Keeping a gun by your front door?

Is anybody else keeping a loaded gun by your front door of your house in case I.C.E. agents come to the wrong house? My wife is a legal immigrant who is now a citizen who has lived here for over 25 years. After seeing all these videos of I.C.E. agents breaking down people's doors, shooting them and there being no repercussions, even if it's the wrong house, I am starting to keep my .40 within arms reach of the entrance to my house. Is anybody else doing the same or am I just paranoid?

Are marketing firms aware that when people are reading articles online or on their phone and an annoying pop-up disturbs what they are reading, the last thing we are ever going to do is purchase their products. In fact, I make a mental note to never do business with that company.

When marketing firms take out these pop up ads, do they really think that it is helping the companies that hire them? I think it actually hurts the company. What do you guys think?

Why is there always so much crime around federal buildings in big cities?

I grew up in San Francisco and as long as I can remember there has always been a lot of drug use in the open during the day and a lot of prostitution at night. It also seems that way in Oakland also, why is that? FYI,I'm 46 years old now

Why are Republicans okay with old men having sexual relationships with children but are against men that dress like women that don't hurt anyone?

Why when you talk down to and talk bad about Republicans, do they assume you are a Democrat or liberal. Don't they understand the whole world looks down on them?

If you had $10,000 to invest would you put it in one stock or would it be better to break it up and invest in multiple stocks?

I have realized in my limited swing/long-term investing that you will not make that much investing in stocks that are selling for more than $20-$30 a share, unless you have boat loads of money invested. Barely any stocks go over 10x. But if you invest in companies under $10 you can do a lot better.

What is a better investment than CDs at banks for short term

I know this is not the right place to get solid financial advice, but I would like to read other people's perspectives. At the beginning of the year I took out a second mortgage to repair and upgrade things around the house. I took out 200k in equity I put $50k in a checking account to pay for bills, deposits, materials, and make to investments. I put $150k into a 3-5 month CD at a rate of 2.93%. The 3 months have just come to an end and I was hoping to get at least $5,000 on $150k. To my surprise, I only got $1,083. That is only around 0.66% nowhere near 2.93%. If I invested $150k into an index fund like SPY or the NASDAQ. I would have definitely made more than 0.66% over 3 months. What or where should I put the $150k into to get a better return that is very conservative

From the one debate I have watched and the many political ads I have seen, I have never heard Chad Bianco speak against adults that have intimate relationships with young teenagers. To be fair, I have never heard him say anything about it. But if a high ranking man of the law says nothing about his Republican colleagues and the leader of the Republican party having multiple accusations against them brought up in court, doesn't that make him part of the problem?
