Crown won’t fit on tube?

I feel so dumb because I’m working on a Timex 32 movement. I got the thing all cleaned and running. I’m putting it back together but I cannot get the stem back into the movement through the case because the crown doesn’t seem to fit back over the case tube. Wtf?

CO2 Transcritical Booster System

This is dumb; me and another tech are being sent to work on a CO2 system that our company installed a number of years ago… The problem is, nobody in the company has training or experience with CO2 systems.

I have read the manufacturer manual, watched a number of videos, and believe that I understand how it works.. I don’t have the practice to be confident though. With that being said, is there anyone that would be willing to take a phone call and answer practical questions?

I have been a refrigeration tech for nearly four years, but am a little cautious/concerned about working on this system.

We need to replace a drier shell on the medium temp compressors. I’m assuming the process to pump down and isolate that section is the same as any refrigeration system; close the liquid line coming off of the receiver and let the compressors run to low pressure. We also need to do an oil change; does it require a CO2 rated oil or just the right 85 weight POE?

I have a bunch of dumb questions that I probably am just overthinking… Let me know in the comments, and save the “this guy shouldn’t be working on anything”. Haha

Update: Drier shell has been changed. I’ll try to attach the video of the old leaking one.

Cimier De Luxe

I’m diving in head first… I had a beautiful piece that wasn’t running. I pulled the entire thing apart, put it back together and messed up the hairspring on the balance wheel. I was lucky and found a donor that was also not running and had a terrible dial. I took the balance spring extremely gently out, put it extremely gently in. Everything looks to be in place, but the watch won’t run. I have now noticed that the crown has more resistance than I’d expect when trying to turn the hands; I’m assuming that extra resistance is the reason my gear train isn’t running enough to power the escape wheel, and in turn the balance wheel.

What would cause the added resistance on the hands? The canon pinion?

I’m very green, so please be gentle while I’m still learning.

Endura Jump Hour

Hello! I’ve been getting into watch repair recently and have started digging into more watches. I have this Endura Jump Hour that’s in decent overall shape, but I need to open it up (it’s missing the crown/stem)… My question is, how do I open this? There’s no slot to lift the back cover off and I don’t want to start scratching it all up just yet.

Albino Super Red Bristlenosek

I have a spawning pair of albino super reds but the female is looking a little extra pale. They haven’t spawned in the last two months. I’ve seen her eating well; I’ve been adding cucumber and she’s been going to town on it. The male is still colorful and happy looking. This is my first pair of plecos. Is she okay? The other tank mates all seem to be doing well.

I feel like a fraud. I spent a lot of time using AI to create an app that I eventually sold to a company for a big chunk of money. I’m now being paid for continuing development, but they don’t know that I’m almost entirely using AI to do the coding. I did go to school for software development but my skills are way, way below what AI has made…
