Need someone with a fun personality to do a harmless prank call.

No harassment or rude language involved. Quote me your price and just say if you are M or F and describe your voice (eg deep, masculine, neutral American accent) so I can see if you would be a good fit

What are some local jobs that are overlooked and would work for students?

I’m talking pay decently, can have a schedule that works with school, and are maybe less competitive than the typical jobs students apply for.

What’s been the craziest (in a good or bad way) thing thats happened to you while traveling?

The worst for me was getting robbed in Lima. But the guy was on drugs and stumbling and some guys on the street came up and pushed him away and we got our stuff back.

The funniest/nastiest was in Thailand when I went on a tour that took people from hotels where we were staying to an ancient city site like 4 hours away by bus. There were no bathrooms and the bus didn’t stop along the way. I was sitting next to this Eastern European girl in her early twenties and she kinda kept squirming and then at like the third hour she shit herself and then at first tried to act like nothing happened although I immediately realized something was wrong. Then she turned to me to save her so I had to go lie to the bus driver to pretend that I was sick and about to throw up so that she could get off the bus and hide and change.

Swimming pool biz in Florida?

If anyone is in the business, how competitive is it? I have heard you can basically only clean without getting a special license? Is that true? Would you have gotten into a different biz if you were to do it again?

What bad thing happened between you and another traveler you met locally that made you split up and never meet again?

I’ve met other women while traveling and spent time exploring places together. Most of them time when we stopped hanging out it was because when we’d be at restaurants they would expect me to pay (usually like I’d offer to pay the first time but then each time we’d eat at a place they’d seem to expect me to pay and I’d be like wtf).

Another time I met a girl who was doing a short term rental for a month in Brazil (almost like couch surfing except she found a room on Facebook and was actually supposed to like pay for it). But apparently she kept giving the landlady excuses about payment and I happened to meet this girl right at the point when she’d almost lived there a month and on my second day of knowing her asked me if I could pay her rent and that she’d pay me back 😂

Any other girl feel like your friends are more successful and depressed about it?

I (21F) am in college but feel like I’m behind my. They have more difficult or more exciting majors, they have more opportunities in terms of internships. Idk if I’m doing the wrong thing. I am trying to be financially self sufficient but that means working at a restaurant and not doing as well in school.

They’re definitely focusing more on their educations and are doing internships this summer. They’re all away in different cities and I’m here alone except for my roommate who at least works an office admin type job at our college.

My life this summer is so lonely cuz it’s just work. I don’t even have energy to do anything with anyone. I also constantly worrying that my leasing office will find out that I smoke pot every night or that I’ll do the other thing I do a lot and my roommate will think I’m still awake and come in and see me asleep with my vibrator still on next to me 😭

What was the last straw that made you a solo traveler?

For me, mostly the scheduling with flaky friends that would say they want to go but weren’t sure yet and id wait months only for them to say they can’t go.

Other than that I’ve learned people are VERY DIFFERENT travelers. Like, do you plan last minute or plan every single day in advance? Do you want to go to museums all day or are you a restaurant/bar person? Do you want to talk to locals and practice the local language? Meet fellow travelers? Stick to yourself? Do you want to pay for the fastest direct flight or are you going to have four connecting flights to stay cheap? Will you stay in one place or will you pay for tours that will have you bussed to some place hours away where you might have to stay overnight?

Have you had any funny stories?

Do you hate or love hostels?

I’ve probably stayed equally at hostels and at affordable hotels and so far I can’t make up my mind. Here’s what I’ve experienced so far:

Pros

-still cheaper than even affordable hotels. Often might be downtown while an affordable hotel will often be towards the outskirts of a big city

-opportunity to meet new people, get advice, hang out and explore together. I’ve found this happens a fair amount and it’s so much easier than arranging a trip with friends from where I live

Cons

-small theft. I’ve lost chargers and a credit card

-conditions can vary from very nice and clean to falling apart, crumby kitchens, gross leaky bathrooms

-too little respect for others. Often loud music

-awkwardness lol. Like people doing laundry in the bathroom and leaving wet clothes to girls thinking it’s ok to walk around in a thong just because it’s close to bed time. I really don’t want to know if you’re wearing a pantyliner or not

Can my complex be fined for this?

There was a fire like 1.5 years ago and they still haven’t done anything. It was collecting mold until they recently started some basic touch up. Idk if there was a long insurance claims process or what they are thinking.

I am not sure what’s on the wall, I hope it’s not mold thats moved in from that apartment to the breezeway (apartment just had plywood sheet laid over entrance so rain was always able to get in).

Lastly, idk why we have exposed wiring left like this.

What was Gainesville like in past decades?

Maybe describe each decade here and say which one was your favorite and why. Do you like it better now or prefer the way it was? What’s different? What’s worse? What’s better?

Can be anything from restaurants to development to UF, etc.

Anyone who has run a cash only business, what was your experience like? Did you have lots of low ballers and non payers? Did you only have trusted customers or work with anyone? Did you prefer not dealing with any paperwork or worry about not being in compliance? Was your earning ceiling super low because of being cash only?
