I wanna get acquainted with my Jewish heritage, any advice?

My parents were born and raised Jewish, but they both have since separated from it, my mom choosing a pagan lifestyle, and my dad choosing an atheist one. Because of this, I barely know anything about my Jewish lineage, and would love to learn more, so I'm wondering these things.

What should I know before I start practicing fully? Any books I should read, the like? And is there a way to eat kosher if you don't have the money for actual kosher meat?

What are some things I should learn about the different traditions of Judaism? Talking of course, about the disrespectful and respectful things one can do.

What books should I get for learning judaism? I know about getting the Koren siddurs and such, but I wanna learn more about the full mythological stuff.
