How is functional polymathy different from polymathy as per this sub?

Why?

Using pareto principle, 80% mastery or medium level mastery in multiple fields is enough to connect the dots to generate the insights. I would say this is functional polymath.

Just want to know, in this AI age of such vast information overload, is true polymathy even worth it?

Still, i respect true polymaths like da vinci,, von neumann etc

if you are intj 1w9, what role did you select in tech, if you have a computer science background?

Coding - chaotic, managing tech debt is horrible

devops / sys admin - firefighting

testing - repetitive, against cognitive strengths

All the above lead to burnout.

what else is left? may be project mgmt etc is good.

it appears a field related to systems engineering seems to be a good fit.

Also, capacity planning / project mgmt roles seems exceptional fit.

what do you say?

Do sdets at Qcom hyderabad write object oriented code or just python scripiting.

This is for a senior qa role i rejected last year as it was a poor fit for me as i like devops , qcom has in house tools which i dont like, even senior qa role felt repetitive in earlier jobs, object oriented code was comoletely against my cognitive strengths which is less deterministic and more suitable for systems engineering.

Interview prep for devops

JD says devops, python and linux developer.

I just want focus on scripting and ignore oops (object oriented code).

Is that possible?

Does this heavily depends on project requirements and company?

How did you clear devops interview?

Any suggestions?

My focus area is systems engineering.

Found SDE and SDET roles are unfit for me.

Compensation : Found that market for devops role in india are around 20-30 lpa.

What is customer success engineering?

Is this a viable career path for someone who doesnt like coding much and wants to build a career in solution consulting?

Context: I have experience in deployment. automation, devops etc

Dont like coding, hate object oriented code.

Want to focus on career path which little coding and more on product, definitely not a product manager which is ambigous.

Which is why i was checking this out like solutions/sales/customer engineering kind of profile than a typical technical expert which will make me burnout.

How much coding is needed for devops?

Python / Bash scripting is enough right?

No need to focus on objected oriented code like a software dev ?

Intj male, what was your experience with entp female?

For me, it was excellent. It was easy to talk, it was much more efficient to do any sort of work or any activity.

Only condition, said entp female is mature enough :)

Anyone hate object oriented code?

Dont like oops.

How do you guys manage it?

Like only functional and procedural prograing :)

My hate is towards the jungle-gorilla-banana problem whereas functional programming seems clear, brezzy and maintain codebase rather easily.

As a true gifted individual, when did you realise you are gifted, what was it?

For me, it took all my 20s to figure out that i am a good at long term thinking and strategy which most people need a lot of effort to do it. Heck most people need immediate gratification.

I simply see future, eliminate obstacles and go forward, paired with perfection was the problem, now focused on efficiency.

Now i focus on here and now.

Cut off toxic and low conscious people ruthlessly.

I am a good fit for leadership and consulting roles.

What was yours and how much did it take you?

Also how did you solve human problem like navigating humans ?

I used a bit of maths and strategy, to work my way through people based on force and power.

I would focus on maintaining good health and enough money.

Wha did you feel you uniquely achieved to solve your lifes biggest problem?

I derived some maths to understand human psyche and try to ignore low conscious people irresoectuve of their wealth, status etc.

Now at peace with my nervous system.

Demanding work hours. How do you guys manage?

During release cycles, deadlines, doing validation work might be quite demanding.
How do you guys manage the repetitive work?
Debugging, especially managing code bases of OOPS which has banana-gorilla-jungle problem.

It would be tedious isn't it, leading to rapid burnout?

As a gifted individual, what was the biggest hurdle in your life, that you could not solve using your intelligence?

For me, it was my inability to understand narcissism, there was no logic as to how to tackle this disorder until went complete no contact to protect my nervous system and recovery.

What is not intj?

When and how did you discover your introverted intuition?

How useful was it and how not, altering your life decision?

What according to you, a defining feature of intj, based on your knowledge says, this is not intj?

How did it confirmed that you are an intj? Like a person who takes info using intuition and organises info using organisational skills.
