Sawtooth drain poll for those with 12v battery monitoring

For those of us who have been monitoring our parasitic drain, curious who is still seeing it and who has not. Trying to determine what the common factor might be in the recent sawtooth drain stop on 8/12.

After you vote - please let us know where you are what model, its manufacturer date, and how you answered the poll!

Lexus RZ 12V/DCM software fix — my car received an engineering OTA update

You can see my previous post at the link
https://www.reddit.com/r/LexusRZ/s/SfYaWYa8nU

I wanted to share this update separately because I’ve heard only a few people mention the software update. After my 12V battery died, I pushed the dealer to perform a parasitic-draw test after the car sat overnight. The service manager told me Lexus engineers hadn’t actually seen the problem occurring live before and “geeked out” over finally observing it—he joked that my car is now famous. Ugh. Nice after being without it for over three weeks.

Lexus Engineering subsequently pushed an OTA software update related to the DCM/12V parasitic draw 8/13. He said it isn’t publicly available yet and may be a targeted pre-release update to specific VINs. They also replaced my 12V battery, and the dealer documented the draw dropping from ~80 mA before the update to ~30 mA afterward, which they said is normal. I was at Lexus Santa Monica in California and the service manager was very helpful.

I’ve restored my profile, app and Connected Services and am using everything normally again. Now we’ll see if it actually works—I’ll report back.

The more people that push this with Lexus dealers, the faster it goes public!

Torklift Hitch Practicality Questions

For those of you that have installed the torklift hitch, i have a few questions.

Are you able to put the bumper cover back on to protect the hitch when not in use? If so is there an easy way to fasten/unfasten it when needed?

It appears that the pin hole is behind the bumper, how difficult does that make installing a pin or bot when hitching an accessory or trailer?

I am asking because I trying to decide between the torklift and the OEM hitch which appears to protrude from the bumper.

Remote Start from Key Fob

I saw somewhere that an owner was able to start the car from their key fob by pressing unlock 3 times. Has anyone successfully managed this? I’m not seeing that in the owners manual.

I’ve disconnected the DCM because of the phantom sawtooth drain and was curious if I could still start the car from the key fob to get climate control going before entering.

Charging Overnight Outdoors in Winter

I just got my first EV a month ago and had a level 2 charger installed in our driveway. I live in Wisconsin and was wondering what people do to avoid the charge plug freezing in port when charging overnight. I won’t have to worry about this for another 5 months but I was curious what others do when they charge in freezing temps overnight outdoors.

Crossbars

What product have people used for crossbars on their trailseekers? I don’t want to spend $500 on the Thule bars from the Subaru website. I’m also noticing mounting points on the inside of the rails, is there an official crossbar compatible with those?

Really wishing that it had incorporated crossbars like the old outbacks, but I’ll settle for something that works for under $250.

Squeaks

Have had our trailseeker limited for 3 weeks and have started to hear an annoying squeak/creaking noise coming from the back of the car when driving over bumps. I thought it was something I left in the trunk originally so I took everything out and drove with it empty, but the noise was still there.

After doing some googling and troubleshooting with Gemini, I think the issue maybe the rubber weatherstripping along the rear gate. The rubber squeaks similarly when I run my fingers along it. I rubbed a wet towel along the rubber to add some lubrication to see if it affected the noise. It didn’t get ride of the sound completely, but it did lessen it.

Curious if anyone else has run into similar noises with their new car? Want to see other’s opinions before I buy some silicone lubricant or take it back to the dealer to fix.

Update: it was the hatchback latch. Hit it with some silicone lubricant and it’s all good now. Saved me a trip to the dealer.

Qmerit Credit

Did anyone who recently purchased a trailseeker get a qmerit credit of $400 for either charger install or evgo charging? I read that it is offered when you buy a Solterra, curious if the same is true for trailseeker.
