law school and grades

i just wanted to know what law school was actually like when it came to grades? is it insanely difficult to get even decent grades? do they try to weed you out? alot of this curve and the possibility of getting low grades and not being able to find a job after is stressing me out considering the debt id be getting into as a prospective applicant

i just wanted to know what it was actually like. I heard its very difficult to fail but if you put in a good amount of effort can you achieve at least decent or avg grades?

especially as a first gen student who has no connections in law

Mature students (late 20s + early 30s)

For Law students thar are in their late 20s (27+) or early thirties, did u face any barriers in getting ocis or articling or even ur first position especially in places like big law and mag

Got told the age discrimination is a little rough bc they want younger lawyers who can keep up with the hours

LSAT Score Cancellation

Hi im planning to take my lsat soon and im really hoping it goes well, but i was wondering if it doesnt go well bc of nerves or something does a score cancellation look bad, this would be my first lsat so i dont know what to expect

but with schools like uofa averaging and western weighing the first score more heavily im a bit scared about the score i get.

So i was wondering if anyoen has any insight as to whether using the score cancellation looks bad or if schools in canada prefer you dont do that?

Professor Reference Advice

So im in a bit of a query which is giving me alot of anxiety, basically i have an undergrad in science and I was going through some bad health conditions on top of working and taking a full course load. Because of this i didn't get a chance to work or do research with professors who taught me. Now im applying to law schools and almost none of my professors are willing to give me a reference for professjonal schools because I didnt do research with them

Luckily I found one really kind prof who was willing to give me the reference. They acted as my reference for medical school application cycle but i didnt get in. Howvever, I told them I was taking this year to study for my lsat and I did, but my score is not enough based on my GPA and so im wondering if I should tell them I need another year or if I should apply to a couple schools and after my applications work on improving my score and ask them for a reference again for a second cycle because I really don't want to loose the only reference I have and most schools require a reference from a prof who taught me (canadian applicant)

If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it!

Im not trying to break rules and look for personal advice but even just what u would do in my shoes or anything helps

For anyone wondering i was interested in med but in Canada its extremely difficult and although im still applying its financially straining and I worked with a couple lawyers, shadowed them and ended up really liking health law

Thank you!

Softs and how much they matter

I dont have too many softs on my application and a lot of them have been year long positions (either work contracts that lasted a year) or volunteer positions I held for a year, I was wondering if this would look bad on a law school application and how much this would negatively affect the applications (im 3 years out of undergrad, working part time in a field unrelated to my degree)

any advice helps

Dear life sci profs

why put out TA applications if your only going to interview and hire students that ur close to anyways? why can u not just be a little professional to give the rest of us a chance or at least to give those of us who are qualified a chance, just a chance, thats all im asking for
