SBIR and Innovation Grants

I am wondering how hard it is to get SBIR and Innovation Grants in the United States. It might be a way to avoid having to raise early funding. What has your experience been with this. How likely is it to happen.

Please test out my ebookstore hexagon.

I have two things which I need tested out. I have proved the payment system for the ebookstore works. I earned 70 cents in commissions Now I have to convince someone that they should buy an ebook. This is a link to the annotated classic ebooks hexagon if you want to look around. https://babelnexus.com/beyond-public-domain/#annotated-classics

I am also curious to see if anyone wants to donate a quarter in my coffee cup. I bought a book to test it out and donated $1 so it should work.  So I have earned $1.70

Do you sell ebooks online? Best options.

Right now, I am using bookshop.org However, I am finding that they do not have a lot of university press or specialty ebooks available. Are there any other good affiliate programs that might cover more academic or specialty ebook titles? Want to know my best options. There are things like wisdom literature titles which I would like to get.

Looking for Specialty Sites and Directories to Post A Book Application

I am looking for sites where I can post a book application. Places which will accept sites that are focused on books, libraries, publishing, digital humanities, academic publishing, and similar things. The general directories are not focused enough for what I am doing. I am not going to list my application here. This is a general query. I have posted about this in two other places. I am hoping to find some acceptable places. The book application is a virtual ebook repository using threejs.org a form of 3 dimensional javascript. This is an example of a 3D Library https://discourse.threejs.org/t/myshelves-a-first-person-library-you-build-book-by-book/93870 It is a different than my app. I don't want to be seen as self promoting.

Places to submit book sites (Directories, Websites, and other Places)

I am looking for places that are specialty where you can submit a booksite. DIrectories and websites that focus on publishing, ebooks, digital humanities, libraries, independent websites and other specialty areas. Sites which are looking for unusual content focused on books, publishing, digital humanities, and libraries. The generic directories are not that useful to me.

Can't Change my email address in Startup Credits

I applied for Replit Startup credits. When I first put it in, it indicated that I needed a business email to apply. I went back in to provide a new business email for my project and found that I could not change the email in the application. I have the updated email, but the form is locked. There are a number of things which I would like to change. There should be an update function and an ability to change the email. https://replit.com/startups I am also considering applying to Artizen and a few other places. There are several different token grants which I have seen. LinkedIn just announced one https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/introducing-tokens-future-token-grants-ai-builders-reid-hoffman-bx9zc/ Another unrelated question is has anybody used Buy Me A Coffee the social fund or similar things. I am looking for Token Grants and ways to pay for coverage of token costs.

Best Auditing Tool for a Replit Site

I have been using a variety of free marketing oriented audit tools. I think I have gotten as far as I can get with these. I am starting to get into loops where they tend to generate fixes that are not there or not accurate. I am at the point where I might need to pay for a good quality audit. I want to get to the point where the site gets past the point of good into the excellent category.

I have tried Screaming Frog. I have asked Claude and Gemini to audit my site. I want something better. I did not want to pay for Semrush. I have fed suggestions into Claude from various audit tools to have it check the audit, then fed them again into Replit.

I am looking for solid technical and design tool a bit more than Lighthouse or devtools, or the standard speed tests. I have used Figma at the design level, the free version. I have also used the Replit Design tools. I am hoping to go a little further.

I have made the suggestions in the audits to replit and it has improved my site.

Limitations of Replit

I have been having trouble with load speed for my pages. Replit has indicated because I am using 3D Galleries that I cannot increase the speed. It is also having issues with speeding up javascript.

I am finding it is also have some issues with the ability to handle font families, colors, and font pairing.

I have been able to do pretty much everything except for some design and speed limitations. Trying to figure out what to do.

Looking for testers to improve my Application Babelnexus

Please look over my application, Babel Nexus https://babelnexus.com I need some pointers on how I can improve it. I have run it through different site auditors. Some of the feedback I am looking for are about the fonts, colors, and spacing. I also need to know if the about, and other copy is easy to get to. Also, is the Call to Action easy to follow. There is a lot here. I would also like suggestions about how to expand the hexagon subjects. I have a lot of subjects, but I know there are more available. Please look over the site for feedback. I have done a lot with it already.

