My current bike is a Specialised Cross Trail. It needs a lot of love and I don't wish to try a conversion kit.
(I also drive but want to use it less and may even hand my car back).
I'm looking for an ebike with similar capabilties - eg: option to go off paved roads. I'll need to take out finance but I'm looking to keep the overall cost in the region of £2000 at most.
I've looked online at Giant store. Their sizing - I don't know if thats simply store specific or universally appliable - suggests an XL size as i'm 6ft 1.
I don't kmow much about ebikes. I suppose so long as I can ride 6-8miles each way without becomming a sweaty mess or having lower back ache is most important.
Any recommendatioms woild be very much aporecited. I feel overhwelmed with the options.

Hi all. I''m esrly fortiess and I've known I very likely have king–Kopetzky syndrome. It never used to bother me so much because I wasn't very social, but now I'm finding its severely impacting my dating, social life, and professional life. I'm having to tell people in advance I struggle to distiguish speech in a loud setting, and I'm not able to take part at all in group conversations and even struggle to understand my partner at times. They are very understanding but its become an issue I need to deal with.
Visiting and heard someone shout really loud and aggressive racial abuse from the direction of Fir Tree Drive North. Looked out but couldnt see anyone. Concerned it might have been someone shouting from a car/bike at someone walking around the estate. If this happened to you get in touch and I can confirm I heard it if its something you want to report and need evidence for the police. It happened at 21:18 or there about.

Hi all. Ive had a couple of Spypoint LTEs stolen so I'm going down to cheaper trail cameras that I won't mind too much if they dissapear. But at the time time I don't want to get ripped off with crap. This is for wildlife watching in a local woodland. I dont necessarily need cellular capable devices. Any recommendations?

You don't need to be in the right hand lane unless you are overtaking or turning. And you certaintly shouldnt be in the right hand lane when driving 10mph below the speed limit and when you car has the acceleration of a tortiose. If you see people undertaking you - which strictly speaking, they shouldnt unless you are slwong to turn right and indicating as such - its because you're in the wrong lane. Every single multilane road in Liverpool has middle and right lane hoggers. Its dangerous!

Rule 160: keep to the left, unless road signs or markings indicate otherwise. The exceptions are when you want to overtake, turn right or pass parked vehicles or pedestrians in the road.
Obviously im not talking about left hand only turn lanes. Nor when traffic is busy and its reasonable to use all lanes - when its expected the middle or right lanes will have faster flowing traffic.
I fear im going to overstear, altbough I never have. Its usually on motorways when it happens, especially if I find myself in an overtaking lane and especially when im overtaking another vehicle. I get anxious and start to reduce speed and find myself gripping hard onto the wheel. Ive found myself driving next to large vehicles driving at their speed when I should be overtaking. Its at the point im now planning the road ahead to ensure im always in the left hand lane on left turning bends. I don't get it. Right hand bends are fine. Its only left hand bends.

Ive updated my claim to show im working and put notes in my journal but they are still setting me up for claim review telephone appointments, which I cannot attend because Im working. My payments schedule says im due to be paid £400 on 26th. Is this right, as I would have only expdcted to be paid for the period 26th April to 11th May
I live in North Liverpool and have heard on and off fireworks in the distance since around 6pm. Sounds like displays and not random single fireorks going off. 2026 has been good so far for lack of fireworks (2024 and 2025 were bloody awful) so I'm hoping this is just one evening thing and not evident of things to come.
