The American citizens are the only hope in stopping that rise of fascism

I genuinely believe ordinary Americans could be the world's greatest hope against rising fascism. But they must start with a revolution against their own increasingly authoritarian and belligerent government.

Corporate America, financial institutions, billionaires, and the ruling elites will not save us. They will continue exploiting people and weaker nations, supporting far-right governments wherever it serves their interests. Their greed, exploitation, and willingness to embrace authoritarianism are fundamentally evil.

Look at Brazil's ongoing elections. Even American lawmakers have accused Trump's administration of attempting to interfere with our democracy through sanctions and economic pressure.

Americans must confront Trump, challenge the power of the ultra-rich, defend international law, and ultimately demand a genuine revolutionThe world doesn't need America to save it. It needs Americans to save their own asses.

And I mean areal revolutionn. One that dismantles concentrated power instead of simply handing it to another group of billionaires. Start with redistributing wealth and land. No more obscene fortunes accumulated in the hands of a few while millions struggle to survive.

Because if Americans cannot break the grip of their ruling elites, the entire world will suffer the consequences. Especially here in Latin America, where American interference has shaped our history for generations.

These elites won't hesitate to turn against even their closest allies if there's enough money or power to be gained.

Please, America. For your own sake and ours, make a revolution.

For expanding cultural reach, what languages may be a differential?

I know this has probably been posted with different particularitirs but I really want to discuss from an literary and artistic point of view.

I am Portuguese native speaker and am fluent in English with rudimentary notions of French (not conversational, can understand some readings at most)

I have decided to pursue improve in French but I really would like some language with a complete different structure. As arabic, mandarin, Cantonese, hidi, Japanese etc. Basically a non European/Latin language.

I ask this not with a professional intent in my mind. I want to learn for the challenge and the intellectual gain.

I realized I have a huge problem.

I've been playing videogames since I was 6 or 7 years old. Got an N64 and since that, any free time i would go directly to a screen. A PC, a console whatever. But i was so happy finding out new games. Thinking of those great experiences, puzzles, fights.

In school and college gaming always was my priority I can see now that I crave it as a drug. In fact, while experimenting with drugs the similarities were obvious.

I played at a shitty computer when I was broke. Now I am 33, an ok career as an GP doctor and I still spent every single second i have of free time gaming

My wife , that i love very much, is traveling this past days and I absolutely indulged in gaming. 10-12 hours a day.

I was playing a dumb new action game and i just thought " What the f am I doing" Im stressed, haven't eating properly in days, getting int energy drinks. And for what? A new dragon? A new vampire upgrade?

What the hell happened with me. I should be planning trips, being in nature, challenging myself. This is not a life. I cant stop the screen compulsion and is hurting me so much.

I dont know that to do. Im already so deep in this. I cant feel any connection with the real world. It feels like im so numb.

I will stop this. Cold turkey. Is making me miserable and a robot.

Epic masterpieces

I’m in the mood for something huge.

Not just “big budget” huge. I mean movies that actually feel epic. Adventure, scale, beautiful landscapes, great characters, some kind of meaning behind it all.

Could be historical, fantasy, western, war, whatever. Old movies are completely fine, actually probably preferred.

Stuff where by the end you feel like you really went somewhere.

Lawrence of Arabia is probably the closest example of what I mean. Beautiful, massive, adventurous, but also actually about something.

Suggest me a book for escapism, feeling of wonder and purpose

Desperately in need for escapism.

Im in need of escapism. I do want a book that will make me lost notion of time and mundane problems.

I am a Tolkien fanboy , finding hard especially in fantasy to find something so satisfying. And I miss the wonder, adventure, motivations and an plot that is not so grim fantasy with machiavelic lords always trying to make his elaborated evil plan suceed.

I loved Ursula le Guin books.

Sanderson still not my cup of tea. Tried mistborn and although it was a fun read, it lacked that "je ne sais quoi" it didnt made me emotionally invested.

Name of the wind on the other hand i found magnificent. Im in peace with the fact we won't have the third book.

Dune, although not fantasy, it was one great transformative experience. I felt Arrakis, I felt the desert, the war and the psychedelic atmosphere.

I think im searching for something really immersive but not so cynical, depressing etc.

The quality of the prose is also really important

Suggest me fantasy masterpiece.

Looking for high fantasy that feels like a genuine masterpiece — something in the same league as LOTR

I’m looking for a high fantasy book or series that has that rare combination of beautiful writing, a rich world, adventure, wonder, and an ultimately feel-good or uplifting atmosphere.

The obvious benchmark for me is The Lord of the Rings. I’m not necessarily looking for something that copies Tolkien, but I want that same feeling of reading something timeless, literary, immersive, and genuinely magical — a book where the world feels ancient and alive and the journey actually means something.

I’m fine with darkness, tragedy, war, etc., as long as the overall experience isn’t relentlessly bleak or cynical. I’d love something with friendship, beautiful landscapes, exploration, memorable characters, and that sense of wonder that makes you want to live in the world for a while.

Most importantly, I’m looking for excellent prose and genuinely great literature, not just a fun fantasy series.

What would you consider a high-fantasy masterpiece that belongs in the same conversation as LOTR?

Whats your favorite underused character?

Curious of who you think kishimoto let the ball drop hard and had much more potential? Mine is definitely Shino

AITA for venting with a friend about my relationship?

My (33M) Gf (27f) has read at a private conversation with a friend two days ago. In that particular conversation I talked about breaking up, about not feeling connected, about sometimes feeling sex as an obligation.

About her full dedication to her voluntary job even if it's terrible for her health (I also work, but i learned some time ago my limits, and can be financially stable without working too much time.

That been said, I was actually talking to my best friend and venting about hard things of being an adult.

She knows my password and we dont hide anything because I honestly thought that I have nothing to hide and I didn't even considered that she would read a private conversation with a friend. Im the same conversation my friend was talking about his ED for instance, private matters in private conversation. It was actually really disrespectful to him as well.

Now she says that I really dont want a marriage, that if im feeling suffocated and at the same time miss her maybe I dont want a marriage but someone to share only the good times.

Am I the asshole for talking about my relationship to a close friend without expecting judgment? Have I done anything wrong? Because im feeling like im.being manipulated. Its not like we dont talk about this topics. Is just that obviously I approach her in a very different manner than with my friends. And most of what I said I honestly didn't mean it. Was just pissed at that moment.

Quitting one substance at a time.

I have been in a process of quitting substances one at a time and I find it so far more manageable than cold turkey everything.

I stopped smoking cigarettes one month ago. First week sucked. Actually, first two weeks. Than I used the momentum to quit weed, kind of dont want to inhale smoke ever again. Now im cutting caffeine.

Its happening to fast but I really more mental clarity and energy level rising.

The next step will be the real problem. The benzo addiction is by far my worst problem with over 2mg of clonazepam a day. This one scares me. If I dont take the medicationd at the right time I get teeth pain, muscle pain, chest pain, paranoid thoughts.

I honestly think that getting free of the "easier" substances first may be good, especially since benzos you have to taper down.

I just want to feel as myself again, after 10 years of drugs and substances.

I think that I can do it but im really afraid of benzo