I am also trying to decide which business form this should take. Should it be a public benefit corporation, nonprofit, LL3C, or LLC. It is a decision I need to make soon. I am not sure about asking for money now until I have a corporate form. What does it impress you as?

Promoting and backlinks

I am seeing that most backlink directories charge. I am trying to find the quality ones. Two of them are quality and bring some traffic Hackernews and Metafilter. Metafilter cost me $5. $5 or $10 is reasonable, beyond that I am not spending a lot of money. Sof if there are any quality backlink sites let me know. Some people have suggested the Github links. A lot of my traffic comes from Linkedin, a little from Facebook, and a lot from Reddit. Most of what I am seeing does not work very well. I don't mind participating on places like Medium or Substack. Solid real things that steadily build traffic. I have applied to a few places that have not gotten anything, but that is alright. This is an experiment for me.

Early Stage App, Babel Nexux, I felt compelled to build it.

I was reading the short story by Jorge Luis Borges, The Library of Babel. I realized that you could use the structure of the Library of Babel to build a public domain ebook repository. The hexagonal galleries and spiral staircases could be used to house almost anything. I am trying something different and experimental. This is a curated list based on core collection theory. It is not an everything app.

I started by first trying ChatGPT, found out I could not do it, then tried Google Gemini, advanced a little, then started on Replit. It has been a challenge to build what I am doing. I am paying for it right now. I have gotten to the point where I think I have proof of concept and am starting to turn it into something useful. I am the sole person working on this. I am still trying to figure out what structure I plan to use.

The more I think that I need other people to work with, the more new things open up and I can continue. For example, recently I learned that I could vibe code in 3D using javascript libraries like three.js. I have worked on this for months. I am it. I am doing everything and learning everything right now. https://babelnexus.com

I still have not figured out if I should turn it into a social business, a nonprofit, or a business. It is completely up in the air.

Experimentation with Public Domain Works. Apps, sites, etc.

I have seen a number of new experiments for selling or distributing public domain books and material.

Lex-Books which is a huge repository. https:// lex-books.com/ 3D Bookshop https://comparisontabl.es/3d-bookshop/

Right now, I am experimenting with public domain books as well in my Babel Nexus system which uses hexagonal galleries and reading trails. Https://babelnexus.com This uses a lot of curation or selection and will grow over time.

I am interested in finding out about other sites and applications which are using public domain material to experiment with ideas and applications. I am using public domain material because it is free and allows for proof of concept. Vibe coding, artificial intelligence, and coding automation makes it much easier to make these kind of things.

Also, there are new languages like three.js which can be used to easily create 3d environments which can be used to contain media. I am also interested in how other formats like comics, and audiobooks (librivox) for example are being used.

Getting feedback on things like techniques, languages, coding samples would be helpful.

Vibe coded applications made by librarians.

Who here has made vibe coded applications for libraries? I am curious as to what is out there. I have seen a variety of different applications, story time generators, circulation analysis, web counters, and other things specifically designed for libraries? I watched a seminar on Library 2.0 for vibe coding. Would like to see what is out there as well as any specific design coding specifically for vibe coding in libraries.

This is the llms.txt for my website, Babel Nexus. It is a set of galleries of books from the public domain

Babel Nexus Index

This is my side project, a discovery system for the public domain. A three-floor knowledge graph: 19 science hexagonal galleries on Level I, 16 literature hexagonal galleries on Level II, and 8 wisdom hexagonal galleries on Level III — 43 hexagonal galleries holding 563 primary works (books, papers, and reports, every one in the public domain), plus an AI Oracle (powered by Google Gemini) that answers free-form questions about the Archive. Built in the lineage of Jorge Luis Borges' *Library of Babel*, Vannevar Bush's Memex, and H. G. Wells' *World Brain*.
