Without the hype - Is PC emulation there yet?

Without 5 different apps, 6 hours doing settings and 7 framerate dips before the game really gets going?

Basically, whats the truth without hype or is it better to just keep waiting for that Proton layer to be implemented? Even then would this chip be decent? Not interested in super modern AAA titles, mainly older stuff like 10 years ago etc

I'm officially retiring from playing Super ROM Hunter II - Grand Tweaking Service.

Any Aventus Addicts members here?

Or if anyone know the admin I'd like to speak to him about some vintage juice. I do believe he is from Scotland or that could be the UK Aventus Addicts group?

I don't have FB and not keen on giving them my biometrics so thought I'd ask here for some expert insight. Thanks.

Would you buy a horizontal Brick?

Same processor, maybe double the RAM would be nice, same screen, horizontal form factor. Nice and slim.

I really like the "bezelless" design and find horizontal way more immersive. Either this or a 2.8" updated Smart with the same form factor. I think the above, codenamed TrimUI Slate, would be a much better diversification over the new U Pro 2 Hyper Capitalism X that they're releasing.

Why don't all the Brick firmware creators get together?

And create a universal "base" firmware that focuses on speed, stability and standby. Then each can work on their own custom plugins for what features they like/want to add etc. Because the way it is right now is so inefficient.

Some developers won't use something that works in anothers code and complicate by trying to "innovate" instead. Others are a bloated mess with glimmers of genius. If they truly care about the device and end user experience it really would pay to do some kind of collab to create the basic firmware that just does everything simple and clean then customize from there on. What do you think?

Zero 28 - Whats the opionionon?

Is it good? Bad? Ugly? Better 2.8 options?

I feel compelled to purchase a device I don't need to ease my existential dread with a cheap dopamine hit that distracts me from reality.

EDIT:

Can anyone with different colors comment on how it feels in hand? The black one looks smudgy and I don't often like the texture of see through plastic so thats another thing.

Is there a market for replacement shells in custom colors?

As illustrated.

The method (Ritmore) is quite simple once you know how to do it. Until then its distorted shells, screens falling apart and uneven, blotchy finishes plus as many funky actone fumes as you can handle.

Is there a market for this? I've seen how much people pay for buttons and as nice as they are (and time consuming to make) I still feel they're expensive so wondering how much you'd pay for something like this?

Getting a perfect finish across all of the parts (esp the battery cover which can be quite tricky with some hues) is the most difficult part. As is avoiding "hot spots" where the dye isn't even across the front as it looks terrible. Too much heat and the case warps. Not enough and its a really thin layer of color. Too much acetone and the plastic becomes brittle. Not enough and it won't take the new color properly. Anyone who has done this will agree that the first few are purely for testing but once you get how its done is quite simple to create something that really does look like it came out of the factory as all of the decals are still perfect and it looks amazing as you can see.

Would you buy something like this? If so, whats a fair price? Would you want it with or without the screen?

Illustrated with a replacement screen already fitted as removing that from the original shell in one piece is an art form. Thumb lanyard fitted inside the case as its an essential mod I recommend to everyone. This color is a custom mix I made using the standard hue mixed in with a few other elements of orange and yellow to create a perfect Mario Red with matte finish. The standard red is very bright in comparison and I wanted something smoother looking and stylish for this one.

How many of you have IPS screens?

On the MM+ some are TFT. You can tell if you turn it to an angle as the screen washes out. The IPS stays solid. Interestingly I think they used 2 different grades of IPS with the earlier model (no RTC, PCB held in by screws and not tabs) had better response time and stronger colors.

Just wondering.

More pictures of Pac and Heron in the RR?

There used to be a lot more pics from this set with the Rolls and Heron. Does anyone still have them?
