Yoga Workshops Dc

Hi! Not sure if this is the best place to post but I was wondering if yall new of any inversion specific workshops in DC? Corepower doesn’t really seem do offer this and I find I don’t get enough practice time in class. I’m an intermediate yogi but struggle with inversions.

I see BYDCZ has a flight school but it’s currently in session so I just missed it.

Tracking chronic pain

Has anyone else used Bevel pro to track chronic pain and figure out what the cause is? If so, would love to hear what worked best for you and any specific prompts you gave it to break down trends.

Jaw spasm

Does anyone else get sort of a muscle spasm where there lower jaw randomly moves? My lower jaw randomly juts forward and my teeth hit together. I’m worried I’m going to chip a tooth. I’ve been having jaw pain on and off and I think this is part of it.

How to finally get arm balances

Hi all — I’ve been doing corepower for like 2ish years now with 195 classes under my belt. I’m still struggling to do arm balances or any sort of inversion. I think it’s likely a mind game at this point. I usually go to c2 twice a week and recently added in core strength x once a week. Do you think the strength classes will help me build up my core and arm strength enough to finally get into balances?

I am still on the lower end of weights (5-10lbs) but hopefully to progressively increase to build up strength.

So Hot Meridian International Center is Melting

Walked past Meridian International Center and there’s some sort of black goop/tar melting out of the pipes in the wall.

Perceived Effort vs Actual

I know the perceived effort is a self input data point but I wish I could see what my actual effort was (based on my metrics) compared to my perceived effort. I’m sure I could compare my heart rate and the amount of time in the zones but a specific score for this could be cool. Sometimes I think I input the perceived effort lower because I’ve cooled down by the end of a workout but in reality in the middle of the workout I’m getting absolutely killed.

Or maybe this idea makes no sense! But just a thought — not sure if others have felt the same.

Cat ear wax

Hi all — my cat Tater Tot has had some ear wax issues over the last year. Even though I clean her ears regularly, she has developed a chunk of wax at the bottom of both of her ears. It can’t be removed without surgery or if I manage to soak them and get it out.

I just started using Vetoquinol Cerumene Deep Ear Cleansing Liquid which is supposed to loosen up the wax. I plan to do one ear each day. Is there anything else I should be using or trying? I’m going to take her back to the vet in 2 weeks or so to see how her ears are looking.

It’s not a yeast infection or mites — she’s been examined by the vet!

Studio Rennovations

Im confused what the point of these revamps were if they aren’t even deep cleaning the studios or replacing things that are actually needed. I go to the Adam’s Morgan studio in DC and they basically repainted things and hung up a neon sign.

They also I think regrouted the tile in the bathrooms and you can already see the grout coming off in some places. They also hung up mat rats in the studios instead of by the front desk which makes no sense — how can you tell who took a mat? Why would they spend all this money and time on useless things.

TLDR: Partner needs more alone time than me and it makes me feel invisible.

My partner [30M] and I [29F] have been together for a little over 3 years and living together for a year and a half. Living together has been a really hard adjustment mainly because he needs much more physical space than I do. We both work from home as well.

When he needs “space” he is not talkative, isolates in a room without me, won’t touch me, won’t make plans, and is very irritable. The obviously makes me anxious and I feel very alone because I feel like I’ve done something wrong, my partner is barely speaking to me, etc. I have asked for timelines of how long he needs or for him to say “hey I need a break right now but I promise we will snuggle and watch a movie tomorrow.” He basically says he doesn’t know how long he needs and also refuses to communicate in the way I suggested.

I’ve gone out of my way to try to work out of the apartment more. I also shared my calendar so he knows when he has the apartment to himself. I’m not sure how to give him any more space when the space makes me feel like there are mountains between us.

Has anyone dealt with this before? And if so, what did you do to help?
