Hey has anyone experienced photo-sensitivity post cytarabine and/or doxorubicin?? I feel like my eyes are far more sensitive now upon leaving the hospital after my first (and hopefully only) 7/3 dose of the drugs. It's making driving and stuff a bit difficult because I wear glasses and can't afford contacts after these bills have started piling up ($6,000 and counting - fuck UHC) and I don't have transition lenses :(
I'm fairly butch (I'd put myself in the futch category) and I had to shave my head to the beginning stages of hair loss from chemo (it has started coming out but my scalp with burning from a fever and follicle death from said chemo) and while most of the staff at this hospital are chill and use my pronouns and my wife and mom keep telling me I look beautiful I can't help but get sad and annoyed when a new person enters my room and immediately misgendered me on sight 😔
I'm really trying to let go of the attachment I had to my hair and embrace the bad bald bitch, but its tough. I'm sure it'll improve massively when I'm finally able to leave the hospital (possibly tomorrow!)
Any advice from y'all is appreciated and especially the short and shaved head hotties in here. Love y'all and its great seeing everyone's cool looks and stuff in this sub. So glad for it despite being a lurker mostly lol

Hey y'all. Newly diagnosed MtF woman here so I'm wondering if I'm in a more unique situation. I finished my 7/3 treatment of cyterabine and red devil and its been 10 days and I haven't experienced hair loss.
I'm currently on a slew of meds but one of them is obviously Estrogen. Got changed to a patch cause I was doing IM shots before but they don't want me to in the hospital for obvious reasons lol
I haven't experienced any hair loss yet? I cut my hair short just as a means of control so now I'm just kinda waiting here. My doctor made it sound like a guarantee? Would exogenous estrogen slightly change that or am I just kinda waiting on the inevitable? My hair looks like its grown slightly since I cut it last week which is throwing me off lol

Added some hot sauce and spare Louisville jerkey crumbles to the pizza and tbh it's amazing but I wish I could have an edible with it 🥲

Microwaved the bread to soften it, pressed it out with my autism spoon, loaded it with the best peanut butter and jelly, added a few prunes and a handful of trail mix, sealed it and enjoyed 🤤
It was slightly bigger than my palm lmao feeling kinda normal today after 2 days of feeling like absolute dog shit on the double chemo treatment (the "red devil" for any other unfortunate pals who've gone through cancer know how much that shit sucks). Now (hopefully only) 4 more days of drip chemo then monitoring for 2 more weeks then discharge and I can be home with my wife and our cats 🥹

I likely won't be able to do my usual IM shots due to 3 weeks of chemo and staying at the hospital. I have leukemia and the IV drugs will raise my clot risk and since estrogen also does that they don't want to raise it more 😞 I asked if we could switch me to oral/sublingual 2mg E per day with 50mg Spiro as well. They're talking to the endo in the hospital now.

Once we finished our jar of grillo's we cut up a block of extra firm tofu (had been frozen then thawed), then I coated that in dill, pepper, garlic powder, salt, oil and then cornstarch, air fried it at 425° for 20 minutes, then added it to the pizza with the others toppings 🤤

Wednesday I was diagnosed with AML and I'm at what seems like a great facility. I had my initial intake yesterday with my oncologist, who is a Doctor of Osteopathic medicine and not a Doctor of Medicine. Has anyone here had experience with seeing a DO long term vs MD or switching from one to the other? It seems like DO isn't just horseshit and that they follow evidence and science-based medicine on top of seeing the patient as a whole person and doing additional recommendations (massages, acupuncture, etc kinda whatever could help with quality of life vs an MD potentially just being a drug robot)
Am I correct in my readings/assumptions?
They offered me to see any MD at the same facility if I don't want to see him anymore. Due to the rapid nature of AML obviously I want to get this squared away asap and don't wanna waste time going back and forth.
I had a good chat with my partner and she of course says that whatever I feel is right to do that. Just looking for feedback from people with leukemia as well since this is all so new to me (routine physical 3 weeks ago caught this and since then it's been a whirlwind)

I was diagnosed with leukaemia yesterday and I current do 0.3mL EV once a week and 100mg progesterone (rectally) once a day. Will I need to swap to oral administration? I will likely lose my hair during treatment so balding won't be a risk I guess 😭😔☹️
My second question is - since I'll mist likely lose my hair, will I also lose my facial hair? 🙏
