Bought these in a FB sale. Clearly first born

But what can i do with them? They dont have any weapons so i cant put the models together. Also what sculpt are they? It looks like late 90s but i didnt think GW made plastic kits till the 2000s.

The Steel Varangians are an ancient Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes, raised during the 22nd Founding. Though their gene-stock remains officially unknown, their ritual use of runes, oath-marks, and saga-records has led some Imperial scholars to suspect descent from the line of Leman Russ. Others point to their exceptional aptitude for siegecraft, armored assaults, and methodical attritional warfare as evidence of descent from Ferrus Manus. In more heretical circles, darker whispers persist: that the Steel Varangians may carry the blood of the traitor Perturabo.

The Varangians are a fleet-based chapter, recruiting primarily from worlds in and around the Gothic Sector.Their aspirants are drawn from voidborn clans, mining colonies, and feudal worlds. New recruits are taught that oaths, once sworn must be kept.

Unlike most Astartes Chapters, the Steel Varangians maintain an unusually close and formal relationship with elements of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Across the centuries, they have entered into numerous binding compacts with forge worlds. In exchange for vows of service such as the recovery of lost STC fragments, the defense of said forge worlds, the reclamation of archaeotech vaults, and the protection of Mechanicus expeditions the Chapter receives sacred recompense: relic weapons, ancient war engines, rare armor marks, and extensive fleet maintenance.

As a result, the Steel Varangians field an unusually large number of older suits of armor, ancient machines, and sacred weapons. Their armories contain venerable machines that many Chapters would consider irreplaceable treasures. To the Varangians, such wargear is not merely equipment, but proof of oaths fulfilled.

Their critics call them mercenaries in ceramite. The Steel Varangians reject the charge. They do not fight for wealth, nor do they sell their loyalty. They swear compacts, honor debts, and exact payment in steel

And the reason i ask is cause most space marine chapters recruit from Deatg Worlds. So other than lore why has there not been a decision to establish a space marine chapters on or in the Armageddon sector?
