They really taste like wotsits!!!
I went to Asda today and got these and I cannot believe it, they actually taste like wotsits. I'd seen people say these are a good alternative but I didn't think they would be this good!!!

Hello,
I know this has been asked before but the last post I saw had quite a few places that had now closed.
Is anyone able to recommend any vegan hotels or getaways in the UK please? Ideally somewhere that caters vegan or even a B&B if there are decent vegan options around to go out to eat.
Thank you.
This was advertised as "for lighter appetites" but I was expecting a bit more tbh. This to me is a starter rather than a light meal
Chris Packham has just posted a petition on the UK Parliament petition site, asking the Government to give a national briefing by experts on the threats to the UK from climate and nature breakdown - including to our national security - and on what we can do about it.
If the petition gets 10,000 signatures, the Government will respond to it, and with 100,000 signatures, it will be considered for debate in Parliament.
It just went up a few hours ago and it's already off like a rocket. It's part of a well-backed major initiative called the National Emergency Briefing to get the Government to do a prime-time televised briefing, deliver a response with the necessary scale and speed, and show international leadership.
Please sign the petition and share it as widely as you can. Never mind 100k, let's go for a million signatures and make it impossible not to debate this in Parliament.
Hi all, I wanted to get some views on this.
My son is in Reception. Last term, the children baked some Easter cookies in class. It didn’t occur to me that the dough contained dairy and eggs until he brought home his - which was clearly a special vegan one that the school provides. The pictures of the activity showed him participating in the non-vegan baking (rolling the dough and such).
This didn’t sit right with me. Weeks later, it still doesn’t. Veganism isn’t just about eating; it’s also about handling animal products. I’m sure the school wouldn’t ask a Muslim child to cook dead pigs, for example.
If this were your child, would this make you uncomfortable?
Thanks for your thoughts.
Edit: rephrased question for clarity.
After a year of being able to consistently find the cheapest tofu around and actually get the amount of protein I'm looking for into more meals without breaking the bank, every single Aldi and Lidl I've been to has seemingly decided to stop selling it. At first I though it was a temporary sell-out as my local shops were frequently running out, the stuff sold well. But now it's all tempeh pieces, more expensive-for-less Tibah tempeh blocks and fake meats aplenty, but the best value for money tofu? Not a peep for a few months now. Even the Cauldron stuff has vanished, and a search for tofu on the lidl site produced nothing. It's still showing on the Aldi website but I've now been to multiple shops several times and there's not even a label on the shelf. I'm ready to cry, I lived on that stuff.
Hey guys, summer's coming and I need some new trainers. So many shoes have suede or leather components, it's hard to find ones that aren't. Are there any vegan or "accidentally vegan" trainers you guys love?
My child (15) school class has a pet, a giant land snail. It was apparently 'donated' by a teaching assistant who had grown bored of it. I'm led to understand it is not being cleaned out often, if at all. My child says the tank really stinks and has lots excrement in it. Staff have said it will be cleaned after half term (which is two weeks).
My child's concerns are being dismissed. (It's clear the teacher has issues with my vegan child) I feel no one cares because it's just a snail. I personally hate the slimey crop munching ba***rds, but it's a living creature, and should be cared for appropriately. If a 'cute' animal was kept like this, I'm sure it would be different.
What should I do?
Edit: I have emailed the head teacher. School closes on Friday so if i dont hear back tomorrow, i will phone the school. The school is a specialist SEN school so the children are less able to commit to any sort of animal care schedule. I know nothing of snail care but feel perhaps I need to learn now
I’ve been vegan for 19 years now. I was your clichéd noob vegan back in the day - checking all the ingredients, being a bit evangelical about it after a couple of (vegan) pints. But after all this time, and having two kids and becoming a part-time single parent, I’m kind of going through the motions a bit. I know the thing to do would be to watch films about animal cruelty again, but I still feel a bit disconnected from the idealistic person I was in 2007 and I wondered how those who are in it for life and have sustained their veganism since the dark days of Bute Island being the only available cheese keep themselves engaged?
No photo because I devoured them on a buttered muffin with a bit of cheese and scrambled tofu.
I love the Starbucks sandwich but the price is getting stupid.
This is genuinely the best vegan chocolate I've had in the last 14 years of being vegan. UK Based and a B Corp too!

I dont know who needs to know this but I know lots of vegans who have been wanting to try, I am so excited I've got a shop coming tomorrow and I'm gonna try it with mango first!!!
Please stop putting milk powder in every single food. I wouldn't be surprised if I get a bag of baby carrots and they have milk powder as an ingredient. There's just no need. Why is milk powder in microwavable tomato pasta 😭
