I make longer form content and know a decent bit about the algorithm. I know enough that any video that is around an hour gets suggested more often than one that is around 30 minutes. On the same hand, a shorter video is also more likely to be watchedd, as people are not very commital. DO i chop my video into two parts, write an intro and outro for both, or just suck it up and post the 30 minute video unfiltered.

i did the wrong thing. when i was looking at my videos, i thought since i made a drum corps video and it got popular, than id put more effort into my next one and it would get better results tenfold. but i didn't think about what everyone wanted to actually watch. i looked over video essay channels i like; nexpo, whang, frankie fey and i tried to make a teaser to link up to a certain style that does well. compared to my old editing style that was add image, add captions, and fade to next scene, i think its an insane improvement. This is the first minute of my new video project and i want to gauge interest. also praise because the pivot I'm making means a full script rewrite and everything rerecorded. Let me know
Finally i finished my first episode on my history of the entire history of drumcorps. This post may feel a bit more bare bones than future installments, but there isn't much history on video aside from reenactments.
as some of you may know, i make drum corps video stuff. i put out my last video a week ago, and am now almost done with a second 40 minute video. its a lot harder editing than just slapping drum corps footage down and adding a voice over, but is a week a good amount of time??? i have no clue how quickly or slowly i should put out content. i plan for my next video to be about the evolution and acceptance of g bugles in history. i would show off my own bugle collection, introduce them and give a few paragraphs about their history, the company and the usage by different corps. that would of course take a bit longer, but not as nearly much as the research of a history video. i was thinking like a week on that one as thats easy content to make. and i plan on doing one history video, then one fluff filler video. let me know.
I’m not going to come on here just to complain, but I’ve now been working for four days on my 1700s to 1900s drum corps history project. And I’ve only just now gotten to the point where I have all of the audio working into my software with very minimal visual. Considering I’m working two jobs, content creation is a nightmare and I commend anyone that does this full-time. It’s looking like the first video in my series is going to pan out to be around 40 minutes long which doesn’t sound like much but it is the shortest in the series considering I have 50 pages of research on just the 1970s alone. Look forward to big things.

I’ve now marched my first season of world class drumcorps with the group the cavaliers. In the 1950s, the group adopted the standing man logo from the Cavalier cigarette brand. Though they have become increasingly rare, promotional items are seen as near religious by some members like me, hence the post.
Our member jackets don patches and pins, most notoriously the standing man pin from the 1940s promotional run done by the cigarette company. They look like this, and I’m currently looking for active listings for them. It would mean the world to an alumni to get my hands on a pin
I have personally searched eBay, depop, Etsy and grailed. I’ve found only two listings, both not only out of my price range, but also in not great condition. I hope to collect as many listings as possible to not only purchase but to send to the alumni association to purchase for future members.
