What is my pH, really? (Sera VS Tetra)

Hello, i’m having trouble identifying my pH lately. I just got new tests from Sera which are not yet past the expiration date. In the first place i’m struggling to tell if its 7.5 or 8.0 due to the lighting. Its definitely in that range though. But here comes the second challenge: Before buying the Sera test i had a pH test from Tetra, not an all in one kit, just a pH test box. I got this one from my local pet shop which isn’t a very organized/tidy store at times so the products (especially the aquarium ones) can sometimes seem forgotten or unchecked. Including some of the tests having a thin layer of dust, i urgently needed a pH test back then so i went with it. This test has been giving me some scares because i’ve definitely seen it reach 8.5-9 but i made improvements in my tank that should lower that little by little. The test also appeared to go to a lighter blue at some point so i was assuming that progress though last night it seemed darker again than the picture you’re looking at. Now for the expiration date: I couldn’t find one on the kit at all. Thats why my trust relies on the Sera kit i just got but i want to know Reddit’s opinion because the Tetra test shows a solid 8.5 right now while the Sera test is a debatable 7.5 or 8. I can’t imagine an expired test showing difference bigger than 0.5-1.0 and i dont know if an expired test happens to rather show higher results by any change (than lower) but please let me know!

I let this chocolate pudding sit in a mold in the fridge for 12 hours. still sank into liquid poo

EDIT: It wasn’t a liquid pudding, it was supposed to stiffen into a jelly pudding. I can’t change the title unfortunately.

EDIT 2: No, it did not happen to be by the brand “Jell-O”. I’m not American, the brand was Dr. Oetker, the product is called “Kookpudding”, kook being “cook” or “boil” in my native language. Box image showed a jelly shaped chocolate pudding and the instructions said to pour it in a mold and let it sit to stiffen. I can assure that was the point. My family shops lower-in-fat milk which is probably been the issue

EDIT 3: yes the way my hand is holding everything at once looks a little funny, and yes it was cramped and uncomfortable

Does this count as the 🦐?

Look at my fabulous baby. He was very busy grooming himself and i managed to snap this pic of him. Does this count as a full 🦐 pose?

What to do with intruding snails?

Im not sure if im in the right community for this, but it seems like a subreddit like this would know best.

I recently set up a freshwater tank and got nice plants. I rinsed them for quite some time and naively expected snails, if there were any, to be bigger than they ended up being so for some reason assumed the few brown pits i saw falling out were seeds or just dead ends. Either way whatever it was i thought i got it all out but +- 2 days later i spot the same seed on the glass of the tank. Tried to get it out but lost it in the gravel. Honestly from there already 99% there were snails. Picture shows the ones i got out over the past 2-3 days. My tank is only 20L but these snails are so incredibly small they currently arent invasive nor an issue. I see about 2 a day. Currently i have no idea what the average routine for fish keepers is when it comes to managing pest snails. The ones in the jar were thrown in the lake near my house. Definitely not a water change they’d make but at least a snack for the fish there i assumed, since they arent meant for keeping anyway. Still wondering what the best approach is though, my rasbora peck the smaller ones sometimes which is practically useless with a mouth so tiny but im still worried inhalation is succesful one day and causes trouble in the digestive system. Thats honestly all. Please let me know what i can do with them, should i keep removing them the way i already do or should i change anything?

What sex is it?

Im curious because he sticks out and i feel like hes male. Idk why, just a feeling. I failed to sex my bird in the past by assuming hes male until he laid eggs so im curious if i carried my stupid assumptions down to my shrimp too.

I used to hide my face from myself

Awful memory that just popped up that id like to share is how cruel people suddenly were one week about my appearance, that i (at the time 13) would come home and avoid seeing any reflection of myself. Windows, mirrors, cameras. I acted like the world would end if i saw myself. This went on for i dont remember how long, but at least a month. At one point i made a paper rabbit mask (i would craft with paper to calm myself down) and i wouldnt look at myself unless i had it on. I dont know what finally made me stop, but it still seems so odd to me how other kids drifted me to doing that

What method do i use for preparing driftwood?

I have order a quite small piece of driftwood to help reduce some pH in my fish tank, which also isnt that big (5.2Gal / 20L) and before it gets delivered im wondering what the best method is for preparation. based on the fact that: the piece is small, my goal is to lower pH and i dont mind tea colored water though i slightly prefer having that effect as mild as possible.

I cant figure out if the best method for these demands is boiling, boiling and soaking or just soaking. Please let me know!
