Question regarding commission in recruiting

I started a new job about a month ago. It’s a base pay plus bonus structure based on how many hires I get each quarter. If I hit the goal, I get the full bonus for the quarter.

Okay pretty simple and common I think. So I sign on and start. Well now theyve said that if someone applies to the roles, they don’t count as a hire for me because I didn’t source them. Okay, this is my first role with this structure. Maybe that’s normal.

BUT THEN they’ve implied that hires that aren’t for a specific position don’t count. That my bonus only counts for hires made for a specific generic position that’s available at all their offices.

This wasn’t mentioned until after I’ve hit about half of the goal in the first month.

I feel like they’re walking it back because they didn’t expect me to be this good going in (I’ve recruited in this industry before so I know what I’m looking for for the most part and how to work the systems well to get candidates I want)

But now I feel like I’m being punished for doing well.

Is this normal? Did I go in with an overinflated expectation? I feel like they’re changing things on purpose but this is wildly different than what I was expecting.

I’m also still assigned and have to recruit for positions that fall out of the realm of what they’re saying my commission is. And it deincentivizes me from utilizing people that have applied when it would be better for me to ignore those and source all my own candidates.

I meet with my manager tomorrow and I’m going to ask for clarification but I just wanted to see if anyone has experienced similar?

30F looking for friends to chat with!

I have a lot of hobbies; gaming, reading, crochet, diamond art, watercolor, etc. I’m a hobby collector so I’m always looking for something new to learn!

Let’s talk about our favorite cryptids and true crime cases and bond over weird lit and fun beverages (currently loving matcha).

Mostly looking for people around my age. I’m also slow to respond sometimes just due to my social battery dying and work obligations.

(I’m married, advances are not welcome!)

I want most overdramatic and cringe recommendations you have

Look. Cringe Romantasy is like trashy tv. You watch it and you want to look away but you just can’t.

So give me the cringe. The dramatics. All of it.

My personal favorite in this category is Zodiac Academy so do with that what you will.

Thanks guys for the tips! I still need to find a more berry color

Buuuuut I took the lipstick cool teddy, blotted a ton and used it on my eyes too! Also added a brown mascara. I feel like it’s more cohesive. I think I’ll invest In some lip toppers too to bring some shine in.

Am I doomed to never find my shade in lipstick?

Y’all I so badly want to be a girlie with a signature Mac shade but I feel like I’m really struggling. Shades that look great swatched on my hand or on the model just don’t feel right to me. I got these two shades: cool teddy and twig twist but I still feel like they don’t suit me.

Is it my application??? Is my skin tone not actually cool?? Am I crazy and this looks fine??

I also feel like colors that look so light on other people look super duper dark on me. I got cool teddy convinced it’d be a more natural shade but I don’t feel like it is!

First picture is twig twist and second is cool teddy.

I also have on
-Maybelline pro glow in shade 201
- she glam blush in shade hot topic
- Elf sheer powder

Left work during my notice for a migraine

I cleared it with the boss and the people covering and usually I would try to tough it out but I barely slept last night and woke up with one. It subsided then slammed back in full force at 10am.

Next Friday is my last day and they don’t pay out sick or vacation time so on paper I shouldn’t feel guilty but I still do. Anyone else been through this? How do you ease the anxiety and guilt?

It’s not much, but it’s more than I’ve put back in years and I’m proud of myself.

Just 3 months of 2x roundups and a weekly $5 deposit. This is money that would have been spent now it’s going into our “have a baby” fund. I can’t wait to see it keep growing!

An early birthday gift to my self: A drafting table!

This thing is going to save my shoulders and upper back! Also help deter my cat a little from licking my canvases.

The typical “my friends just had a baby” post

I’m sure y’all are tired of these by now but I just need a space I can vent a little.

I had to have an abortion in April of last year. It was hard. It was an incredibly hard decision and the emotions afterwards were a lot to deal with. A week later at Easter my husband’s cousins announced their twin pregnancy. A few weeks later his other cousin announced her pregnancy. My coworker’s daughter and daughter in law were both pregnant at the time. Then we went on our annual beach trip with our friends in May where we were told they were going to try for a baby.

I dealt with it, I avoided the baby showers and holding the new babies. November comes around and our friends tell us they’re pregnant. I’m so so happy for them but once again that wound opened up for me. Okay I moved on. I didn’t attend the baby shower but I sent gifts.

They had their baby and I worked up the courage to visit them and holy shit, holding their little girl has just brought everything to the surface yet again a year later. My emotions feel like they’re warring with each other. I’m so happy for them and already love their baby like my own. But I’m also sad and jealous and full of grief. When we left they left us with the wisdom of “don’t wait too long! We don’t want too much of an age gap!” And I’m really proud of myself for just laughing it off.

It’s been a year of hints from friends. From family. I’m exhausted. At my MIL’s birthday lunch I got her a travel bag and my husband’s aunt kept saying it looked like a diaper bag and asked if we had anything to announce. MIL keeps making comments about us having a baby.

I just graduated with my bachelor’s two weeks ago. I’m approaching 30 this summer. We still have debt to pay off, we’re in an apartment, and we can’t afford a daycare. But does anyone fucking care or take a moment to notice those facts? Does anyone see that we so desperately WANT a child but my job doesn’t pay enough and I feel like a failure every time I dream? Because I’m not good enough yet.

I just feel so alone and sad and like I’ll never be good enough.
