I live at home and am in college (financed by me) and for whatever reason they don’t receive any help from the government for insurance. Is there anything cheap or free I can sign up for to cover myself? I need to get my teeth x-rayed and I need to get my ear fixed but I genuinely don’t have the money. My parents told me to open another credit card but I feel like that’s terrible advice when there has to be insurance options?

How to stop PC from continuously asking for Recovery Key?

Every time I shut down my pc and turn it back on it asks for my Microsoft recovery key. Multiple times while it’s turning on. It didn’t do this when I first got it, but literally as soon as the warranty and return date ended it started. I have a Lenovo Yoga 2-in-1 for reference.

How do I convince a fine dining place I’m worth the risk to hire?

The title. Im 19, I’ve been serving for about two years. I know I’m practically a baby in the service industry. I worked at a breakfast place for those 2 years, and have recently gotten a job at a ‘casual’ but slower paced steakhouse.

This restaurant, however, isn’t getting a lot of business. I’m getting maybe 2-4 tables a night, and leaving with about 30$ after tip out. My tip percentages are 18-22% most days, it’s just people aren’t ordering a lot of food. And when they do it always seems to be on the nights I only have 2 tables. I thought this was a me issue, but I talked to a lot of other servers there, and they have also only been making 20-60$ a night. And that’s with them having the ‘good’ sections versus my bad ones.

I already know I can’t stay at this steakhouse, but the only other two ‘casual’ steakhouses in town have declined me, and I can’t work at the fancier fish places because I’m allergic. There’s a fine dining steakhouse in town that is offering to train on alcohol flavoring/profiling (something I’m still getting used to serving-in my state I can serve alcohol at 19), and it’s starting to look like my only option if I want to stay in something that wont kill me from stress (the breakfast place had us in 8 table sections with zero support staff, busters, or food runners). What are some things I can say when I go down to the fine dining place (without blatantly lying to them about my experience) that might make me stand even a lick of a chance at getting hired? I’ve never been written up, and my customers seem to like me. I also am a fast learner but I’m not afraid to ask questions before I get things wrong-and I know I do make mistakes but I really try to learn from them.

But I know fine dining is a different beast. They seem to be on the lower end of fine dining, not white glove service but definitely white table cloth. I know once I get in I can learn fast and study the menu and drinks and stuff, I just need to actually get in. How do I stand any fighting chance of going in there and not looking like an ambitious idiot?

I’m desperate because I’m putting myself through college, my car is an old junk pile that could fall apart at any minute, and my parents keep threatening to kick me out D:

To those who’s been selling and serving alcohol for a long period of time, and tips to make the whole ‘don’t be criminally negligent’ less daunting. I’m terrified I’m gonna either offend customers or do something wrong by accident.
