Kung residente ka ng bahaing lugar tulad ng Navotas at nakita mong hindi bumaha sa inyo kahit pa hindi tumitigil ang pag-ulan, you will be pleasantly surprised. Mapapa-thank you Lord ka talaga.

Nakakatuwa na hindi na binabaha ang Navotas dahil gumana ang mga flood control system at measures nila. On the other hand, nakakalungkot somehow na nag-viral ito dahil hindi ito nangyayari normally.

Ang prayer ko lang ay sana ma-normalize na sa Navotas yung hindi na sila lumulubog sa baha pag high tide o kahit bagyuhin sila. Kudos din sa LGU nila at sana huwag silang tamarin na agapan ang pagbaha sa kanila.

Nasimulan na. Nagtagumpay na. Sana magtuloy-tuloy na ang ginhawa.

I chanced upon a photo of the famous Diversion Road that I took from my hotel during my business trip in Iloilo City. Remembering that weeklong travel while seeing this picture makes me wonder: what if all cities in the Philippines imitate Iloilo?

There are two words that come to my mind about Iloilo City: good governance. It may be a complex term, but I wanted to use it to describe Iloilo because exploring it just for a short period of time already manifested how people, government and even nature can work together to make the city better.

No wonder Iloilo is now seen as a model for developing cities outside urban areas. There are still many things to be done, but Iloilo City, by far, is the most livable city that I travelled for work.

I want to explore it more, and I look forward to returning there not just someone with a business trip but a full-time tourist or, maybe, a resident working there. Who knows.

Ang lakas ng loob mag salita ni robin na dapat pag may kaso harapin pero pag kasamahan nya na pugante siya mismo ang nag proprotekta!!

Number 1 na tang* talaga to!!

I live in Iloilo City, and I've seen before my very eyes how it evolved from a lowkey city to a fast rising center of Western Visayas. And what I can be proud of my hometown is how the local government exerted significant efforts to include its citizens in decision making to make its policies and programs beneficial to everyone.

Recently, I was impressed by the interview of Mayor Raisa Treñas in CNA Singapore on her vision of Iloilo City as a promising city outside the national capital region a.k.a. Metro Manila and other metropolitan areas in the country. Her answer was simple yet striking, as we Ilonggos saw how she is leading the city since she started her tenure as the first elected female mayor of Iloilo City on July 2025.

"We dream to be a better city."

Becoming a better city doesn't mean it needs to vast. When the city can provide its citizens its basic necessities and, at the same time, can communicate with its citizens about their plans, it definitely constitutes a people-centered city, thus, making it a better city for everyone.

Many things are happening and it's just one year of her mayoralty. There is no perfect government, but we remain proud of Mayor Raisa and her administration for making us part of the government and doing its level best to provide the fastest service for its people.
