My 7 yo granddaughter has been gardening with me since she was born, and loves to spend her time watering, planting and eating right off the vine. She even saves her own seeds at this point.

This weekend I taught her about tendrils and what they do and why they do it etc and we were both impressed by this tendril taking advantage of a hole in a potato plant leaf 💕

May our youth always be interested in gardening, just like my 82 yo dad who still gardens taught me 💕

P.S it skipped a generation bc my kids aren’t really into it 🤭

Looking to get information if this is anything artifact or too modern…found in SW AZ, Sierra Vista

I’ve personally seen a lot of pottery shards in the past but never saw one in this area and while this looks similar to what I have seen in other parts of AZ this is a little different on the backside, not as smooth as other shards I have seen. TIA

I haven’t seen any pollinators at all, which I guess may not be unusual as this is my first time planting in this location and this is a very urban area so maybe there isn’t much from my neighbors for them to be around for. But I see little melons, so should I get rid of the ants now or just leave it alone?

And the ants pollinated this, right? I didn’t even know that was possible 🫪

Well not to me anyway. Let me try and briefly explain…

I spent decades being afraid to live alone. Not for the reasons you would think…I was afraid to live alone because who would fix a broken pipe, a broken appliance, mend a fence or fix a car problem? Who would kill a spider or worse, remove a mouse or other creature not permitted to be inside?

I would convince myself that I didn’t really have enough income to live by myself, which wasn’t true, I just didn’t want to find myself alone and in need of someone to “take care” of issues I thought I couldn’t take care of myself.

Then one day, I woke up. Like fully, seriously woke up. I have the icome to live alone, I just needed to learn to live within my means. Period.

So this green bean plant, is the first time in my 55 years of life, that I planted something all by myself…no one there to dig the garden (I didn’t dig because I am renting 🤭), lift the heavy bags of soil, pull the weeds, run the tiller, decide what will be planted and when and where etc etc. I went to the store and bought the supplies, set them up, planted the seeds, took care of everything…I water it, I watch it, me….ALL ME!

I know to someone who doesn’t live alone this seems trivial, but for the first time since I moved out on my own (3 years ago) I am realizing, I CAN do it! ALL ALONE! 🏆💕

I had these and weirdly my parents kept them at my grandparents house, now I know why LOL I used to love clomping around on these, and today I learned they were actually for coordination and balance 🤣

My tortie Pippa pooped on the couch two days in a row…if popular opinion is that she has a medical issue I have no problem getting her in right away to be checked, BUT please hear me out, because I am also wondering if she’s punishing me…

The ONLY thing different in her life, is that Saturday and Sunday (today) morning I slept in and she didn’t get her morning wet food at 4AM! THE ONLY THING!

The litter box is clean, and is scooped the minute she uses it (I work from home and I am always home pretty much). There are no obstructions to her getting to the litter box…she is the only cat and always has been…her food hasn’t changed…she is peeing in the litter box…she has dry food down and it’s full 24/7 so she can eat whenever she wants, no starving cat here!

So, yesterday morning I slept in, I got up about 5am and as I am getting up I smell her poop, it stinks as usual…so I immediately go to the litter box to scoop it, only it’s not there, great…I immediately hunt it down, and it’s on the couch, in my spot! She literally pooped in my spot….it’s just me and her and I sit on the same side of the couch every time. So, that’s where she left it…and she did it just as I was getting up, so I immediately thought it was strange.

This morning….same thing! I slept in again…she pooped in my spot on the couch again 😭

The reason I think it’s punishment is because she made it a point to poop in my spot on the couch again…not on the floor somewhere…yes, I know to clean it using enzymes so she won’t go there again but I need to get out to the store today to deal with that, otherwise I sanitized the area with disinfectant that I have on hand. I also found out about the cat attract or whatever it’s called you put in the litter box to make sure they use it, which I’m happy to buy if I have to, but still….am I literally being punished for sleeping in?

Our normal routine…I wake up at 4am and start work at 5…I feed her wet food when I get up and twice more in the day (brekkie lunch and dinner basically).

Am I literally never allowed to sleep in again?

I thought these would make perfect seedling starters, complete with their own transparent lid. And yes, I washed them thoroughly 😇

One is from pancakes and one is from a rotisserie chicken.

Has this worked for anyone? I’m hoping it will work…happy gardening 🌱💚
