Favourite zucchini recipes?

I started gardening this year and sowed two zucchini seeds just to see what would happen. And now my fridge is filled with about 15 zucchini and I have another 4 currently growing with no signs of stopping yet. I don’t know why I did this because I can hardly think of making one thing with zucchini. I hardly ever eat it though I do like it.

So I’m hoping to hear all of your favourite ways to use zucchini in your cooking! Thanks in advance!

What is it?

Noticed this hiding in my vegetable garden bed. Confused because I have a zucchini plant but it looks nothing like this and I planted no other gourds whatsoever. I have not a clue what that is and guessing it came through my compost

How to harvest seed pods?

I’m not sure what best practice is? I read that I should wait until the pods start to split open themselves which should only be in a month or so? Any advice? I’m in Montreal, Canada Zone 5B if that makes a difference.

What kind of ground cherry is this?

Suburbs of Montreal, Canada zone 5B. It was hiding behind a ton of wood sorrel and my dahlias. I know it’s ground cherry but have no idea what type?

My first ever sunflower bloom

I probably sowed 30+ sunflower seeds and had about 15 growing before my area got 150mm of rain in 1.5 hours and the downpour demolished them. I have 6 survivors, who went through a lot, but I am so excited to finally see my first one blooming. This is my first summer growing sunflowers or anything at all really.

When my Virginia creeper turns out to also be riverbank grape

Moved in less than a year ago. Absolutely adore the Virginia creeper growing from my side garden bed along the top of my garage. Yesterday my fiancé looks up then says to me, oh my gosh it’s growing berries. I said berries?! Then realized it’s absolutely grape lol. It’s intertwined with the Virginia creeper🤣 the crown of the grapevine is so large I’m guessing the landscaping of my house was literally built around it and the root system is enormous because I have grape vine shoots all over my property. My suburb used to be farmland and forest 50 years ago.

Volunteer mulberry

It’s in my front yard garden bed way too close to my house. I’d really like to transplant it to my backyard but don’t know the best practice for this. Should I let it grow a little more here or best to pull it out asap and move it? Any other general tips?

Japanese beetles😡

Caught these MFers red handed. I’ve been manually flicking them off but I can’t stand here all day. I have neem oil but can anyone please advise me on best application practice?

If I’m understanding right, I spray like one spray on the flower petals in the AM then rinse off the oil? What do you guys do?

Realistically how close am I to seeing my first bloom?!

I’m in Montreal, Canada zone 5B. We just had a reallyyyyyyy terrible storm last Saturday that took out so much out of my garden but dahlias are mostly ok. my fastest growing dahlia is doing really well and giving me life. I noticed the first flower bus maybe 6 days ago and since then another 3 have come up!! I thought I would only see my first bloom end of July so I hope it’s sooner🙏🏻 The oldest is the one facing down

Not sure this is even a mushroom

Noticed these 2 days post receiving 150mm of rain in less than an hour. Never seen anything like it before. Montreal, Canada

Will they be okay?

These sunflowers are around 2 and a half feet tall. A crazy rain/hail storm shredded their leaves to pieces. Snapped one in half. These buds appeared after the storm so I’m thinking they’re from stress :(

I know the leaves won’t regrow themselves, should I remove the damaged leaves or leave them be? Do I give up? :(
