IUI# 3 on 8/17

IUI #3 was on 8/17. At my last monitoring appointment I had:
Left: 20, 18, 16, mm
Right: 18, mm
Lining: 7.6 mm
I triggered Saturday night and had my IUI Monday morning. Partner’s post-wash was 7.5 M (30M/mL, 50% motility).

I also had my first IVF consultation on 8/18, but my next IVF appointment isn’t until 9/7, which already puts me into another cycle. If this IUI doesn’t work, I’m leaning toward doing IUI#4, rather than sitting a cycle out.

For those who eventually moved from IUI to IVF, Did you keep doing IUIs while waiting for IVF consultations/testing, or did you take a break?

It’s hard balancing wanting to give IUI a fair chance with feeling like I’m losing time waiting to move forward with IVF.

For those who switched fertility clinics during IUI treatment…how did you do it without losing a cycle?

I’m considering changing clinics if I don’t have success after a couple more IUIs, but I really don’t want to skip a cycle unnecessarily.
For those who switched clinics:
● What made you decide it was time to leave?
● Were you able to transition smoothly, or did you have to take a cycle off?

I’d love to hear how you navigated the transition and any tips for avoiding delays.

How many rounds of antibiotics did it take to clear your chronic endometritis?

I was recently diagnosed with chronic endometritis through an endometrial biopsy and just finished doxycycline 2x/14 days.
I’m curious on your experiences:
How many rounds of antibiotics did it take before your biopsy came back clear?
Were you prescribed doxycycline alone or a combination (“cocktail”) of antibiotics?
Did your doctor repeat the biopsy to confirm it had cleared?
Did you go on to have a successful IUI or IVF after treatment?

Taking Clomid + doxycycline for endometritis during an IUI cycle?

Has anyone taken Clomid and doxycycline at the same time while preparing for an IUI?

I was recently diagnosed with chronic endometritis through an endometrial biopsy, and my doctor prescribed doxycycline. I’m also starting/continuing a medicated IUI cycle with Clomid, so I’m curious about others’ experiences doing both in the same cycle.

Did you continue with the IUI cycle while taking doxy?
Did doxy affect your follicle growth, lining, ovulation, or side effects?
Did your clinic repeat the biopsy before another IUI?
Did anyone have success after treating endometritis?

For those who DON’T test out your trigger (or don’t test at all), what made you decide that?

I’m curious because so many people test every day after their trigger, but I’ve decided not to.

For me, it’s about protecting my mental health. I know I’d obsess over every line, and I don’t think testing will change the outcome. I’d rather wait until my beta, my period, or around 13–14 DPO.

If you chose not to test:
What influenced your decision?
If you’ve tried both, which did you prefer?

Endo biopsy results

Has anyone else been diagnosed with chronic endometritis only because they pushed for more testing?

I’m feeling really frustrated and honestly just need to vent.

My fertility workup has been largely normal (unexplained infertility), and I recently completed my first IUI (2 tww). Before starting treatment, I kept asking my RE about doing additional testing, including an endometrial biopsy. It wasn’t initially recommended, but I advocated for it because I wanted to rule out everything possible before continuing treatment.

Well…the biopsy came back positive for chronic endometritis, and now I have to take doxycycline.
Part of me is relieved to finally have an answer, but another part of me is upset that I had to keep advocating for these tests myself. Now I’m wondering if this could have been affecting my chances all along.

What has been your experience with asymptomatic chronic endometritis?
Taken doxycycline for it?
Gone on to have a successful IUI after treatment?
Did your clinic repeat the biopsy to confirm it had cleared before moving forward?

I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences. This process already feels so overwhelming, and this was not the news I expected to receive.

IUI and time off ?

I’m curious how others planned vacations or time off while doing IUI cycles, especially if you did back-to-back cycles.

I’m trying to schedule a few days off about 2 months from now, but it’s hard because I have no idea where I’ll be. I could be:
- Starting my 3rd IUI cycle and needing baseline ultrasound/bloodwork,
- Right in the middle of treatment,
- On my period,
- Or (hopefully!) pregnant (first IUI yesterday currently on my TWW).

For those who have gone through this, how did you plan your life around treatment? Did you avoid making plans, or did you just schedule trips and work around your clinic as best you could?

I’d especially love to hear from anyone who did consecutive IUI cycles during the summer. I don’t want fertility treatment to dictate every decision I make, but I also don’t want to miss an opportunity because I happened to plan a trip.

How did you find that balance?

Timed Intercourse success ?

For those who had a successful IUI, how did you time intercourse around your trigger shot and IUI ? Before? After? Give me your best tips. I am supposed to trigger tonight between 6-8pm and IUI schedule for Tuesday at 7:45am

Selective reduction ?

Has anyone experience tripplets and done selective reduction. I am just reading a lot of comments/frustrations on clinics canceling cycles due to multiple mature follicles, but curious as to the actual person to person experience (not statistics) in this happening. I know most of us would be excited with a singleton/twins, 3 sounds a bit scary.

This is my first IUI. My baseline was on CD3, and i am taking clomid CD3-CD7, and my mext ultrasound isnt until CD11.

First cycle IUI coming up

36, F. recently had a consult with my RE and the plan is to start a Clomid + IUI cycle. My testing has been reassuring overall (AMH 3.75, AFC 26, normal HSG, partner’s semen analysis also good), so I’m curious why Clomid was chosen instead of letrozole.

Any tips before going into my first IUI ugh is nerve racking.

IUI Clomid first cycle

36 F here, recently had a consult with my RE and the plan is to start a Clomid + IUI cycle. My testing has been reassuring overall (AMH 3.75, AFC 26, normal HSG, partner’s semen analysis also good), so I’m curious why Clomid was chosen instead of letrozole.
Did your doctor explain why they chose one over the other? If you tried both, did you notice any differences in follicle growth, lining, side effects, or success? Anything that my help me going into this first cycle?

Different results: Sono-HSG/SIS said both tubes blocked, X-ray HSG showed at least one open?

Has anyone gotten different results from a Sono-HSG/SIS vs an X-ray HSG?

I recently had what I thought it was an HSG, but later realized it was a saline infusion /sono-HSG type, not the XRAY.

After the 1st procedure i was told both tubes were blocked or “spam” which was devastating to hear.

I advocated to repeat the test and had the HSG- X ray done today. This time the results were much clear. My right tube is open and my left tube might also be open but a bit unclear still.

Has anyone has the Sono-HSG suggesting blocked tubes and then the Xray showing different results ?

I truly dont want to get my hopes up. Ive been pretty sad since the first dx procedure.

IVF oversees logistics?

Considering doing IVF abroad (possibly with Profert in the DR) due to cost. One of my biggest stressors is figuring out the logistics of all the appts, monitoring, travel, and time off from work. Would love to hear experiences in how you manage the appts and the traveling back and forth and the FMLA as a full time employee. Anyone done IVF in DR ?
