Time to get into Humankind?

Apologies if you're sick and tired of these kinds of posts :(.

Anyways, I was wondering if it's time to get in, now that it seems that this is the final iteration of Humankind?

Things to note: I love civ switching, and it's part of the reason I got Civ 7 on its first sale (partly also the fact that Civ has always seemed "safer" as a bet). No worries about that.

I do worry that there might still be a lot of unfixed bugs.

Avatars sound interesting, but I heard you can't play against a cast of avatars you design on your own, which was a bit of a turnoff for me.

I like playing SimCity style games where I focus on beautifying and polishing a few select cities with wonders, can I do that in HK?

Dormant Personality Overlay adjustments

Hey all!

I'm planning to start a StarCraft campaign featuring a group of Resocialized Marines, and naturally EotI's Dormant Personality Overlay is almost tailor-made for such PCs.

This is the version I have in my own version of the Talent Tome

Dormant Personality Overlay Tier: 4 | Activation: Active (Incidental) | Ranked: No Tag: EotI When your character purchases this talent, select three skills that your character has one or no ranks in. Once per session, you may spend a Story Point to have your character use this talent. Until the end of the current encounter, they count as having four ranks in each of the selected skills and one fewer rank in all other skills. They also suffer 1 strain at the beginning of each of their turns. If they are incapacitated, the effects of this talent end. At your discretion, your character may also undergo some narrative personality shifts, such as not recognizing friends and family, behaving coldly and logically instead of in a friendly and relaxed manner, or constantly muttering a coded phrase under their breath. Source: EotI

However, given that I'd like the pasts of the Marines to be a major part of the setting, the "Once per Session" limit seems like too much of a limitation.

Thus, I'd like to revise it for this campaign to:

Once per encounter, you may spend two Story Points to have your character use this talent. Until the end of the current encounter, they count as having four ranks in each of the selected skills and one fewer rank in all other skills. The GM receives a temporary Story Point to be used before the end of the session.

Thoughts? Rebalancing advice? If there are other ways to balance it while keeping it reusable, I'd be glad to hear them.

Most durable Habs T-shirt brand?

Hey everyone.

I got two Habs t-shirts as gifts last year - one from Fanatics, the other from Canadian tire. But the print wore of pretty quickly and what remains is a washed out and cracked emblem. I'm planning to ask that my next gift come from a different brand next time: which one should I suggest?

How badly were Celebrations nerfed? How far is Happiness worse?

I've been away from Civ for the past few months, since the second week post ToT. I saw that Celebrations were nerfed and their effects got changed. But I also saw that there are now sometimes rewards for having Happy settlements?

People who've played - what's your take on the net outcome?

What exactly can specialized purview motifs be used for?

Can they be used for *any* marvel?

Take the sourcebook's Mjolnir example. Suppose I have Passion (Sloth) as a purview, with the Motif "The greatest effect from the smallest effort."

Can I then use Mjolnir to create a light breeze to help a tired guard fall asleep before I sneak into a building?

Or is the motif supposed to be used differently?

What is the intended advantage of this additional motif exactly?

What do you think about further purely cosmetic unit changes, like Halb to Poruchik, without changing unit abilities or costs?

I know Russian units are cheaper, but that was true before they were changed cosmetically.

For what it's worth, I personally think Mousquetaires de Roi, properly outfitted Tercios, or Redcoats would be cool - if it didn't distract the team from working on making future civs more unique (or at all).

What about you?
