UPS mis-delivered and FromJapan slow to help

Long story short. Paid for DPP UPS. Everything cleared customs. In fact, the process and shipping was so efficient, it took less than 2 days get to the US.

Now the fun part. UPS says someone by a certain name signed for the package. No such person at my office.

Asked to put a trace on the package. UPS says the sender has to do it. FYI, domestic UPS packages allow recipients to file for a trace online. There is actually an option. This option is missing for this international package.

Emailed FJ about this and they said I have to do it. So back to UPS. UPS said sender can file a claim.

FJ says ah..not our problem.

This is the kind of thing I really loathe when dealing with international shipping. Prior has used ECMS with FJ, no problems whatsoever.

So now what?

FromJapan HTS Breakdown with Incorrect Tariff/Ad Valorem?

All,

Requested a breakdown of some items to be shipped to the US.

FJ came back with this 8708.29.51.60

Base rate of 2.5% and a Ad Valorem of 25%?

I did a search on the official HTS site and found the parent 8708.29.51 to be 2.5%, which is correct but a section 232 Ad Valorem of 12.5%. Total 15%.

Anyone has similar experiences? thanks.

Pending refund back to part replacement possible?

Hey all, sorry if this has been covered before.

So I the carrier RockAuto used lost my package. Went to RA online portal, filed a trace etc.

RA is offering to send out a part replacement, I went with refund instead. It's pending now.

Can I still go back to having them send out a part replacement? Or have I past that point?

Thanks all.

Incorrectly sorted, corrected and now delivered to a wrong address?

All, can't be more frustrating than this.

Have a package originally scheduled for a 07/29 delivery. Then on the morning of that day, received a "We've incorrectly sorted this package which may cause a delay." It was in a different state.

UPS corrected that and provided a new delivery date of 08/03.

On 08/03, tracking shows a delivery at 10:55am in the correct state and city. Signed by a name whom unfortunately I did not recognize.

I was home around that time. No knock at door. Checked camera, no one left anything at the door. Camera didn't show UPS nearby.

Confirmed delivery address with UPS CS 3 times.

My question is when they corrected the sort, did they reprint a different label/address? Or they just use the existing label and address?

So bizarre.

Package signed by USPS employee and now missing?

All,

I have a PO box with street addressing. And I have had UPS/Fedex delivered packages to me through PO box without a hitch. This recent experience has been bizarre.

The package as per sender is about 20" by 20" x 12". Not exactly small. It was delivered by UPS and signed at the dock by a USPS employee (name verified by the station manager).

I went to retrieve the package day after it was delivered and was told they are still sorting the packages. Went back 2 days later and now they said they can't find it. The manager even asked the person who signed for it. But of course, he signed a lot of packages, how could he possibly remember mine right? Even at that size.

And the interesting thing is as I stood in the line, the customer in front of me is experiencing a similar situation, i.e. delivered package and can't be found.

What's going on?

PNO + Reg 172 + Parking Citation

Hey all,

Was moving my PNO car under a Reg 172 from one storage to the next.

Upon arrival at my destination, I had an issue getting into the building (location had a black out and access key didn't work). So I had to temp park the PNO car outside the building and go talk to the storage manager. Came back and found a citation stuck to my car for expired meter. I did pay the meter for 15mins prior, didn't think it would take longer to sort out the issue.

Will this affect my PNO status and will DMV insist that I register the car for the year?

Thanks all.
