Frustrating that the Premier League wouldn’t move our Arsenal match

I saw in Glasner’s press conference that the club asked for the Arsenal game to be moved forward to Saturday since the title race is already decided, but the Premier League rejected it. Meanwhile La Liga apparently moved Rayo Vallecano’s fixture to help with preparation, and we’re left with barely any recovery time before our first European final. Feels frustrating how little support English clubs sometimes get in these situations. Do you think Glasner should fully rotate tomorrow and prioritise keeping everyone fresh for Leipzig?

Took this exactly a year ago today in Worcester 🌈 Still one of the prettiest skies I’ve seen here.

Do the premium independent restaurant orders actually pay off for you?

Uber seems to be pushing loads of trendy independent restaurants lately, but honestly every time I accept one I end up waiting ages while they freshly make the food. Feels like it completely destroys the hourly rate compared to just doing nonstop McDonald’s or Greggs runs. Do people actually find the tips on these orders worth the extra wait, or do you avoid them completely?

Anyone go to the rider battery safety roadshow at Leeds Fire Station?

Saw that Deliveroo partnered with West Yorkshire Fire Service last week for a rider event at Leeds Fire Station. They were checking e-bike batteries and chargers because of all the lithium fire concerns lately. Did anyone here actually go? Was it genuinely helpful, or did it mostly feel like a compliance check on everyone’s kit?

Caught a really nice view of the bridge from the Cathedral grounds!

Took a stroll by the Cathedral earlier and caught this view of Worcester Bridge and the Severn. Even with the gloomy weather, it’s still one of the nicest spots in the city to just sit for a bit. Where's your favorite place to go for peace and quiet around here?

Rewatching Series 18 and I forgot how truly unhinged Phil’s run was

I started rewatching some old Apprentice clips and honestly forgot how chaotic Phil Turner’s run was. The man owned a successful pie company, lost the literal pie task early on, then somehow went on to lose nine tasks overall and still made the final two. Every single week it felt like he’d be sitting in that bridge cafe completely resigned to getting fired, only for someone else to go instead. Honestly has to be one of the greatest reality TV escape acts ever. Are there any other past candidates you thik had absolutely no business making it that far?

Is the Leapmotor B10 actually the first “sensible” electric family car at £30k?

For £29,995, the B10 honestly seems packed with stuff you’d normally expect on much more expensive EVs, 360 cameras, ventilated seats and decent range as standard. Now that BYD and other Chinese brands are dropping prices too, are we finally reaching the point where EVs stop feeling massively overpriced compared to petrol cars? I still can’t decide if I’d trust one long term over something like a used Kona or Niro though, mainly because of software and reliability.

The old RT 624 looking great against the City skyline.

I’ve always loved the look of these heritage buses. The vintage TDK ad is such a classic touch, too. It’s a nice change of pace from the usual modern fleet you see around Tower Hill.

What’s the one track you heard on 6 this month that you’ve now played on repeat 50 times?

I feel like the daytime playlist has been particularly strong lately, but there’s one song I can't seem to escape. I heard English Teacher’s "The World’s Biggest Paving Slab" on Lauren’s show a few weeks back and it’s basically been on a loop ever since. It has that perfect mix of deadpan vocals and huge guitar hooks that just feels like peak 6 Music. I’ve gone from Shazaming it in the kitchen to knowing every single lyric. Has anyone else had a discovery this month that’s completely taken over your rotation? I'd love to find some more gems to add to my playlist.

Anyone else remember the first time they heard Brett Anderson’s voice?

I found this picture today and it reminded me of the first time I heard “Metal Mickey”. I remember thinking it sounded completely different to anything else I’d been listening to at the time. Darker, stranger and way more dramatic. I must’ve played that song a thousand times that summer. What was the first Suede song that made you realise they weren’t just another indie band?

What’s your favourite track from Invaders Must Die?

I’ve been spinning this RSD remix vinyl today and it’s reminded me just how solid the whole album is. For me, it’s a toss-up between Warrior's Dance and Take Me to the Hospital. They both just have that raw energy that never gets old. What about you lot? Are you more about the big hits like Omen or do you think the title track is still their best opener?

FA Cup success, Europe, big nights at Selhurst and a manager who actually seems to fit the club really well… it genuinely feels like Palace are in a different place compared to a few years ago. Even when results haven’t been perfect, the atmosphere around the club feels much bigger lately. For fans who’ve supported Palace longer, does this feel like one of the best periods the club has had in modern times?

Most people immediately jump to Fat of the Land, but I feel like Jilted Generation is the true soul of The Prodigy. It has that raw, dark, cinematic rave energy that’s so hard to replicate. I’ve just been staring at this cover art yesterday, it perfectly captures how the music feels. Where does this sit in your personal ranking of their albums?

Absolute maestro on the strings. Gizz brought that proper punk aggression that made the 90s live shows iconic. Best live band ever, period.

Quick heads up for anyone on the trail, there’s an extreme wildfire warning for April 30 and May 1 due to very dry conditions. Even small sparks can cause fires, so best to avoid stoves, BBQs, or anything like that for now. If you see any fire, report it to 999.
