Online age verification is coming to the US, we have to stop it.

If these laws pass being online anonymously will be impossible, it's already hard but now it will be literally impossible to use social media without giving up all of your personal information. This means that it will be far easier to censor people, if you get banned off social media there will be no way to get back on it. That's really bad especially with how terrible AI moderation is, people have had their YouTube channels banned for child engagement even when there are no kids In the video and kids aren't even mentioned. Some of this age verification advocacy is even being funded by meta. Child protection advocacy groups are fighting against this. This isn't about safety, or protecting kids. This is an attack on freedom of speech. The Internet is also a place for community that can help kids especially abused and LGBTQ+ kids. The Internet is a safe space for many teens and there is less and less to actually do outside the house every day. The Internet can and has 100% done terrible things to kids but educating kids and their parents about online danger and having things like at home parental controls solves this. These laws will no doubt only send kids to much less safe sights where predators and other horrible people can much more easily access them. Some of the darkest shit on the Internet happens on those sights. All these laws do is take freedom and hurt kids. Please protest against this, do everything you can to fight back. If you're outside of the US it's either coming to you as well or already has so you need to fight too. Even if it passes it can be reversed, it's never too late to fight for freedom. The best way to fight is to protest. If you can't simply educate people and voice your opinion, even call your local representatives. Please we can actually stop this if we try, I'm not giving up and neither should you.

I'm so bad at sleeping

Every night I tell myself I need to take care of myself and get good sleep now here I am watching a wendigoon video and scrolling through reddit posting a lot actually which is super rare for me. Man I want to be smart, I want to be in shape, I want to live long, I want to feel good, but here I am. It's like it's impossible for me to make healthy decisions.

My math teacher is a Zionist conspiracy theorist

This has been stressing me out for long enough I need to vent about it, plus it's kinda funny. So my math teacher is a hard-core Zionist, she believes Israel is genuinely the most moral army and that the UN and Democrats are trying to destroy Israel. She justifies this by claiming Israel was there first because the Bible says so and we as Christians must stand for Israel. Everything she talks about has something to do with Israel, one time I was having a conversation about this place in Japan that like gave people with dementia jobs or something and she turned it into a conversation about how Israel uses autistic people to monitor security cameras 😭. One time I said something about Batman and she started going on about some Jewish guy that dresses up as Batman because of a kid killed in October 7th. She also thinks the reason there are so many middle eastern countries was a conspiracy by "the Muslims" to out vote pro Israel decisions at the UN 🥀🥀🥀. She has also dropped some other very interesting information on me, like how she thinks Hillary Clinton is like Thanos or something and wants to kill a bunch of people to reduce overpopulation. She also believes "the reason people aren't as healthy as they used to be" (which obviously isn't true) is because of GMOs. If you're wondering why she's talking to students about extremist right wing politics in s math class I don't even fucking know, I go to a private Christian school so this is what I have to deal with 🥀. Anyways I just needed to tell somebody about this lol, i hope it's at least funny or something.

I am going to do judo as my first martial art, any advice?

After heavy consideration I have decided judo will be my first martial art. I'm very excited to start training when I'm able. I have looked online and found some injury prevention exercises so I'm going to start doing those asap because I already hurt my knee a few months ago and am not fully recovered, so I'm going to have to wait to start training at least a few more weeks. I take my body very seriously. Well does anyone have any advice, or things I should know before I start training?

How much will training aikido benefit a grappler?

Let me start out by saying I know that although it can be hard to find, if trained right aikido can work, and I am definitely not a hater of any martial art. With that said if somebody trained judo, BJJ, wrestling, or whatever other mainstream grappling art and decided they wanted to add in another grappling martial art with some standing joint locks and strikes should they choose aikido? I mean as opposed to hapkido, japenese jujutsu, traditional karate, ECT. What benefits do you guys think aikido brings to the table specifically?

Should Karate be my first martial art?

I'm considering karate or judo as my first art. I made a post on r/Judo already and they had some very good reasons why I should consider Judo, but before I make my decision I want to get some input from karate guys too. My goal is to basically just do martial arts because I'm passionate about them even though I haven't gotten a chance to train that much. I just think they are one of the most interesting things I know about. Also I want to be a good and complete fighter (not as a profession) and be able to defend myself of course. I just want to use one of these arts as a starting point/base art. Since karate is pretty diverse I should clarify I'm most likely going to train shito ryu or shorin ryu karate if I choose karate because those are what the karate gyms in my area teach.

Should I do judo as my first martial art?

I am really into martial arts but due to injuries, schedule problems, and indecisiveness I have never actually trained before besides at some karate Mcdojos as a little kid. My goal is really just to be a martial artist for the rest of my entire life, also being good at fighting is very important to me too. Anyways I think I'm going to do either judo, MMA, or traditional karate. (Yes I know MMA is most practical for being a good fighter the fastest). Anyways I just think judo is very beautiful and seems like a great starting place but I'm extremely indecisive, it's something that runs in my family so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Why do I deserve hell?

No really what did I do that was so bad. I don't deserve to die and definitely not be crucified. I don't deserve to burn forever in hell. I finally have the self worth to say that. Seriously explain to me how my life is worthless without a guy I've never seen in person. Explain why I should love a man who never talks to me more than my mother. Explain to me why lying about believing in him to save my or someone else's life is so bad. What do you all think of these thoughts.

Asking for martial arts gyms in Virginia Beach

I am looking for good gyms in my area, specifically if you know any that do Wing Chun, hapkido, judo, or traditional karate. Just wondering if anyone here knows of some good quality gyms that do anything like that in this area, thanks.

I was thinking about starting karate but don't know where to start

Hello, I have always found karate interesting, I was thinking about trying it. The main thing that was interesting to me about karate is the diversity of its techniques. I would like to learn the type of karate that includes joint locks and throws and such with the kicks and punches. I'm no expert in karate and since there are so many styles I was wondering if somebody could help me find the style that is most like what I described.

I quit trying and now I'm back

So I have been trying for years and had my ups and downs but I quit for a while a few months ago. Tomorrow I'm actually going to try again. I'm almost through highschool and in not doing anything productive, I have done nothing to prepare myself for the real world and it's time for that to change. Of course I always say that, I always have some grand moment where I swear I'm going to change my life but I never do. So what will make this any different, I don't know but I guess all I can do is try to stand back up.
