3 weeks no shots cause of chemo. Is this okay?

I likely won't be able to do my usual IM shots due to 3 weeks of chemo and staying at the hospital. I have leukemia and the IV drugs will raise my clot risk and since estrogen also does that they don't want to raise it more 😞 I asked if we could switch me to oral/sublingual 2mg E per day with 50mg Spiro as well. They're talking to the endo in the hospital now.

Any advice y'all?? Thanks 🥰

Air fried pickled tofu, broccoli, spinach, on a local gf vegan cheese pizza

Once we finished our jar of grillo's we cut up a block of extra firm tofu (had been frozen then thawed), then I coated that in dill, pepper, garlic powder, salt, oil and then cornstarch, air fried it at 425° for 20 minutes, then added it to the pizza with the others toppings 🤤

Trying to maintain my appetite before chemo next week 🥲

The support from this community is truly overwhelming 🥹

I just want y'all to know how lovely you all are! Every day since last week's diagnosis I've woken up to kind messages, comments, donations, and shares on my gofundme. Tears welling up with each one (*ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ꕤ*.゚

This still doesn't feel real. Knowing I have such a strong support system IRL and online has really helped.

Assigned DO. DO vs MD?

Wednesday I was diagnosed with AML and I'm at what seems like a great facility. I had my initial intake yesterday with my oncologist, who is a Doctor of Osteopathic medicine and not a Doctor of Medicine. Has anyone here had experience with seeing a DO long term vs MD or switching from one to the other? It seems like DO isn't just horseshit and that they follow evidence and science-based medicine on top of seeing the patient as a whole person and doing additional recommendations (massages, acupuncture, etc kinda whatever could help with quality of life vs an MD potentially just being a drug robot)

Am I correct in my readings/assumptions?

They offered me to see any MD at the same facility if I don't want to see him anymore. Due to the rapid nature of AML obviously I want to get this squared away asap and don't wanna waste time going back and forth.

I had a good chat with my partner and she of course says that whatever I feel is right to do that. Just looking for feedback from people with leukemia as well since this is all so new to me (routine physical 3 weeks ago caught this and since then it's been a whirlwind)

Thank you all 💗

Please share home workouts that are manageable during chemo (づ ᴗ _ᴗ)づ♡

I love fitness and I'm nearly a 10 year vegan! But that's gonna change a bit (not the veganism) since I'll be starting chemotherapy soon and will be cancelling my gym membership for now during treatment. Of course I still wanna move and stay as active as possible so please share your favorite home workouts (bodyweight, weighted, dumbbell, kettlebell, yoga, etc) thanks!

Will I have to update my regimine during chemo? Will I lose my facial hair at least?

I was diagnosed with leukaemia yesterday and I current do 0.3mL EV once a week and 100mg progesterone (rectally) once a day. Will I need to swap to oral administration? I will likely lose my hair during treatment so balding won't be a risk I guess 😭😔☹️

My second question is - since I'll mist likely lose my hair, will I also lose my facial hair? 🙏

Mom brought me a treat box at the oncology ward 🥲

I was diagnosed with cancer (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) yesterday 8/12 at age 34. It was like being hit by a truck over and over with each new sentence from my doctor's mouth. To help ease the pain my mom brought me a treat box from a vegan cafe 🥲

If you're able to please send a gift or share! https://gofund.me/8c180d9b8

Can EV mess with liver function or certain blood test results?

Hey y'all, been on EV for 1.5 years (. 3mL 6mg once a week) and got some uhhh not great CBC and CMT results from my doctor and I'm low key freaked out. My liver function and red blood cells are all fucky and I'm wondering if HRT can have any influence on that? I do take other meds but I don't personally wanna share and will look into that separately. I just know there's so little long term data on HRT that I'd rather ask people on it if anyone has had this experience. Thanks!
