Por quê não chega aqui no Brasil praticamente nada de mídia audiovisual de Portugal?
Mesma língua, fácil compreensão.
Não existe produção de séries e filmes relevantes por lá? Nem novelas?
Eu pensei nisso porque assimilei que é algo como Estadunidenses assistindo mídia da Inglaterra, que tem muita produção.
Alguma indicação dos Lusitanos?
Não sei como se fala corretamente em português o gênero "Weird Fiction", mas é sobre isso.
Aqui englobam histórias com foco no não explicado, no não convencional, até um pouco abstrato. Coisas precisam menos explicação do que o normal para existir, demanda bastante imersão e suspensão de descrença. Algumas coisas são só mencionadas, pinceladas, e ficam no ar para a sua imaginação, para contemplar e especular.
Alguns exemplos:
No âmbito do horror é bem famoso o escritor HP Lovecraft (Cthulhu).
Também é muito famoso o livro Aniquilação, que teve filme pela Netflix, do escritor Jeff Vandermeer.
Alguns livros que li e indico muito:
- Piranesi (bem onírico, ativa todos os teus sentidos enquanto você lê, e o final é incrível)
- A Biblioteca do Monte Char (fantasia urbana, personagens fascinantes, é quase uma história de heist (roubo), mas com estranhezas estilo Alice no País das Maravilhas)
- Vita Nostra (harry potter ucraniano, só que mais lento e abstrato/metafórico, com um final quase que psicodélico e transcendental)
- A Cidade e a Cidade (sci-fi urbana com temática política e uma ambientação única)
Já leram algo de ficção estranha?
Que realmente te deixa com uma coceira querendo saber mais, mas que também você só tem que aceitar que é aquilo e nem tudo é explicado.
Its been 6years i'm at the same company, it's a small tech company. I've climbed and reached the top of the ladder here, only C-levels above, and every year it gets harder for me to receive any promotion or salary updates.
But it's a very nice place to work, many people i like, a job that i like doing and i'm well perceived. Sometimes it doesn't feel like work at all.
But i'm having a rare opportunity to change and receive a 40% salary increase, in another company, with very interesting room to grow even more.
Is it work risking leaving it all behind when it's already "good", wishing for "great" but with the chance of loosing it all?

I've always wondered how movies and TV shows handle localization when text appears on screen.
For example: street signs, phone messages, computer screens, newspapers, UI elements, etc.
What's the actual production pipeline for this? Do VFX teams keep editable versions and render one version per language? Is there dedicated localization software, or is it mostly manual work?
It feels like this is a part of filmmaking that's rarely discussed, yet millions of people see the final result without paying attention there's a whole process behind it.
I think this subject could make for a really unique and interesting YouTube video.
I'm facing this challenge right now, to manage a department with high technical focus but I'm from a business background.
I know the company, it's products, strategy and all of that with the palm of my hand, but i can barely undertsand the technical employees.
I do have a tech lead partner that helps with that, the thing is I'm noticing they respect him much more than me. They do not really validate me as a leader.
Have you guys faced this challenge? How to earn trust, respect and authority?

I only own the base 2nd edition game. But I would like some variance and I thought we could use investigators from other expansions to play the base scenarios.
Like, just to have different skills and actions. I could print the investigators cards and distribute them (obviously, the ones that don't have a special item from the expansion or something else connected to them).
And if the game app says "William does something", then one of the players with a new character will assume the action.
Old early-2000s PC game. The name contains something like “Hex” or “Hax”.
It had a futuristic aesthetic with lots of green UI/effects, possibly involving hexagons. The gameplay involved hitting or rebounding a ball/object, i think.
The game was played from a first-person or perspective view, and you controlled something like a transparent glass paddle/platform to bounce the ball back. The ball moved in the direction of the screen i think.
