Happy Sunday everyone! What are you buidling today?

Hey all, hope you’re having a great weekend!

Just wanted to share a quick milestone: Our startup, NextIsOnMe (NIOM), officially crossed 500 real-world events hosted across 118 cities! 🌍

For context, NIOM is an offline social network operating in high-density metros. The hook is simple: a venue or host covers the bill to remove the financial friction of meeting new people in real life.

Our biggest takeaway getting to this point? Digital ads are a trap for early B2B onboarding. We stopped burning cash on digital acquisition and shifted entirely to a "concierge service", using boots-on-the-ground team members to physically walk into cafes, build trust, and manually onboard them. It completely unlocked our growth loop.

We’re staying lean, self-funded, and focused on clearing our tech backlog this week.

But enough about us, what are you working on today? Drop your project, a recent win, or a roadblock you're trying to smash through. Let's talk shop!

Tired of endless swiping? Built a social app to get people meeting IRL over a drink (NextIsOnMe). Would love your brutal feedback on the concept/UI!

Hey everyone,

Like most people here, I’ve been utterly exhausted by the current state of dating and social apps. The endless swiping loops, the ghosting, and the weeks of small talk that lead absolutely nowhere.

I wanted to build something that cuts through the digital noise and pushes people to actually meet up in the real world. The project is called NextIsOnMe (NIOM).

The core philosophy is simple: break the ice by removing the friction of the first move. Instead of swiping on profiles for hours, the app connects people through local venue interactions and community meetups where the setup is naturally hospitable (the name says it all, "Next is on me").

Where we are at: We are currently in our live rollout phase, focusing heavily on onboarding initial venues in select hubs (specifically targeting major metro spots like Mumbai right now to seed the concept). Because of this, you might not see local cafes in your specific city just yet!

What I need from this community: As a developer, I am too close to my own code. I need fresh, cynical eyes. I would incredibly appreciate it if you could take a look at our web flow or app interface and give me your unfiltered, brutal reviews on:

  1. The Concept: Does the idea of venue-centric, giveaway-style icebreakers actually appeal to you over standard swiping?
  2. The UI/UX: Is the onboarding flow smooth, or is it confusing?
  3. Feature Ideas: What would make you feel safer or more excited to show up to a venue to meet a stranger using an app like this?

No sugarcoating needed, tell me what works and what completely misses the mark.

Thanks in advance for helping an independent developer out!

New week, new milestones! What’s moving the needle for your project right now? 🚀

Hello everyone, and have a great week ahead!

Last week, we focused heavily on user acquisition for NextIsOnMe (NIOM), a social platform built to tackle the loneliness epidemic and fix the broken dynamics of modern dating and networking by getting people off screens and into local spaces.

This week, we are diving straight into the second half of the marketplace equation: Venue Onboarding. We’ve officially deployed our regional sales and activation team on the ground in major metro hubs across India (Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bangalore) to start partnering with premium lounges, bars, and cafés. The goal is simple: help venues turn their slowest mid-week hours into vibrant, high-margin revenue streams by routing our user clusters directly to their doors through automated giveaway redemptions.

It’s messy, fast-paced, and incredibly exciting.

I’d love to hear about your progress:

  • What are you launching or optimizing this week?
  • If you’ve built a dual-sided marketplace before, what was your absolute best breakthrough for getting merchants to say "yes" early on?

Let’s connect, share feedback, and push each other forward!

Regards,

John

New week, new challenges! What are you building these days? 🚀

Hello everyone, and have a great week ahead!

I’m building NextIsOnMe , a social app aimed at fixing the broken dynamic of modern networking and dating. The concept is "Treat and Meet", using a simple real-world gesture (like a coffee or a drink) to fast-track genuine human connections and get people off their screens and into local venues.

We are now trying to break the "chicken-and-egg" problem that most social apps face.

Last week we focused successfully on user acquisition. We plan to establish a solid base of users first in a few large cities, and as a next step, we will focus on the Venues part, the second piece of the puzzle.

I’d love to hear about your projects!

What are you launching or optimizing this month?

How is your progress, and what is the biggest non-technical challenge you are facing right now?

Let’s chat, share feedback, and help each other out.

Regards,

John
