Hi, I find this subreddit really useful. But I’ve realized that a lot of times it is really hard to give a person advice on their itinerary. This is mainly because there is no standard form, I think this could be easily solvable with a small, quick questionnaire. For example answers like these:
Starting where?
When?
How long?
Budget?

What does everyone and the mods think about that?

I’ve had so many cases where basic information was not provided. I will not recommend the same travels to a US American in Chicago or to an Indian in Mumbai. Is there a way to structure this subreddit a little bit better? Thank you!

ich war in den letzten fünf Monaten in zehn verschiedenen Ländern. Habe überall nach guten Beautyprodukten geguckt, oft sind auch meine Sachen einfach leer gegangen und ich musste etwas neu kaufen. Wirklich jedes einzelne Mal habe ich gemerkt: Deutschland hat so gute Pflegeprodukte in Drogerien und die sind so günstig!

In den meisten anderen Ländern ist alles viel viel teurer. Verrückt finde ich auch, dass in Ländern, in denen es sehr warm ist und die Sonne die ganze Zeit scheint, Sonnenschutz extrem teuer ist im Vergleich zum Einkommen. In Deutschland ist es wirklich sehr günstig.

I just finished the Portuguese coastal caminho as a 35 year old woman and lord every single day there was some man dumping his midlife crisis onto me and trying to hit on me. Im talking about men who also walked the caminho themselves.

I’m in a relationship but even if I wasn’t they came across as so desperate. I felt charmed though sometimes cause I looked like shit the whole time lmao. Still it also made me feel uncomfortable at times cause can a girl get some rest from being sexualized.

Hey Leute, wie der Titel schon sagt, würde ich sehr gerne eine getönte Tagescreme benutzen. Ich besitze Make-up von Mac. Das deckt aber total stark und ist für mich zu hart für den Alltag vom Tragegefühl her. Gibt es eine Go To marke, die ihr empfehlen könnt? Ich habe sehr helle Haut. Mir ist es wichtig, dass die Creme eine leichte Tönung hat, gerne auch Lichtschutzfaktor und vor allem nicht zu schwer auf der Haut liegen. Sie soll auch nicht zu teuer sein, lieber Drogerie als sowas wie Mac. Habt ihr Empfehlungen? Vielen Dank!

Haha I knowwwww! I’m gonna walk 5 days on the Portuguese Camino, starting in Porto on a Monday. I only have a 22l backpack. Very very much looking forward and I am getting into hiking.
I planned to bring the following clothes:
2 hiking sets, 1 of them I wear
1 set sleep clothes (which I can also hike in if needed)
1 Bikini
1 thin dress for the evening + flipflops - or is it that unnecessary? I plan to hike but also chill by the beach and swim a bit when possible.

As of skin care, only one serum for the evening and SPF during the day. Any other Tipps for a first timer?

Hiya, I’ll get a 50€ make over at Mac in Germany which means 50€ products I can buy. Yeyy!
I’ve done it 10 years ago already and loved the results. But I’m not really a super make up person and would like to invest in good products.

I do own quite a range of red lipsticks and am familiar with the mac product range in that regards. I buy a lot in the drugstore to save money and because I only put on make up once or twice a week and for special events, but I’d love to invest in products or accessories like pencils or so that are worth their money instead of, say, a kohl kajal (I have a great one by Mac that has lasted since forever) or mascara (tried Mac, liked cheaper brands better).

What are your go to recs? Where does MAC beat every other competitor?

sou alemã e vou viajar para Portugal em setembro. Primeiro, vou passar uma semana a fazer surf na Ericeira. Depois disso, estou totalmente aberta a ir para onde for. Não vou ter carro e gostaria de estar em contacto com a natureza, vou viajar de transportes públicos.

Como mulher que viaja sozinha e como pessoa queer, ficaria muito grata por receber dicas sobre alojamentos de pessoas LGBT+ para pessoas LGBT+. Já passei da fase das festas e procuro relaxamento e tranquilidade. Eu falo Português, caso isso facilite as coisas.

Aqui no meu país existem alguns alojamentos comunitários conhecidos entre pessoas feministas, onde se pode ficar bem e a preços acessíveis e com um vibe bom.

Será que tem algo parecido em PT? Alguém conhece algo semelhante ou pode recomendar-me algum lugar? Muitíssimo obrigada!

Longer version:

I'm a full-time creative freelancer for 15 years, so luckily, I got plenty of experience useful for DJing: How to negotiate money and conditions, only taking gigs that fulfill at least one of the big three (passion, clout or money - almost no gig fulfills all three) and how to protect my own time and sanity from people demanding too much or not giving a shit about the arts.

I know my taste and how to stick to it, even though I'm still working on being able to fully transfer it technically into my sets. I also know that AI cannot reply the soul and love I put into my work and that I don't want to go viral with my sets because I prefer to actually work on getting better at playing music.

