Thrashin Supply 60L Quick Detach Sport Saddlebags — Honest First Impressions (~600 miles in)
I recently picked up the new Thrashin Supply 60L Quick Detach Sport Saddlebags and noticed there's almost no customer feedback out there yet, so I figured I'd share my thoughts for anyone on the fence.
I've had them installed for about a week and put roughly 600 miles on the bike since.
Pros
Storage space is the headline feature: 40L by default, expanding to 60L when you need it. The bags and mounting hardware feel genuinely premium, and the included rain covers are a nice touch. Aesthetically, they look great on the bike. They're a bit more squared-off and sit slightly higher than traditional similar bags, such as LeatherPros, which I prefer. They're also universal across Dynas, M8 Softails, and FXRs (FXR owners will need additional mount hardware). Most importantly, they're rock solid with zero rattling, which was a constant annoyance with my OEM bags.
Cons
The quick-detach mechanism is a little fiddly to work, though this may partly be my installation and it's a non-issue for me since I plan to leave them on the bike almost permanently. One actual hiccup: the kit includes longer fender strut bolts to accommodate a quick-detach sissy bar, but they were still too short for my setup. I ended up reusing the bolts from my OEM bag and sissy bar install. The leather lid zipper also requires a bit of patience to line up and close, but that's a minor nitpick.
Price
At $799.99 they're not cheap, but they're in line with comparable bags at this price point and feel every bit worth the money based on build quality alone.
Install
Super easy, about 15-30 minutes with basic hand tools. Thrashin has a solid install video that walks you through it.
Overall
Highly recommend if you want a sporty, high-capacity bag and can find them in stock. If you own a set, drop your thoughts in the comments. The more info potential buyers have, the better.
