How do people become professors?

Hello everyone. I'm a very devout muslim theologian. Though I'm working on some theology related projects right now, I want a sort of 'normal job' at the back of my mind to fall back on. For me, becoming a muslim/islamic studies professor seemed the most logical (and it seems great to teach a class!). But I'm unsure on how to become one? I hear whispers about needing to become a TA, that only a masters is needed some places while a Phd might actually be expected in most? Is there a work experience requirement? I tried googling it but there was no clear answer really.

P.S: I will say, I suspect that this niche field may be a bit more lenient than other fields in its professorship requirements especially in the liberal arts. It is exceedingly rare, really, to find someone with a Phd that would be considered 'legit' within the islamic field (from Al Azhar, some Saudi Arabian University, etc). There are some random Phd programs in more western accredited universities but I'm jaded to thing they are effectively white-washed, impotent, with content literally nonsensical (as often this religion is taught by people who hardly speak to muslims, let alone are one).

What do we think?

(PS please excuse the very lax language and grammar here, lol).

College student. How do I get into Public Admin?

Hey everyone! Since a long while, I loved the idea of managing government programs and people to help society (I've since done a community activism coalition and can understand some of the great frustration people have with PA, but still!).

The idea of having to 'run' seemed awful: tons of money needed with a loose chance at helping people, on top of having to kiss babies? Not a big fan.

So, PA seems perfect! But it seems like a rather huge, down the stream career position. Is that assumption true? If not, how do I get into this career?

PS: I heard rural areas really need PAs, and are willing to hire more newbies.

Is 'Dark Empathy' real?

Hey guys. Between cursory searches of empathy/psychopathy, came something in between: dark empathy. Apparently, I really don't know though, it's phenomena when someone can be deeply empathetic but can (willingly or unwillingly?) switch to straight up unfeelingness toward bad things happening to people (like literal psychopathy). I haven't heard or seen anything about it, but wouldn't be surprised if its a pretty rare thing. And if its fake, is there anything like it in real life?

Am I missing something?

Hello all. I've heard of the (really, really) remote alaskan teaching positions that pay alot with free housing and moving costs subsidized (speaking in a general ideal scenario) - and I'm quite interested.

Now, I love this sort of rugged environment and isolation; but I really want to do it for the cash. With the housing heavily subsidized/paid for, no state income tax, great pay, and an ideal (believe it or not) environment for me, It seems I could save like 80% of my take home pay.

But everyone always complains about Alaska's cost of living, and make it seem as if everyone is barely surviving. Am I missing something or is that major savings goal well within reach?

[TOMT][SONG] Emo/Punk/Alt song of a man yelling 'and call my name in to the night(?)....'

I'm really not sure where I heard of this, besides perhaps tiktok or maybe youtube shorts?

It sounds like a typical emo song, and I think I heard it in the context of making fun of goth people as well. I literally have no information besides this and the clip ringing in my head, lmk what yall think.

Is finding someone to just give infra for a credit card impossible?

Hello everyone, taking a break from emailing sales teams of x, y and z providers. My goal is to basically make my own secured credit card that people can use anywhere, but with slight tweaks to make it religiously compliant (not all religions like interest, in case you didn't know).

But, I've been hearing/seeing that a lot of those companies which do have the power to issue and structure such cards have huge costs monthly. I know it's a bit crazy to ask, but is there any company that could deal with all the infrastructure and compliance - and it's actually pretty cheap for a bootstrapped startup?

Thinking about getting into Poli Sci - Data Analytics...

ATTENTION EVERYONE WHO KNOWS SOMETHING ABOUT THIS MAJOR:

Hey yall, I didn't see any math pre-reqs, but this does seem to be a technical major. Do we really not need any math prior knowledge (I have rough pre-calc level knowledge).

And alot of people say this led them to genuine data/SWE jobs, does anyone know that to be true?

LAST QUESTION PLS: Are the classes easy? Are they like math/data/comp sci kind of classes? More just poli sci classes with a sprinkling of coding? What do I expect?

Thanks everyone!!

Wanting to learn sales the hard way. Any tips?

Hey everyone. I'm a rather reserved and analytical oriented person, but I want to break out and learn sales skills in-field (I'm a college student, so I'd like a part time sales position). Reasoning being, that I'm planning to start building my dream business, which greatly relies on sales capability.

But between the pyramid schemes online, and my total lack of knowledge, I'd appreciate advice on how to find real and valuable remote position where I can build sales skills.