Since I started DJing last year, I've played around 10 public gigs, including weddings and birthdays, some of them paid, some of them I gave away for free as gifts. Luckily, I have a very big network and live in a very open minded city where lots of people truly appreciate creativity and I got really good feedback from everyone after every gig, which I love, because my goal is to share happiness with others, especially in these demanding times.

After every gig, I realize: I love doing this. It is so much fun. Unfortunately, some of the gigs I played turned out to be annoying: People telling me what to play, hosts not trusting me and giving requests in the middle of the set, men explaining CDJs to me even though they know less about them than I do, crowds only reacting to the most banal songs they already know and taking years to start dancing even though the music is on fire. Especially weddings are extremely stressful if the people getting married want the day to be "perfect", whatever that means (more stress for everyone involved, I assume?). Finding that out is life and part of the deal.

But I've come to the conclusion that - unlike my other work which pays the bills monthly, as DJing is still a side gig for me - that I want to stick to my why. And my why that got me into this is: I DJ for fun and for the love of music, not to provide a service. I want to make people smile and dance. I want the whole room to have nice energy. I want them to wake up the next day and feel lighter and less stressed. And I cannot do this in stressful contexts where people try to tell me what to do and/or control what I play.

I am sharing this because often I see people in this subreddit who seem unclear about their why. And as someone with lots of experience in related fields who's still learning, I thought I'd share my why. Cause I keep going back to it whenever I ask myself if I should do something or not. And I'm also more protective with cooperations to be happy with my choices and to humble my ego.

Hi, I'll play a gig tomorrow where I'm the only booked DJ. Before and after me it's gonna be....a playlist I guess?!

I usually always bring my USB sticks, but since I'll be the only one on the decks, I thought that I could also bring my Macbook Air to try it (and even if I should stick with sticks at first, as a backup). At home, I practice on a FLX4 + Macbook, but I've played on CDJs many times and feel comfortable doing so with my USBs. Any thoughts on this?

Hey, I'll be in Portugal in September and start with surfing in Ericeira with my partner. After that, I want to continue traveling alone. I'm super open location wise as long as I can reach it with public transport.

I prefer being in nature/or a chill small town for 5-7 days and then I will go back to Lisboa and stay at a friend's house.

Can someone recommend specific hostels (or other cheap accomodation) that are suitable for me who has outgrown her party girl lifestyle and prefers a tranquil and calm place to sleep? I've been researching about places and am really open to go almost anywhere where I can arrive easily from Ericeira. But there are so many options and most hostels I see seem to cater to folks in their 20s who might want to party and while I respect that (and used to do it), I really need calmness. I speak Portuguese as well if that helps.

Ich feier euch so!

Weiß nicht wie ihr sie fandet, aber ich fand die so super programmiert: simpel, intuitiv, keine nervigen unnötigen Features. Toll auch mit dem "No Photos on the Dancefloor" jedes Mal und dass das Zelt eingelockt werden konnte. Und super funny dass die ab und zu bunte Farben angezeigt hat oder gewackelt hat.

Noch besser hätte ich gefunden, wenn es dort keinen Timetable gegeben hätte oder vielleicht die jeweilige Bühne, wo man steht nach Geolocation angezeigt wird und alle anderen nicht oder dass das Lineup nach Zufallsprinzip angezeigt wird und keine Screenshots davon gehen. Weil der Fusion-Spirit leidet schon unter diesem komischen Hype, den manche Leute fahren, die extra zu bestimmten Artists wollen

I became a cat mom during COVID. The purring companion who's living with me had been an indoor cat in another household with another cat the 3 years before. The (first) 2 years (of his life) before that, my feline friend and his sibling could even go outside, but this stopped once the previous owners moved houses.

Since he's been with me, he's an indoor cat – and we've both grown very attached. During the pandemic, I stayed home a lot. Until today 75% of my work is from home. I have an anxiety disorder and whenever I was away, I used to really worry about my cat. This had become a self-fulfilling prophecy: When I came home, my furry son would wait in front of the door and yell at me for having left him alone. Mind you: I leave the house for 10 hours maximum approximately once or twice a week and I sleep at my partner's house another one time a week. My anxiety has gotten better, but I still worry somewhere below.

The paw baby has an automatic feeder, I play with him, and whenever I leave, I make sure that he has enough treats hidden as well as water and toys. If I'm away for 24 hours, a neighbor or cat sitter always visits once to keep him company, clean his litter and fill up water and play with him and give treats. This has worked absolutely fine so far. But I am realizing that I want and need more freedom. I would for instance really like to travel for a whole weekend, but I am hesitant to do so without having someone stay overnight (friends do that sometimes), because he is so used to sleeping with someone. But this whole overnight staying and Trusted Housesitter thing has become a pain to me since it's so much work (and since I've also had very bad experiences on THS).

Can anyone give me tips on how to get him used to being more alone and having a visitor only once a day for more than one day?

I would love (for the both of us lol) to be more independent. Thanks a lot!
